I finished watching the donghua version.
1. Su Mo is cold and ruthless. It's cool.
2. Bai Ying is the same, except she gets to ride a pegasus 👍🏻
3. Zhen Lan is the same, but stronger and useful.
4. Na Sheng is more reasonable and not clingy.
5. Yan Xi is gentle and friendly.
6. The battle reminds me of Soul Calibur.

What I don't like:
1. There's no romance between Su Mo and Bai Ying. 100 years ago, they were childhood friends (unlike in the drama where they had more mature relationships although she tried to avoid him before she finally accepted him). 100 years later, they're more like old acquaintances which he owes her an apology while she thinks of him as friend. Instead there are sparks and understanding between Bai Ying and Zhen Lan.
2. It's lacking Chinese elements. The Cangliu are like medieval knights, Athena Bai Wei and Ares Lang Gan, a tiger riding Greek goddess, while Ruyi is a mixture of Hinoe (Natsume Yuujinchou) and Yuuko (xxxHolic).
3. I hate Xiao in the drama, but I hate her even more in the donghua. She's just a bitch who wishes to be Yun Huan's concubine/slave. She's drooling over him.

They said the next season is around 2023. I feel lonely watching the donghua 😭 Even Xi Jing and Ting's story is more romantic and tragic. I hope in the next season the romance between Su Mo and Bai Ying will blossom or visible. I'm glad the drama made Su Mo as a romantic man and passionate towards Bai Ying.

There's no official explanation, but we assume it's a happy ending. Someone made a theory that Bai Ying still has half of Su Mo's power and since she travels around Yun Huang, she gathers the prayer of people. That makes Su Mo comes back. Another theory by me is for three years the people of Yun Huang pray and worship him as god. Thanks to this prayer Su Mo has enough power to finally appears after 3 years.

The scene where Su Mo took Bai Ying to Tianque temple, he didn't say goodbye. He put her to sleep and laid her inside the temple. Then she had a dream where he told her to forget him. She woke up from that dream and searched for him everywhere until she came to the beach where he officially said goodbye. I don't know why the writer changed Su Mo at the end. He has been wanting to have a future with Bai Ying, but then he didn't even think about her and just wished to be rain. He did become rain, it just wasn't shown.

I was absent for 3 days and suddenly the rating dropped a lot!!?? Wow people really hate such light and heartwarming drama 😱 I'm thankful I watched this bcs I learned a lot and see the beauty of kindness and loyalty which are really hard to find in real world. I guess international viewers like to see more thrill and banger instead of realistic and simple life story.

If you watched season 3, in the final episode, Wu Pei showed her ring 😚 she also gave a few spoilers about it, but I forgot 😅

It ended beautifully ❤ everything about this drama is beautiful. I love the bond that the characters have. All of them are genuinely supportive and they respect each other. Except Mo Hai, everyone is lovely and likeable, even Shiyin. This drama is simple in story, but has deep messages for viewers. To be respectful, supportive, loyal and giving without hoping for a return.

It's a pity that Mr. Sun, Ms. Zhang, Siyuan and Qianmu didn't appear again until the last episode.

It broke my heart seeing Zhang Qi 😭 bcs it's Shao Xue, Zhang Qi could fall in love.

Zhang Qi didn't do anything wrong. He did the right thing bcs Sunian has the right to know. Zhang Qi told Sunian to let her go for awhile and support her decision, but Sunian took it as "break up". It's Sunian's fault for not supporting Shao Xue like Zhang Qi does. Sunian thought if they break up means she will be free to see the world. Bad decision indeed.

It's based on a novel "Glazed Tiles of the Past" (昔有琉璃瓦) by Bei Feng San Bai Li (北風三百里). It's completely different from Reply 1988.

It's the finale and I'm not ready to say goodbye 😭

If you read the reviews for this drama, you'll see some good and some bad reviews. I wrote a review too where I said this drama you will either love it or hate it, enjoy it or skip it, feel attached or disappointed. Some of us like it no matter how bad it is. FL is boring? At first 5 episodes, she was supposed to be the obedient puppet groomed to be the future queen. She wasn't happy bcs she was imprisoned in golden cage. Her dream is to travel as swordswoman. But she sacrificed herself for Bai clan and Kong Sang. If you understand her backstory you will understand why she looks so lifeless. Also the chemistry gets better and a lot of us really love the couple. It's bcs of the bad directing and script that made the drama boring.

Poor Shao Xue. She keeps suffering since Sunian broke up with her 😭 I really want to slap Sunian. He doesn't have the courage to talk to her, on the blind date he blamed her, yet he also stalked her. What a man indeed. And somehow it's Zhang Qi who is always stay by her side. If I were Shao Xue, I would fall for him 😆

And that Mo Hai is a trash since day 1. Thankfully he got what he deserves!

I love MOET. Simply bcs of the reasons I mentioned above 😚 really, there's no violence, no bully, no belittling, no smoking underage, no friends with benefit. The friendship here is something you wish to have. They sincerely support and help each other.

Oh dear I guess you missed a lot of things 😭 Mo Hai is a new character. He is Shao Xue's senior in college and a member of student council. Shao Xue joined the student council to get opportunities to work or interact with foreigners. Sunian hates him bcs he thinks Mo Hai is up to no good and tries to steal Shao Xue. Anyway this man is an trash. Everything that went wrong is bcs of him. If you read the replies on my comment above you'll know this trash will cause more trouble...

Unlike Shao Xue, Shiyin is the type that won't give up her passion over a man. I don't know if she will change in this 7 years and chooses Wu Huan before the finale.

I'm not hating her for ignoring Zhengxuan. I don't like her princess style and how she was drooling over Yichen. Zhang Tian and Wu Pei didn't force themselves to Yichen and just cool about it. Other than that, Zhengru is friendly and bright. Zhengxuan actually made a good pairing with Wu Pei. But thankfully now Wu Pei is married 🎉 I don't follow any of the cast after the show, only if they make appearances as guests.
