I saw a funny comment saying YL has slapped both XD and the emperor. She has slapped 2 of the most powerful men in the kingdom and they’re still obsessed with her LOL
Whether or not this show was good for his career or not, it was excellent for his craft development. The amount…
I think the show was good for his career. He got to portray a lot of expressions and XD is such an attractive and charismatic alpha male character to play. I think the drama reach 9000 heat index once on iQiyi which I heard was good for a A+ production drama. It does fine on ratings and it has a decent score on Douban.
If you pay attention to the different illustrations in the opening, there is one showing an imperial guarding…
I feel like people are thinking the ending might be a “play within a play”. Like they are actors acting in a show and maybe real life XD and YL are together
She also blindingly trusted him to drink that poison wine even when she had no clue what his plan was. And killing…
i guess since they took this route, they should have just made her father somewhat of a good guy so there is actually a reason to justify pleading for his life.

Right! Not to mention her father is a imperial official. Why get both of you in more trouble than you already are by killing him? It wouldn't bring his brother back to life, and you would also have to live with the fact that you killed her father while also bedding her? It's just something worse than honestly just getting over the hatred.
I noticed there are some fans upset that YinLou tried to stop XD from killing her father for revenge. Even though he wasn’t much of a father to her in the first place….he’s still by all means her biological father. I’m sure in her childhood memories, somewhere somehow she must have viewed him as a father even if he is a damned man. Some believe that the love between XD and YL is unequal, that XD seems to love her more than she loves him. Did she not risk her life on that boat to save him from the two assassin with a sword she doesn’t know how to use? Did she not try to disfigure herself to avoid sleeping with the king? Did she not risk her own life to have this affair? Did she not try to find out about the real killer for him? She has no fight skills whatsoever, yet she still did all of that for him. I think they would die for each other, so it’s a bit unfair when some folks believes he loves her more…no…it’s just he’s in more of a position of power and strength to demonstrate that rather than her life as a concubine.
I’ve never watched a drama where it’s implied the couple sleeps together a LOT lol. No wonder most is censored. And I guess they get caught when the emperor catches them going to bed
