Except XCS was actually not going to pursue her, yes, he flirted with her at first because YGH didn’t have the courage to stand up and say he was YGH but XCS was going to walk away from the situation but YF told him not to . If YGH had said “hey, don’t do that” no way Chunsheng would have regardless of his feelings. In any case the decision was with HHL because you cannot force your feelings.

I think the whole jewelry store bit was to show how a passion for your product is needed to build a successful business 😉 but it’s nice in the time when his lifelong friends let him down, he still has new friends to lift him up 🥲

Chunsheng needs to avoid people who have names starting with an H. No good will come from these people 😅

Also, CHJ finally gets a post where he is important and can help Chunsheng. Then he gets mad when Chunsheng is Chunsheng. For the first time he felt important and then he gets outshined again. This sets up the future events. I knew he was gonna go bad😒

CHJ wasn’t illiterate…he is over educated. He doesn’t get respect that he wants because he’s always been in XCS and co shadows. He couldn’t stand up for himself and let the bigger boys help him. This is why he will have these issues in his career. He will always be a lackey to the strongest person. He doesn’t have enough conviction on his own. It doesn’t help that Ye Fang doesn’t support his actions (for valid reasons) but he doesn’t have the confidence to be like Chunsheng. Idealistic people like Chunsheng and Xiaomei are rare because as Ye Guohua and He Hongling show us there is always an “easier” way. It doesn’t mean they don’t do any hard work but they are happy to take from others if it suits their needs.

Also, Xiaomei doesn’t go to Chunsheng to help herself like all his other friends do. She offers her help to him instead. When everyone relies on Chunsheng to fix their problems, she’s the one to help him 🥹

Well in the previews there’s some issue with her parents and her situation so I do wonder what she did 🫣

Agree with the bulk of what you said-however, YGH was just trying to find Chunsheng and not leave him behind, that’s how he wound up in his situation. Perhaps someone other than him wouldn’t have stepped on the mine but things happen in war. I don’t think it’s fair to him to be called “stupid”, in that case. Anyways, it’s all very unfortunate that Chunsheng is a better person than all of them. He’s the one putting on the brave face despite everything that’s happening to him and still encouraging YGH to follow his dreams (taking the benefits that Chunsheng provided) and HHL to follow hers. I understand HHL’s choice, it’s just sad when she clearly knows that Chunsheng would have given up everything if the situation was reversed. It’s interesting the way Chunsheng shows a brave face to everyone except Xiaomei. I’m really looking forward to their relationship growing.
