Snooze fest
This came highly recommended to me so I was really disappointed when it was a snooze fest. Something about it was just soo slow paced with a lot of filler side stories that didn't seem necessary. The leads also had zero chemistry in my opinion. You could call this a slow burn but when it finally got to the "burn" there wasn't even a burn. Also, sooo many flashbacks that weren't necessary. They probably could have cut 50% of this drama.

I don’t see the hype around it
There were many plot holes in this.-How could Eun-geol not recognize “grandpa” in his younger years. Pretty sure grandpa would have told him his name at least while he was giving him guitar lessons so did Eun-geol not ask his name in the past and put two and two together?
-Why don’t we get to know ANY about On- eun you’s life once she returns. And how is her mom not going to remember seeing her look alike who knew so much about her from the past?
-HOW DID NOBODY REMEMBER EUN-GEOL FROM THE PAST HIS FACE OR EXACT NAME…
-Eun-ho clearly liked On-eun yoo from when they were in the hospital together sooo…is he just not mad that his brother is with her RANDOMLY. Was he not also wondering why SUDDENLY Eun-geol likes her when he’d never met her in the previous 18 years?
-Where is On-Eun yoo’s mom once she “returns” from the u.s. Did the school seriously just not call her mom or dad EVER to let them know she was at the school instead of the u.s.?
-WHY WAS YOON-CHEONG-AH’S MOM TAKEN AWAY AND NEVER CAME BACK FOR HER?!?!
-Maybe I missed it but who was the scary lady at their house now who locked her up? Her new stepmom? Again whereeee was her biological mom?!
-You’re telling me Cheong-Ah ‘s dad actually loved his daughter but didn’t see she was a shell of herself who didn’t talk to anybody? Saw no bruises from abuse? Had a hidden room in his house he didn’t know about?
I could go on and on and on.
Episodes 1-13 were so awful that i couldn’t justify it being a good show just because it had a good emotional heart wrenching last 2 episodes.

Amazing chemistry!
I loved this, I really did. However, I have found the misunderstandings/miscommunication trope is not my favorite. This whole drama is based on that so if that is not your thing then don't watch. Also, I lost count of which villain and storyline we were on.
But the CHEMISTRY. OMG I lived for the romance here. This cdrama has the most kissing/passion/steamy romance scenes I've seen in one yet.
Plus both of the leads are gorgeous to look at as well as the side people.
LASTLY, some of the xianxia dramas I can't get past when the people and swords start flying and it just looks cheesy and hilarious. This, however, was done right. Perfect costumes, perfect music, perfect fantasy elements that look super cool and not cheesy at all.
Although not perfect this one is DEFINITELY worth watching.

Melt your heart enemies to lovers romance
I am in love with this historical romance drama. I love a good slow burn done right. And I’ve realized enemies to lovers might be my favorite romance trope.I thought the ml’s acting skills were superb. He was dense, clueless and innocent when needed, warlord when needed, and sensitive romantic partner. He portrayed all of these roles well. Plus he’s super nice to look at.
The only reason I didn’t give it the full 10 is because in the first half there were a lot of slow parts that I thought could have used some more action. And while the action came towards the end I felt a bit bored with the villains. It was the same song and dance with them and I thought it was drawn out.
All In all though this is DEFINITELY worth watching in my opinion.

I guess I’m in the minority
I guess I’m in the minority because I didn’t think this deserved a high rating at all. It was sooo slow and boring. I hated the side story. The ML’s emotional depth and facial expressions like that of a brown paper bag. The only redeeming thing about this show was the adorable little girl and her storyline. Was this review helpful to you?
Just cute
Okay so the ML is one of the reasons why I kept watching this show. I could watch him in a brown paper bag for 16 episodes and be just as happy. All that to say, this was a cute love story with a unique storyline. As others have said though, I do feel like they tried to put too many different things in one show. Murder mystery, romance, family drama, love triangle, gangsters, family curse. It def could have been simplified. But overall it was a cute story. Was this review helpful to you?
“ I wasn’t going to eat you but I guess I have no choice”
This was such a cute romance. The leads had great chemistry and Ha Seok-jin is dreamy to look at.I normally have to skip a lot of boring scenes in shows but I didn’t skip any in here. There were no boring side romances and the politics were simple and not hard to follow like some in some shows I’ve seen. Every episode was right to the point with no unnecessary fillers.

Must watch!
Wow wow wow…Do you ever watch those rare shows that leave you with speechless emotions and words at the end? This is it…I don’t give out 10/10 lightly and this one was an easy one to do so. Everything about this was amazing. The story, the acting ( I love me some Bai Jingting), the ost…
Can I erase my memory of this show just so I can watch it for the first time again and relive over and over the feeling you get at the end?
Run to watch this NOW.

What did I just watch?!?
This was the weirdest “love story” trying to hide behind great OST and cinematography. Would a man ACTUALLY fall for a woman like that in the real world? I mean I guess some would if she’s beautiful and they’re into the whole dominatrix, belittling, controlling, psycho type.I kept waiting for her to be…normal…
Alas…she was psycho through and through.

Amazing 1st half
I’m giving this a high rating for the first 2/3rds of the show and episode 26 (some of the funniest scenes I’ve seen in tv history).Towards middle end I was sooo bored I skipped through most of it. The focus kind of shifted away from their relationship journey into the more political side of the story and it was Zzzz.
But I love Zhao Lusi and will continue to watch anything she is in.

A masterpiece
I don’t give out 10/10’s lightly…this one will forever live in my heart. Every part of it was wonderful. It was a unique story and the writers did such a good a job. The actors were phenomenal and had me crying in many scenes. This is one of those that I will replay over and over in my mind. Truly the perfect love story done right. Was this review helpful to you?
An emotional masterpiece
This emotionally gripping perfect masterpiece of a love story is everything I didn’t know I needed. THIS is the epic love story that I wish I could watch for the first time over…and over…and over again. Also, we all need a Bai-Jingting boyfriend. Every green flag in the world. Plus…his looks are fire.

Only loved episodes 1-12
My review is based solely on episodes 1-12. I just didn't love it as much after she was revealed and they went to the mortal realm. I have so many questions why he never learned compassion and empathy from the decades he spent the first time in the mortal realm. Also, how did she go from trying to kill him all of the time to "OK let's spend 10 years in the mortal realm together."

Actually laugh out loud hilarious
There were so many moments where I was laughing out loud so hard. Most of the time in dramas I'm obly interested in the main romance plot. But oh my, these side group of guys just made the whole show along with ML's hilarious acting and good looks. It starts off SUPER cheesy but keep watching and give it a couple of episodes and I promise it gets soo cute with the romance and will have you laughing falling out of your chair.

Dylan Wang Stole The Show
Dylan wang stole the show with his exceptional acting skills. He's hilarious, serious, emotional, villain...he is truly a versatile actor. I felt all the feels during this drama because of him.The only reason I can't give it a 10 is because I really wish they would have chosen a less annoying fl. I don't know what he saw in her. Also, I wish there had been more chemistry/romance/kissing to enhance the emotions that should come along with watching a romance drama.
