LY is so hot oh my god. He just switches so effortlessly from a sweet man we seen last episode to full on passionate and angry this episode. So angry at QY her scarring herself. And so passionate when confessing his love for her to QX. He admitted to disliking her in the beginning and then somewhere along the way he yearned to see her again and again. He said he will do anything to win her love and is willing to fight QX for her love. Swoon. I love that even though he said that, all his actions have been fair. No one forced QX to sleep with QM. No one forced QY to be his concubine. LY is winning her love fair and square. He protected her family. He accepted all her flaws and her ambitions. QY is a hard girl to love and is hard for her to fall in love, knowing how stubborn and impulsive she can can. And yet he loves her as she is. And it’s very clear he’s been letting QX win in the past (ancient golf, etc) but he wants a fair fight for QY if it comes to that. There’s so many facets to this character, I love how multi-layered he is. He can be sweet and downright adorable like we’ve seen in yesterday’s episode but once he raises his voice there would be hell to pay. How he deals with QX is different than how he deals with the likes of YL. I love that he understands how he feels about QY. There’s no confusion inside his head that he loves her. A man who knows what he wants but doesn’t step on another to get it (cough cough QM).

It’s 650 million now. Anyone who’s well verse in Chinese viewership knows what this means? I know it’s a small production drama so I can’t really compare it to other big names and big budget dramas.

LY listening to QM and QY argue at the beginning of the episode. Man he must feel such a relief to dodge such a bullet to have an arranged marriage with QM. So vile. LY running home like a maniac after meeting with the Emperor to make sure QY and his mom doesn’t kill each other lmao. Then when drinking wine together that rainy night, she noticed the bracelet on his wrist and suggests he also puts on the other bracelet on his other hand! I legit laughed lol!I like that on that rainy night, two couples are shown, foiling each other. One couple understands one another while the other couple is just downright miserable. I love that LY is such a mama’s boy, he listens to and respects his mother. He’s been like a little kid, I’ve never seen him act so young outside his ruthlessness and coldness towards the outside world. His expressions and nuances are on point, credits to the actor. LY has fallen so hard for QY. He begged her! So he can be able to sleep in the same room as her again. Let me look around to make sure no one is around when I beg my wife. And yielded to her again seconds later. Also there are so many references of grandchildren in these 2 episodes I hope we get to see them at the end of the show.

LY can’t sleep on the bed without QY in the same room but he can sleep on the floor as long as QY is in the room. My heart! He yields to her every time. Pretending or not, they already act like they’ve been married for a long time.

I’m gonna get a cavity from how sweet the last 2 episodes have been! Finally some development from QY!

I actually don’t understand why QX feels so strongly for QY. They had like what? One date? And it was filled with LY & his mother lol. They drank wine. And a friendly game of ancient golf (filled with LY also lol), and some trickery from QY, I didn’t feel like their relationship was that strong enough for him to believe that he loves her. It barely scratched the surface. But I guess for him one date was enough lol.

It really rubbed me the wrong way when QM thinks the place where QY lived was dirty and didn’t want to step foot in it….then goes around and drug/seduce a guy who is clearly not in love with her.

I would like to point out QM drugging QX is really just as bad as what was done to her.

“She only sings for me.” “You’re my woman, am I not allowed to get pissed when I see you get intimate with another man?” Swoon, they keep giving LY these great one-liners

I feel like up until this point, the episodes have pretty much been lighthearted and all the main characters are all alive and well. Episodes 19 and 20 just reminded us of the stakes. QM’s story just turned very dark, which is a stark contrast from the light humor and lightheartedness that we have been seeing.

“I know that you like me”. LY’s face was priceless, feeling so caught! And I am a sucker for jealous scenes, in any drama. He told her that being jealous wasn’t entirely an act and it just went over her head, per usual. And come on, he gave her the necklace she likes, and she believes it’s just a thank you for helping him pick bride gifts for her sister. So dense in her head, come on QY, even the villains are figuring it out before you. No man in the world would go through all of that just because he wants to save the sister in law lol. He’s spending loads and loads of money just to protect your virtue! It’s like the hints he is giving her is lost on her, so he really just might as well tell her he likes her lol. I just find really ironic LY spent the earlier half of the show thinking QY is some gold digger who’s just trying to find a rich husband and climb the social ladder. And now LY is spending loads of money on her and lavishing her with gifts. Oh how the mighty has fallen! The tides do change! Karma? I would say so lol.

I understand people’s concern about the FL and ML not being together yet….but if they get together too soon, the rest of the episodes is going to be pretty boring lol, considering there are 34 episodes. I prefer a slow burn, which we are getting. And QY is currently going through life and death stuff right now, her predicament is not gonna allow her to feel anything other than survival. Give her some time, no woman in any time era in her right mind would be looking to fall in love when your life and family’s lives are hanging in the balance.

Wow was not expecting the 2 episodes to be so dark for QM.. To be violated and then later use it as a weapon. I guess this is her origin villain story.

I know some people thought it was really stupid of QY to put her name tag up on the Royal Academy. But you really have to consider perspective. From our point of view, we think it’s stupid because we clearly see LY planning and plotting to save her and her family. We are literally watching it on screen, but QY doesn’t get that benefit, she’s living it. So in her mind, LY is someone who just broke off the marriage with her sister and apparently likes that chick in the royal academy he goes to see. QY can’t see what LY is doing to help, she’s not the audience lol. So knowing all of that, she just realize she’s stuck there forever, a life sentence honestly. So instead of wanting to stay there washing clothes and cleaning toilets forever, she would rather live in luxury and entertain guests, where I’m pretty sure she had plans to at least “ distract “ them from their lustful thoughts lol, or for however long she could.

I really love how LY truly understands how QY operates as a person. Knowing her impulsiveness and stubbornness. You can see it well when he tricked her into drinking that soup. QX would have never really truly understood her as a person. Had they somehow gotten married, he will always try to placate her or suppress her ambitions in some way, the same way her father has all her life. With LY, she could be the person she wants to be, he can handle her so much more effectively, directing her attention elsewhere or convincing her with his wits. It really shows how experienced he is with the imperial court, it takes a certain level of intelligence and ruthlessness to rise to power in such a way where even the emperor is weary of his growing connections. So if LY can handle the imperial court where many men have tried to knock him down from power, he can certainly handle QY with ease, which he so often does. Same goes to QM and LY, he would have treated her kindly but she’s nowhere near his level of wit and will, he would never be happy with her and she will sooner or later fear his ruthlessness when tough things have to get done, even if that means offending her. So I’m excited pieces are getting together for our couple. Im really curious to see them as parents, can you imagine how smart and wild that kid will be? I can imagine QY and their kid causing trouble and LY have to go out of his way to get them out of it lol.

The irony of QY breaking things off with QX and QY getting the couple bracelet taken off with LY all on Valentine’s Day lol.

I like how ML said that “the guy is her enemy, so therefore he is my enemy too.” I’m sure it ran over her head because she doesn’t realize he already likes her.
