It’s hilarious how the second couple fans actually thought Episode 16 would turn out any different from the…
Of course, we can hope for more in the drama version. They are two separate entities. The drama scriptwriters could certainly have made changes from the novel and given us a more satisfying ending in the drama for the second couple. Major changes and differences between the drama version and original novel, or rewrites, happen all the time in drama productions.
Ok…this might be an unpopular opinion, but I don’t think this drama was that great. I feel like its popularity…
Agree with your criticisms. For me, the drama had flaws in script, performances, and pacing. A better director could have helped with performances. A better script was certainly needed. The slow pacing of the drama just magnified the drama's defects even more. The ending for the second couple was a huge disappointment. Overall, this drama had potential, and it is a shame that it fell flat and was just a mediocre drama.
Well, I have to agree with you on the slow pacing. I'm currently on Ep. 7 and struggling to keep going. The length…
I have now finished the drama. I agree with you that the sweet ending made up for a lot of the drama flaws. The ending was satisfying to me. Otherwise, overall, drama was okay. I'm glad I had the Fast Forward button to speed past the boring parts. I would rate it a 7.5 I don't think I will rewatch it. Male lead actor was good in the roe, and so was Yoona, who can be hit-or-miss for me with her acting. I have not seen male lead actor before, either. I'll be interested to see his next project. Would I recommend this drama to others? Yes, I would , but I would tell them that pacing can be slow, so have the Fast Forward button ready.
Why didn't she marry him at the ending? ㅠㅠ still, I'm happy that they showed them talking instead of just…
Yes, I did not understand that ending either. I wish they had gotten married at the end. it was disappointing for me, and it left me feeling there was something lacking.
This was super cute, but I disliked the last episode. It needed more than it gave. Also, one of the pairings was…
Agree with you about the ending. I was disappointed. Your comment "It needed more than it gave" is on point, in my opinion. Also agree with you about one pairing being problematic for me also.

Thank you for your insights on this drama. Yes, the longer episode length often accentuates the slow pacing for me as well. I read the episode recaps for the remaining episodes of the drama to decide whether or not to continue watching this show, and after reading the recaps and reading the responses to my comment here, I decided to keep going. I have been watching the episodes while using the Fast Forward button to skip over the slow parts. I have now watched up to Ep. 11. I agree with you that the romance in the drama is underdeveloped in favor of the cooking/food aspect, which is disappointing to me. While I do find the drama enjoyable overall now that I'm using the Fast Forward button to skip over boring parts, I do not feel it's the "best drama ever" or even the best drama I have watched so far for 2025. It's okay. It's a nice watch, but I'm not finding it a "special" watch, if that makes sense.
I'm genuinely confused on if I'm watching the same show as everyone else... Like did you all watch 3-4 episodes…
Well, I have to agree with you on the slow pacing. I'm currently on Ep. 7 and struggling to keep going. The length of the episodes is also a factor as each episode is around 80 minutes. The combination of the slow pace and longer length is making me bored at times. I, too, was surprised that the Ming cooking competition was taking up 3 episodes. I wanted to really love this drama since everyone was raving about it, but instead I'm finding it a little bit of a chore to get through. I may end up just reading the episode recaps and watching the final 2 episodes.
Okay, I have questions. I started watching this on Viki. First, why is this show rated R (restricted)? Isn't it aimed at a teen audience? Second, so according to the plot, FL has dreamed of having brothers all her life. Why would she be okay with the new stepbrother suddenly wanting a romantic relationship? I mean, why would she ever reciprocate his feelings? It doesn't make sense to me. I know this show is a fantasy, reverse harem genre, but the characters motivations must still make sense. I just can't see how the FL would ever be okay with dating the stepbrother even if they are not blood related. Truly wish the plot was more about just adapting to the new family and maybe she could have a romance with the best friend, if needed.
