In the older drama, The Empress of China starring Fan Bingbing in 2015, the Tang's Crown Prince was also having a close "male confidant " and risking his position bcos of him as history indicated.

I really enjoy watching BTS for both couples. There we can really see how comfortable Zhao Lusi & Liu Yuning interact and fooling around with each other! Dilireba and Wu Lei were shy then slowly warming up before thry became closer and can talk and joke with each other.

Dilireba mentioned in a recent interview that this drama is her happiest one especially when they were fikming on the set for a short 3 months and looked at Leo Wu.

This is my 1st Allen Ren's drama and possibly my 5th or 6th Xing Fei's drama. I watch this drama due to Xing Fei.

Yeah...apparently same producers with Word of Honor so there could be more similar supporting casts.

Director Liu Xin also directed the drama Age of Legends (2018), also starring William Chan as ML.

The trailer was released in 2019. The drama was prolly shot a year or two back. William and Naza looked much younger then...lol

Its refreshing to see Naza playing a more mature and intelligent character here as she normally takes on those cute and pretty roles in the past that didnt showcase enough of her vast improvement in acting. Love her outfits here!!

Anyway, glad the drama is released now and hopefully it is well received regardless positively or negatively. Maybe different year, different genre was prioritized for censorship approval. Storm Eye with Yang Mi and Zhang Binbin was popular ( criticised for being unrealistic) and released earlier, have the kind of have the same genre i.e. cyber security, national intelligence agency, etc. , but different story line.

The story of this drama is getting better and better. I am upgrading 0.5 notch today.

This drama is actually not bad ! Both ML and FL are more suitable to act in romcom compared to ML and FL in Hello Mr. Gu.

@Chin Chan Zoo Oh really? I have no intention to offend the author. It was just my opinion.....but i really enjoyed the drama and have rated it above 8.0.

IMHO episode 6 onwards only starts to get interesting.

Finished this entire Jdrama with 6 episodes in one Sunday morning! This one reminds me of Coffee & Vanilla. I prefer Coffee & Vanilla though.

This drama generated alot of controversies from Dilireba's hairdo covering her natural beauty, Han Chinese ML playing ethnic minority and vice versa with FL, using doubles to do stunts, the age gap btw ML and FL, the kissing scene replaced by birds (health reasons maybe), too many drawings replacing actual shooting ( maybe to pay homage to manhua/manga), inaccuracy in history reference, actual manhua still in legal tussle btw writer and stakeholders and hanging without an ending for many years, etc etc etc....

Fans like me will continue to watch despite the flaws no doubt. Cant wait to see more of 2nd leads CP on screen time!

For those who have just started or catching up, you can just stop @ ep.27 because I think the real story have ended there. I personally feel that the producers could've just ended in ep.27 with a happy or open ended ending.

The continuation from Ep. 28 to 30 are just for diehard fans to see the FL and ML reminiscing each other in flashbacks.

In the latest Happy Camp variety show, the leads and 2nd leads of this drama were there.

Alen Fan introduced his character in The Long Ballad as Liu Yu Ning's love rival. Prolly further down the story he will like princess leyan/ZLS.
