how to use this thing called nekocap to view cc?
Don’t full screen the player. If you see the transparent bar just below it with “Tt” on the left, there should be a full screen button on the right. You’ll be stuck with white bars instead of black above and below the episode, but the subtitles will work.
I’m unashamed in the joy this brought me. A hard to find genre - being romance, thriller, and horror - and an enjoyable take on the potential killer x potential victim trope. Very much appreciate that both of the mains were equally grey, a refreshing change from you usual innocent “potential victim” in a show like this.

The music was a tad much in a couple places, but other than that I’ve no complaints! This also knocked it out of the park with the ending - my favourite ending I’ve seen when it comes to this sort of show.

What I find most hilarious is that while another English title for this show is “I keep an escort”, the female lead occupies the exact same apartment as the female lead from “I bought a Boyfriend with Loan”. Golden. Couldn’t hold in a laugh at the moment of realising that.

Also absolutely love the opening theme. I also found it clever how they added to it in episode 4.

Perfect ending would have been if Misaki left her husband and his boyfriend and ran off with the cute photographer.
I would also have loved that. Would have been adorable, and I really liked him. Such a sweetheart.

I thought I could get through it so my friends didn’t have to. I was wrong. I will never ever come anywhere near this again. (No I’m not upset by it, I’m just done with it)

Also, the novel should not be a gate to entry to watch an adaptation. If you don’t introduce characters and set up story for new audiences, that’s on you and not going to help you.

All Japanese dramas that are fictional say that at the end of every episode. I believe that’s just Japanese…
Thank you very much for the directors list! 3 directors reminds me of KinnPorsche and could explain some sloppier parts of this show for sure.

I didn’t say unenthusiastic, I more meant he does little to none of the movement in the Jack Frost kisses…my bad wording wise. Suzuki Kosuke heavily lead the kisses in my opinion. I like HK as an actor too, he’s great with deeper emotions.

I’m surprised you’re saying that about the fiction graphic unless we’re at cross purposes here. At the end of every Japanese drama I’ve come across, post-2015 that aired on cable, there is white text at the end of the episode saying このドラマはフィクシュンです (this drama is fiction), unless it’s based on true events.

If you are referring to the black screen at the start (?), I apologise as this was not what I meant and I was unaware that was what you were talking about. I will also say I have watched plenty of BL though, so I’m not new to it, with over 150 completed. (Not all on my list here).

I’m not trying to come off as harsh at all either by the way so I’m sorry if any of this does!

Hate when Asian actors dye their hair "blond" and get orange/blond/pink or whatever Ritsu from Jack O' Frost has…
All Japanese dramas that are fictional say that at the end of every episode. I believe that’s just Japanese tv or network specific regulations, nothing to do with MDL.

I also think it may be an actor issue regarding the kisses, having seen both of these actors in other works. I’ve never seen Honda Kyoya seem be active in them, and I’ve only seen Furukawa Yuki paired with females - where he usually does fine. It still seems silly to me because a human is a human when it comes to kisses onscreen but who am I? Nobody.

Do you happen to know who the director is? I’m quite curious to dig into that pit but it isn’t cited here.

Is this worth watching? After reading the comments I'm a bit scared lol
I’d just give it a go, the comments would always be chaotic with a show like this. It’s probably the infidelity plot (with that comes people who feel the need to express their morals) vs the BL fans (you just never know with them) that makes this comment section extra scary…

Either way I gave it a go and watched 3 eps and it’s interesting enough that I’ll continue to watch, probably the whole drama. If you’re only here for BL, then I’d say perhaps not the best watch for you.
On Say Goodbye If You Love Me Apr 1, 2023
Honestly in spite of the awkward format, the cinematography was there. Better than I expected. You’ll need to know some Japanese though as there’s no subtitles. For what it is, cute and well done.

I love the angle you have in retrospect, upon reaching the end of the show. It’s a pretty fresh and creative take, showcasing how a happy moment can become a painful, bittersweet memory, but that bitter moment, in hindsight, can become filled with warmth again. I haven’t seen such a showcase of the impact of context on memory and I think it made this story beautiful.

I know that’s a bit vague but I’m avoiding spoilers here. The long and short of it is that I loved everything about the show, and what I’ve written about here is the cherry on top, especially considering I’m very iffy with amnesia plots.

I am so in love with this show. Everything about it. It likes to make you think, but yet it’s not predictable. It plays with bitterness and sweetness so very well. The way this show leaves people complaining it’s too short - in many ways the best praise there is; and I do think the team who created it wanted that.
On Jack o' Frost Mar 3, 2023
This drama is so tantalising, the creators definitely knew exactly what they were doing. You can tell the atmosphere with that slight edge is just how they wanted it. The leads are nailing it too, perfect casting for their parts. Absolutely loving it and very pained to have to wait a whole week for the next episode.

Title Unlocked
Wasn’t up to the hype for me. Dragged its heels with very little actual thriller content.

They're set in the same world! All of them are works under the same drama timeslot called "z-drama" and targeted…
Thank you so much! That makes much more sense now, might check out some of the others on this list too~

Does anybody know if there’s a link between this and Bakayarou no Kiss? Yagi Yusei having a character by the same name in both shows is throwing me. Not only is the name the same, but both have spin-off dating shows that are also airing?

I’m wondering if it’s the same world or the same writer or just a really curious coincidence.

An interesting perspective, although I’m inclined to consider the premise less silly (at around the same point…
I agree with the plausibility of the library in Japan (it’s probably an ‘only in Japan would this be realistic’ thing) after the initial shock, although I disagree regarding riots. I feel it’d be less rioting and more a scramble to get resources, followed by people minding their own business - be it doing things they’ve always wanted to, or going to see family, loved ones, friends while they can.
