Of course they made us love the neighbors and whole town just to kill most of them. Constable Wang, Chef Li, Aunt Yin, maid Fuling and the workers in the restaurant, even Granny Kang and Magistrate’s daughter😭 what a great performance from Lin Muran (Sui 2nd son), I really want to get inside the screen and kill him. I don’t believe in jinx shit, but FL really kinda jinxed her town😀 okk i’m not fr, it’s those crazy Sui brothers.
I personally enjoyed this one! FL reminded me of Julia Xiang in Forever Love (with Wang Anyu) and Lu Yuxiao in Time and Him are Just Right (which are two of my fav school dramas). ML is not your typical aloof genius guy, and FL is a very good and loyal friend. I didn’t find any episode boring. The last few episodes kinda went downhill a bit, but the ending is great, so I think this overall deserves 8 rating.
When I first saw him in Affinity I was like “he looks like the annoying villain in Lighter and Princess” but like “nah probably not him, just remembered his face wrong”, then it’s really him😭 like i literally hated his guts in L&P and thankfully he looks very different here from his style there.
The chemistry, intimacy, and cinematography that I was expecting before the drama aired did not disappoint!! Hoping for another project with YSX and HY.
Just finished this, and I totally loved the chemistry between BJT (Ding Qi) and SY (Mo Yuanzhi) until the end, like they’re literally so funny whatever the situation. Sadly, i don’t think there will be season 2.
I’m currently halfway through the drama and i’m loving the actors’ performance, especially the ml and fl, the emperor of Susha, Prime Minister Zhuang, and Chen He Yi (Xia Jinshi), this is like my 5th drama of him and I also love his look here, I just hope he’ll stop being a sml and an obsessive and heartless one at that (like in Princess Royal).
I am at ep 17 and all I can say that princess xiyang is brave enough for a girl who grew up inside the Palace…
I came here exactly to comment about her too. I’m still on ep. 12 and she’s pissing me off (at fist I was just embarrassed for her trying to rage-bait Yixiao). I mean, I always pity women in this type of era and standing (even scheming palace ladies sometimes), ‘cause the society made them do anything for survival, and a spoiled princess like Xiyang was usually raised naive. Ofc it’s already expected that Xia Jingshi won’t treat her right, ‘cause nevermind that he’s not exactly a good person, he also loves another woman. I’ve seen some very little spoilers (short clips) about Xiyang, and I won’t say that she’ll deserve the bad things that will happen to her ‘cause “she had it coming”, but it’ll definitely be a harsh lesson for her (much like Sansa from GoT).
(Ep. 30) I suspected that Master She and Bo Yulan’s sis are Ming Yi’s parents, and Ji Bozai being the descendant of Bo clan is just to mislead (even since the beginning it’s obvious), but being the real child of Yaoguang’s Emperor and Empress?! now that I didn’t expect. Now I wonder what happened to Bo Yulan when he was a baby that he ended up in Sunken Abyss, and will he be Yaoguang’s emperor🤔
(I’m at the beginning of ep. 23) Girlieee, i’m getting a bit frustrated at you and your decisions to keep hiding your condition from your man, and i don’t get frustrated easily, at my girls especially. With the progression of the story, we’ve already seen a lot of JBZ’s past and trauma, yet he’s here being honest, open, and trusting, because HE LOVES YOU. I’m sure his late master won’t get mad at his decision to let the woman he loves take that freakin golden millet dream to save her life, if the said woman would be honest! Like would you rather steal it and make him hate you, or risk asking and let him decide. Ok imma get back ‘cause i’m sensing the biggest angst coming.
(Ep. 8) OMGGG Zhang Tai and the fox guy?!! I didn’t expect that. what’s with these men from Lord Hanfeng’s faction doing and falling in love with the girls🤣 (would’ve been funny if Yan Xiao and Zhang Tai are the pair here ‘cause they were a couple in Moonlight Mystique). Anyways, why do I feel like these two’s fate is gonna be the tragic one than Yan Xiao and Princess Tianji. For now, I’m hoping for their redemption and all couples’ happy ending.
Currently in ep. 5 and I’m loving the angst between Yan Xiao and Princess Tianji. I don’t know how they’ll end, whether Yan Xiao will really turn out bad, but right now I’m hoping the best for them.
Anyone who have read the novel, can someone spoil me of their whole story, I want to know how their relationship developed from “siblings” to lovers, ‘cause I’m really hoping for no toxicity and misunderstandings.
With the cinematography and vibes and visuals from the videos I’ve seen, I’m expecting a very passionate and intimate scenes, but most of all, a good story ofc.

I just watched another trailer vid of this and it also reminded me of Our Generation and First Frost where one of them leaves without a word because of their trauma and past. By the looks of it, this is prob gonna have that miscommunication or avoidance typa drama, but hopefully not the ghosting. I haven’t read the novel, so I’m not sure.
I watched the trailer and this kinda reminds me of Guardians of the Dafeng, and ARP and DW being look alike doesn’t help. Finally gonna see ARP being his real silly self (last I watched with him like that was in Female Student Arrives at the Imperial College). Love love the gorgeous Sun Zhen Ni, but sadly it looks like this won’t focus on romance ‘cause I really want to see these two in a very romantic drama.
