btw, I really hope that Ha Ri and Hye Jin's friendship won't last. I mean, it's fine if she forgives her, but the friendship should be over. The trust is ruined. Ha Ri doesn't deserve Siwon either, I hope she stays alone at the end because she deserves it.
I wish this drama won't have some sort of magical make over that would make her look uber pretty in the end. It…
I did think about that possibility (Ha Ri may have already tried to help her or she simply does not want cuz she loves being in the spotlight as the prettier one) in my CW article. We cannot know for sure, we can only guess. My theory is that she has become oblivious, it is not uncommon for depressed people to ignore their problems and just endure the pain. I see her like that. It is more about the standards that we set for ourselves, more than the others do that for us.
I have to say - one of the reasons I wanted to watch this drama in the first place is because the female lead…
Exactly! In her case, she obviously has rosacea, which can become waay worse if it is left untreated. Her frizzy hair is not the problem itself, but it does not suit her face (I'm still not sure whether that is a wig or not). Her clothes are also unflattering for her body. She is apparently aware of that, but she still does nothing (or they do not show), while being depressed over the issue. The writers will either make her character love that look (illogical), or she will go down the route of transformation, which I'd personally prefer. I love when people make the best out of their looks.

Everything you said would be perfectly fine if she actually liked herself the way she is, but that is obviously not the case :p I guess it's easier to pretend that there is no problem and go around thinking that you would be superficial if you enjoyed taking care of your appearance.
Those who do not like taking care of their bodies but keep lamenting about their poor appearance are the same as those who only care about appearance and nothing else.
The only scene that I really hated so far is the one in can't remember which ep, when Xiao Xi almost forces Liu Beng to drink her medicine by twisting his arm behind his back in a painful way. I guess it was supposed to be funny, but I was twitching throughout the whole scene and really disliked it. Since I do not like abuse in any way nor directed towards any gender, this was a bit disappointing.
I'm enjoying it because the MMC is finally a normal guy who is not abusive and even though I'm not a fan of tomboyish MFCs, Xiao Xi can take care of herself and is sometimes very cool.

Because the reality is that appearance IS important, and in her case, it's not as if she needs dozens of plastic surgeries, she just needs a hairdresser and treatment for her skin. The worse message would be "do not care about your skin and hair, the prince charming will love you either way". That is not true, everyone should, especially women, try to look their best. It's obvious that she doesn't know even makeup to apply, not to mention caring for her body.
I have a hunch that he will feel deceived and angry when he finds out (which is normal of course), but I just…
Well, he's got the whole ep 7 to fall in love (according to the preview) xD Unless Ha Ri destroys their romance by the end of the ep and we get some ugly twist in ep 8.
I have a hunch that he will feel deceived and angry when he finds out (which is normal of course), but I just really hope it will happen next week, can't take it anymoreee >.<
