This drama very very good so far up to ep. 10! A more realistic drama reflecting current challenges of working peoples' lives in a city.

Not your typical "MaLiSu" or Cinderella story as how FL narrating the opening of the 1st episode.

Most of the storylines shown are actually NOT exaggerated but are very REAL e.g. housing problem in Shanghai, overly controlling parents, materialism ( 200k Hermes bag), new stepmother same age as child, fitting in from rural migration to the city, harrassments from bosses or customers, cheating partners, good jobs are reserved for graduates who not just excel in academic (overseas) but also have strong family background, many more.

Crystal Zhang potrayed LWC very well! This is the 1st non-idol drama Xu Kai Cheng is in so I guess he can do well in non-idol drama too.

Yes! Thats why I could draw the similarities between these 2 FLs in 2 dramas!

Xing Fei's clothing and shoes are very similar to Shen Yue's fashion in Use For My Talent.

1) Due to their petite size, they wont look good in heels and always wear sport shoes or mens shoes with thick soles (identical white color shoes)

2)Braids hair and fridges.

3) Baggy jeans, jeans vest , white t shirts and brown cotton bags.

Shen Yue's clothing and shoes are very similar to Xing Fei's fashion in Ms Crow with Mr Lizard.

After putting this on hold for 2 weeks before watching the finale today, i have decided to add half notch up to the rating.

The recently released costume dramas are just mehhhhh.......... so I guess "The Long Ballad " is one of the best costume drama so far in 1H2021. This is the 1st Cdrama i watched that i rooted from the 1st lead couple to 3rd lead couple. Those non-romantic relationship storylines are also are commendable because the entire casts were really good!!

I will continue to watch this xianxia no matter the negative comments because there is no other ongoing xianxia dramas to fill the gap.

As soon as a new fantasy or costume drama comes along, I may put this on hold. : )

Oh, apart from TMOPB, the 3x lifetimes lover or reincarnations love story and subplot also happened in Love & Redemption, Eternal Love series and Ashes of Love .

Cao Cao was dubbed by Wayne Lai in the Cantonese version.

This movie lack the story telling and CGI standards that were set by decade earlier popular HK movies based on anime/ manhua/games such as like Initial D (Jay Chou) and Storm Riders (Aaron Kwok and Ekin Cheng).

I watched this due to the star studded cast. The only redemption was the last 20 mins fighting scenes.

Its a B minus for me.
