Is this episode considered cannon ? Episode 35 totally broke my heart and when I found out about this special ep, I knew I had to watch it. However, even with the happy ending for the couple(s), I’m still left wondering if this was released to appease the viewers or would it be considered cannon. And If it’s cannon, then it’s left even more questions for the audience. How did Chu Yue wake up? Were their lives for real or all this time just a story told by Mr GuanShan? There are just too many things left unanswered for this to be considered cannon within the logic of the story. But nevertheless, I’m still grateful this episode existed because for sure I was gutted by that ending.
I could be wrong but I think I saw him in one of the bts videos during the filming of An Eternal Thought with Zheng Yecheng and Sun Yi. If so, I hope Mydramalist will update his work credits.
I love Zheng Ye Cheng so much! He’s an amazing actor not to mention really good looking, but please give him more dramas with happy endings. Most dramas I’ve seen of him are just too sad or ambiguous.
This is not a bad drama, however like one of the reviewers said, it is ruined by editing and pacing. It went from relatively draggy to super rushed at the end. The main cast are all capable actors but this is honestly a terrible mash up. The three leads have no chemistry whatsoever. That said, despite the crappy writing of his character, Zheng Yecheng still made Zhen Lan the most beloved and admirable character to the bitter end.
Can someone who watched this tell me which episode Zhu Yan appears in. I am waiting to watch the Longest Promise…
I just finished this drama. I binged it all in one go so I can’t definitively tell you which episodes, but she does appears twice in this drama as flashbacks. She should appear when Sumo and Bai Ying goes into Jiuyi Mountain to visit her ancestral site (around ep 22-25 I believe). The actress that played her is also very pretty 😊
I’m sorry if this sounds ignorant, but is this drama related to Mirror Tale of Twin Cities?? I just got to the part where the names Shi Ying and Zhu Yan were mentioned and realized they’re characters featured in Xiao Zhan’s upcoming drama. The synopsis for this drama also mentioned Kong Sang continent. Can anyone confirm ?
ZYC’s visual in this drama is so on point. He looked so good it actually kinda hurts my eyes to look at him sometimes lol However, all jokes aside, he seems bored throughout the drama. I’ve seen the majority of his dramas and I’ve never seen him so stifled acting-wise. But I guess the character of Shen Yan doesn’t require too much work and he’s just performing how his character was written. And I’m glad this drama gave him more exposure. Still, his performances in his other works definitely trumps this.
This drama is actually quite good. There are few things that you would need to suspend your disbeliefs on for sure but it is definitely binge worthy. ZYC is amazing as usual and I was pleasantly surprised by JJY despite the fact she has very limited range in her acting; however her performance in the last episode is actually quite good. As for her chemistry with ZYC I will say it is a questionable issue - sometimes it’s there and sometimes it’s not. They are adequately physically compatible however that spark just isn’t there. I’m bias when it comes to ZYC so I will say the problem lies with JJY. But all that aside, it’s a very thought-provoking drama and pretty easy to watch. I would say the end is HEA albeit presented unsatisfactory, or just not given enough time. The OST for this drama though is sooo good. I love just about every track.
On another note, Why is it that most of ZYC’s dramas always have such bittersweet and ambiguous ending??? Like seriously. Pleaseee just give him a clear HEA with no BS, jeeze.
Lol- say it loud so they hear you in the back. Xuanji always gets alot of criticism because people say that Sifeng…
That was really eloquently put! You’re right, Si Feng is amazing but he does have an annoying self-sacrificing tendency - that in itself if a form of selfishness. If he was straight with her all that drama never would have happened even with Hao Chen’s meddling. Xuanji does get a lot of flack for the way their relationship unraveled but it goes both ways.
I'm intereted in watching this. Does it have a intense romance with lots of angst? is the love story epic? Also,…
This is a very good drama. The romance is probably one of the best I’ve seen since 10 miles or AOL, and even then it surpasses those dramas. The male lead set the bar really high this time, he’s such an incredible character. As for passion/kisses, keep an eye out for episode 52*wink*
