I can agree with your viewpoint, I also felt like it was a bit rushed at the end but the rest of the drama is stunning in visuals and story. Even though it went in a different direction the performances and action were still very high level. I feel like to rate it so low does it a real disservice 😕 but everyone is entitled to their opinion I guess

I want to rewatch at a more leisurely pace not all at once so I can really appreciate it 🥲

I’m glad Da Si Ming turned out to be good overall. Heartbreak no 1 💔. Also, surprisingly glad Xuelu could get her act together. Really tragic end for Yuan after all that. If that garbage fire Bai Fenglin could have kept his ugly mouth shut, none of that would had to have happened 💔 wahhh well my face is red and puffy. Hope my skincare does the most in the few hours I have to sleep before work 😅

Don’t think I’ll get over this drama. I’m still not over The Untamed and it’s been almost 3 years since I saw that. Zhan Zhan truly is the most beautiful human on this earth. 🥹

I don’t think it’s like Chongzi tbh. Chongzi was a poor unlucky girl who was encouraged to joint the immoral (as I like to call them) sects. She was also used by the Demon clan (or whatever, I never finished it). In TLP, Zhu Yan is a princess who already practices magic and is looking for a way to save the Crown Prince. So far, Shi Ying isn’t an unhinged shifu letting his obsession control him.

He does realize his feelings for her. He took vows that he wouldn’t fall in love tho and he wants to stay true to them. That’s his moral dilemma at this point.

IMO pretty much everyone in this drama is attractive. Acting is more important than looks anyways to believe in the story. Ren Min might not fit a traditional beauty standard but she’s far from ugly. Similar to Ancient Love Poetry, people say Zhou Dong Yu isn’t pretty enough. I think she has her own charm and did not take any enjoyment away from the drama for me (it’s one of my all time faves).

From the previews it looks like she might be able to take some for herself

So far, there aren’t any of the usual over dramatics that a lot of dramas are prone to-maybe that’s why it seems boring. I find it refreshing and am just enjoying the beauty 😌

I thought her green outfit in yesterdays episodes was so flattering on her and really made her eyes stand out. The costumes and backgrounds are so beautiful in this drama 🥹
