I don’t think they left it open for a second season. They just cut Kai’s scenes that would have given more insight to how everything came to be to prioritize other characters. It’s baffling storytelling to be sure.

Yeah I feel like he will basically be 2nd ML in that one. The filming of it looked an absolute joke. I’m worried for that one. Poor guy 🙁

Hello, I read it over the weekend. It’s a cute, quick read 🙂

I just finished watching all the episodes and am feeling personally victimized by the last 3 episodes. The biggest victim in this whole drama is Xu Kai. What a waste.
What was the point of him going back into the past if they only bothered to show like 2 mins of it. How did he get back? How did he know where to find Wu Zhen? Why was nothing involving his actions in the past explored but we have copious amount of screen time for the snake crew and others? Please make it make sense. I feel the drama he filmed isn’t the drama we saw. I dunno what the editors or writer or director or whoever was thinking. This drama could have been so much better.
I am feeling so upset as I looked forward to this drama from its booting ceremony.
It has the visuals, cinematography, good cast, interesting subject matter, good OST and it just fell so flat at the end 🙁 I am however greatful for all the beautiful, if limited, shots of Kai and that will be my positive takeaway from this.

I’m genuinely not trying to hate cos I watched a few of her dramas before and liked her. I was excited to see her paired w Xu Kai (cos he’s my fave) and after this drama I feel like I don’t want to watch her anymore. 🫤I don’t know how to explain it better but this drama has put me off her . I didn’t feel any chemistry between her and Kai in their kissing scenes whether it was how the director chose to shoot them or pose them or what but usually Kai has really good kissing scenes but I really wasn’t feeling them either. Of course everyone is entitled to their opinion 🙂

Interesting -I’m just watching the final episode and I’m a huge crybaby-an emotional disaster if you will. Literally can cry over anything and I literally felt nothing watching her cry 😐

I’m only here for MZY at this point and he’s been absent since the beginning of ep 36 and I’m halfway through 37 now. WTF I have never in my 5 years of C drama watching seen such an absolute disaster unfold before my
Eyes. JUSTICE FOR XU KAI. Ima skip these two when I rewatch properly cos WHATS THE POINT. WHERES THE MALE LEAD. Lol

This drama is making me crazy. I’m still watching and where tf is Kai? Like wtf. It’s been more than an episodes length of time and he’s nowhere. I need to send out a search party

No it’s the actually film quality. Subs aren’t good it’s like a whole different vibe ? Like someone filmed it in their backyard lol like one of those fake YouTube dramas

Maybe cos it’s not transmigration? He’s going back in his own past not someone else’s and he didn’t “die” to wind up there?

Did we really just leave MZY in the past then go and focus on other characters? Who edited this? They should probably find a different profession. 🙄🙄🙄🙄

Chinese like word play so maybe it’s part of that?
