I don’t mind the cliches and tropes but like have them in the same frame going through them? Not have them apart for like 6 eps for no reason….

I don’t understand the reasoning for keeping them apart for like 5+ episodes in a 36 episode show…

Saw the preview for ep 23….they still haven’t reunited. What is the point of keeping your two main leads apart for like 5+ episodes?! What kind of writers are these?

Fugui misses Qingtong, he references his times in Huadeng village with Qingtong. He wants to restore his inner strength to break the banishment spell to go find her but he can’t so he hides the longing to himself. 🥺

Fugui listening to Rumu’s love story and sacrifice and said it’s not worth it….ooohh famous last words. Yeah no he’s gonna eat his own words in his own love story later. 😭

Waiting for this episode where Qingtong finally drops the “master” part and just calls him Fugui. 🥺

Now that I’ve fallen for this couple, what are the chances I get a happy ending for this last installment of the series? 😭

I love that Fugui never refutes nor deny their relationship. When the old lady calls her his wife. Or even in his own thoughts when he questioned how Quan Jing Ting knew about his and Qingtong’s relationship in an inner monologue…”No one can touch HER…” Swoon! and his first word when he woke up from the coma was her name…ahh my ship heart!

Will the main couple become more romantic later on?

The irony of the audience misunderstanding Song Yimeng the same way she misunderstood Nan Heng, well played Mr.Scriptwriter.

Song Yimeng had Nan Heng so down bad he helped her planned his own assassination. Gave up his army for her. Took lashes for her. Took stabs for her. Died TWICE for her. Gave up his full power as future king to ensure she would feel secure in marrying him. Ultimately giving up his throne to join her in the modern world. The godly devotion Nan Heng had for Song Yimeng is unmatched 😭

Folks want a complex female character but can’t even handle Song Yimeng. I love tropes where a tall, strong, handsome, & ruthless male character gets reduced to a puddle of tears for a female lead half his size. I eat it up everytime. Make him cry some more. 😭

TPOB is good just for the romance for the enemies to lovers trope. Everything else is uninteresting. Me having been and is still a fan of both dramas, but make no mistake, ADWAD obviously had the better script. Anyone who says different is just a really big fan of the romance.

ADWAD. It had the better overall script (no pun intended). TPOB I think only serves well in the romance department, everything else I thought was pretty boring including the political aspects & I don’t care for 50% of the side characters. ADWAD had the best script overall in terms of storytelling, romance, politics, and every side character was entertaining. Nan Heng is the most interesting character I’ve seen in a good while. ADWAD is probably one of the best of its genre, it’s the one transmigration drama I can think of that actually makes use of the fact that they are in a script & uses the mechanisms (ml must save fl, iconic scenes must be carried out) of a script against itself. Other transmigration dramas use the fact that they are in a book/script as an afterthought to give the characters a happy ending to not piss off the audience after probably killing off the main characters in the ‘book’ but ADWAD actually uses the fact that they are in a script to its fullest capacity

And what’s funny is that Nan Heng would kill anyone that said those comments about Song Yimeng. He never played about her. 🤷‍♀️

Rewatching when Song Yimeng finally found out Li Shi Liu is Nan Heng. It was a devastating last blow to her. Imagine thinking all this time you had successfully changed the script. The one plot point she thought she had complete control over: whom she loved, which was anyone except Nan Heng, only to find out that in the end it was still him she loved. In the original script, he tricked Song Yimeng into loving him. In the newly changed script, he tricked her again as Li Shi Liu, albeit this time he was in love too. But realizing that was probably pretty devastating, bc no matter how hard she tried, the script will still force her hand whether or not the characters had good or bad intentions. People give her a lot of crap about being dumb or dense, but ultimately she was right. Why start a romance that is bound to be doomed whether or not both are in love? And ultimately she was right, both of them along with their loved ones had to die horrific deaths twice, with Song Yimeng having to watch Nan Heng die first for her each time, in order to finally be together.

I love the little details in the show. In the beginning Shangguan He tries to help Nan Heng by writing love letters to Song Yimeng as Li Shi Liu and she thought his poems were super cringey. And then when Nan Heng finally wrote the letter himself, she was actually charmed by it. It just goes to show she was always in love with the real him. And also whenever Song Yimeng would get a flashback of the three way stabbing scene, she would always focus on her getting stabbed but after falling in love with Nan Heng whenever she got those flashback the focus was more on him, indicating she was falling in love with him that him getting hurt was more of a concern to her than herself getting stabbed

Saw a comment that said Song Yimeng has cat energy. Even though she liked Nan Heng, she still attacked him. 🤣
