"The Secret Story of Iris" is a CF mini story sponsored by KFC. It is basically a very long commercial for KFC. The production is totally controlled by KFC, not the producers of F4. I'm not sure, but I think the KFC sponsorship came later into the production of the drama, and that may be one reason why it is not incorporated into the drama. Another reason is that KFC may have insisted on a separate mini story that would more fully feature its products each week. Obviously, KFC gets more and better exposure of its products when the plot is tailor- made just for them, rather than having to shoehorn the PPL into a larger, broader storyline. Anyway, "The Story of Iris" is about MJ and how he meets and falls for a special girl. The title refers to MJ. Each member of F4 has a flower that represents them and the iris is MJ's flower.
Yes, it is too bad that MJ's story couldn't have been incorporated into the main F4 plotline. Some viewers were hoping that AJ (the girl) would make a cameo in the final episode, but it didn't happen. Anyway, a very special "Thank You!" to KFC for sponsoring and giving us MJ's story! Now I have to go buy a KFC Spicy Chicken Sandwich, LOL,
I wanted to do a rewatch of this drama but I can't watch it at the GMMTV YT. Why did GMM take it down? All their other shows are there. Very frustrating. Where are people watching this drama?

I agree. It made no sense. I think it would have been much better for Gorya to have been there on an academic scholarship, or perhaps another type of special sponsored scholarship.
This drama has the same lead actors, director, and production company as "Mysterious Love." The plot storylines are completely different and not related at all.

I agree, the English subs on Artop are not very good. They are basic. It is unfortunate that Artop couldn't hire a professional subbing team that was more fluent in English. I am very grateful that this drama is being legally subbed and available, but I was disappointed in the quality of the Eng subs. I can get the main idea, but they are often clunky and don't flow well. The drama is also being shown on Disney+ Hotstar. Hopefully they will add English subtitles eventually. GMM One31 often add English subtitles to their dramas on You Tube, but they do not add the Eng subs until after the drama is finished, so it can take months for the subs. We will have to wait and see if better quality English subtitles become available through the other providers.
