This is why the ending was so frustrating. This drama could have been really great but unfortunately was derailed by side characters. Such a shame. I will watch it again after some time because the good parts were so good.

I’m so disappointed by this final episode 🫠 I want to rate this drama highly to support XZ but the hockey trio really ruined everything this drama could have been. I wonder how many SY and JB scenes wound up on the cutting room floor. We went from nominated for award to immediate awards show. So many should have been main plot points became small side stories due to the lack of time for the MAIN CHARACTERS. Whoever edited and approved this needs to goooooo far away. What an utter waste
of XZ. 🥲

I want a remake of this but instead the plot focuses on SY, SC and PR starting their own company while SY’s loveable father cooks for them and offers sage advice 😅

She’s putting him in a no win situation. Really disappointed in that.

I wondered if it was because he gave up his status and became a commoner while she became a higher level official ?

I think the premise is she’s cold and he’s the sun to warm her up. I do feel like she was a bit rude in that part of episode you referenced.

He is pursuing her for the most part. Earlier on she says she’s not ready to jump back into a relationship and wants to be alone but she slowly starts to warm up to the idea of being with him. I think it’s very realistic, if not what people are hoping for.

I’m pretty sure for the most part, it’s just for the drama.

I didn’t feel that way from their convo. I agree, mom listed valid concerns and she says she doesn’t want him to suffer but to give the ultimatum of her or us is too much. Both choices are bad. Breaking with JB and settling will only lead to regret and resentment down the road. Breaking with the parents will do the same. I was glad that issue was not the age difference but if they really respect their son, they would let him figure it out for himself-without conditions.

Thoroughly enjoyed this drama. Full plot with a mature relationship, nice change from the usual over dramatics in a lot of dramas nowadays. Personally enjoyed the style of filming, really reminiscent of 1940/50’s Hollywood sweeping dramas (which I love) 🤗One of the best dramas of the year for me.

He’s not unattractive but he cannot compare to XZ. Anyways the character is annoying because he thinks he knows what’s best for JB based on the 5 mins of conversation they’ve had. They are suited for each other at all. He doesn’t understand her and he’s just looking for a marriage because he’s been single for a long time while she’s literally just got out of a marriage.

Can the hockey trio fall off this mountain they’re on? Someone push them into a crevasse. They second hand embarrassment is real. Who decided to devote so much screen time to this storyline, my goodness. Xiao Lin knows what’s up tho-letting JB know that SY is a diamond among coal 😌

The problem is obnoxious Jian Shuang keeps pushing him so he thinks he has a chance. If she would stop interfering he would probably give up. They should invest their energy in finding a teacher for him.
