He's not a good person and that's a fact. But, if you want to watch a show that admits that the ML is flawed and…
I totally agree. Li Cheng Yin is extremely flawed but also extremely complex. He is the definition of an antihero and yet I can’t help but like him; Cheng Xing Xu did a really good job portraying him.
I need some enlightenment.... 1) how long did it take for them to be together?2) romance slow paced or normal
I think the pacing for the romance is pretty well done, not so slow burn that you’re frustrated but not so fast that it fizzles out. And sweetest male lead ever ❤️
Liu Xue Yi has a knack for playing good looking, scheming a**hole. Crystal Yuan’s voice dubber is so annoying, her high pitch voice takes away the gravity of a lot of the emotional scenes. Cheng Yi is amazing in here, but unfortunately (or fortunately) his performance also eclipsed CY’s with his superior acting skills IMO.
I agree! He played so well in here, we really need more of his dramas! But towards the end why didn’t they end…
She suffered a health ailment that was related to an injury she previously sustained. She didn’t wanna break his heart so she chose to leave so that he wouldn’t have to witness her passing.
There’s too much going on in this drama, but Yang Zi and Allen Ren’s acting is pretty on point, and there’s decent chemistry between them. I love the soundtrack especially the song Thousand Years.
I liked Allen Ren from Under The Power but I feel like this drama does him better justice. It allows him to show the different facet of his character and not just the grumpy look. And the love story is quite the bomb. The villains just makes you wanna tear your hair off because they’re so despicable. I initially really liked Wan Qian’s character Jing Yao because she’s a heroine and a strong warrior. However once she married Li Chu she became the typical jealous unloved wife who manipulates people to achieve what she wants. It’s a shame because I held her in such high esteem. Jing Tian as Shen Zhen Zhu is kind and has the smarts however she does suffer a bit of a mary-sue, although not overly so. She just needs to learn to bite back harder. But overall, Allen Ren = Love.
*Update* Although this drama ended on a sad note, I have to say it is such a beautiful, bittersweet closure to a love story. This is the first C-drama I’ve watched that chose to close the ending in such a poignant way. I’m so haunted by Allen Ren’s performance in here - especially their last scene. It’s so heartwrenching yet strangely satisfying at the same time. I guess it’s because their relationship only truly ended at the last minute of the drama, so viewers aren’t left as heartbroken and bereft (looking at you Goodbye My Princess). Gosh, Allen Ren needs to be utilized more, he has so much talent!! Although the whole cast is stellar, I have to say Allen really brought this drama to life. Also Wan Qian, her character Jing Yao redeemed herself at the end, I’m truly glad the spirit of her character was kept intact. The OST also deserves an honorable mention, I especially love the track performed by Allen, it’s so good and fitting. The cast has excellent chemistry all around. Jing Tian and Allen look truly gorgeous in here. Love love this drama! BTW, I noticed that this drama is probably the only one where Allen actually has a proper kissscenes with his leading lady.
I’ve known about goblin for years because of Gong Yoo but strangely has always been reluctant to watch the show. Just started a few days ago, and wow it blew my mind. The two leads Gong Yoo and Kim Go Eun are amazing, especially Ki Go Eun! I’ve never seen a more unassuming, natural, and talented actress like her for quite some time. She’s truly a gem among the starlets in South Korea and the simplicity of her beauty just stuns me. I Hope she’ll do more dramas in the future; she’s just too precious! Also, I suppose this is a good time to pick up Goblin since she has a new drama with Lee Min Ho coming out soon in April on Netflix ❤️
Watched the finale today and pretty satisfied so far. There are some plot points that could be improved, and the pacing - lets just say this is one of the few dramas where I wished for more episodes. The pacing is fast, so fast in fact that I literally have a hard time grappling at certain events that goes on in the show, and next thing you know it’s something else happening again. It’s been a while since I’ve watched a drama that moves this fast, kinda reminds me of 90s era wuxia drama. Also I wished they introduced Su Ying earlier because she’s such a great foil to Xiaoyu’er character. But I totally am smitten with Zhen Zhe Yuan, he’s amazing!
I’m following this on Netflix at ep 24 already. I initially watched this for Hu Yi Tian but dang if Zhen Zhe Yuan didn’t grow on me. He’s such a great XiaoYu’er! So whacky, cunning, smart and adorable. Hua Wu Que is pretty to look at but no offense so boring. And when is Su Ying gonna appear? I’ve been dying to see Liang Jie!
This drama is amazing! Like most people, I came here for Wang YiBo after seeing him in The Untamed. I expected to zoom through the drama for WYB’s sake, but instead the story and characters made the journey so poignant and beautiful. For 35 episodes, it managed to squeeze in so much, from bromance to romance, story and characters development. Everyone had their chance to shine and their stories to tell, and it was so beautiful seeing how much love and care these characters give each other ( or how much hate). I’ve been smitten with WYB since The Untamed but I’m truly, really head over heels for him in here. His interactions and dynamics with each characters is different and it brought out the different facets of his character’s personality. I especially love his chemistry with the female lead and their slow burn romance. It was incredible watching them overcome initial misunderstandings, then gradually becoming best friends before becoming a couple. Although they did not (strangely) have a lot of lovey dovey scenes together as a couple, it doesn’t mean every scenes of them aren’t sweet and romantic. There’s so much good things to say about this drama (of course no drama is perfect but the pros really outweigh the cons here) but in all, I’m just glad to have discovered this gem! Hope WYB and WZX will collaborate again in the future! As a side note, I just realized WYB collaborated with his boo Xiao Zhan’s XNine buddy (Yan Xu Jia who played Xia Ling) in this drama prior to the Untamed! P.s. So happy WYB got to show off his dancing skills in the Special!!
Xiao Zhan first caught my eyes from this trailer; I was low-keyed infatuated with him but now after The Untamed I’m really psyched to see this drama air soon!
I binge-watched this pretty much in one sitting so all the details and plot points became really overwhelming to follow but I never lost track of the story, and I think the creators never truly lost sight of the main goal. There were several sub-plots that admittedly were tedious to watch but in hindsight they were actually intertwined to the main plot and it’s what pushes the story forward. I feel like this is a very underrated drama which I’m surprised considering the phenomenal acting of Sophie Zhang, Jing Chao, Aarrif Lee, and of course the scene stealer Leo Luo Yunxi. I have liked Leo since A Iifetime Love, then Ashes of Love, but Princess Silver is what made truly fall in love with him. His portrayal of Rong Qi is so sad and tragic that it’s forever seared in my mind. Never have I ever seen a character that embodied tragedy like Rong Qi did or more deserving of love. From the moment he was born his life was never his; for all the sufferings that he went through he never wavered in his love for Qin Man/Rong Le/Man Yao. Everything that he ever did was for her. It was truly shocking what he had chose to do in the end to save Rong Le; even now I’m still feeling disturbed from that scene. Kudos to Luo Yunxi, I do believe this may be his best performance yet (even better than Ashes of Love) despite his limited screen time. Sophie Zhang is another surprise for me. I first saw her from 15 years of migratory Birds with Sun Yi and Deng Lun but she didn’t really left much of an impression. But I was truly impressed with her in PS. Despite being the youngest of the cast, her acting has definitely made her stand out among the fellow actors. She has a certain charisma that really attracts the viewers and I really liked her chemistry with Aarrif Lee. It’s strange but I initially did not like them together, at least not until after their first fallout and eventual reconciliation. It seemed to me their chemistry took a notch up from that event and really made viewers sympathize with their plight. Rong Le’s relationship with Aarrif’s Wu You is not quite as explosive and sizzling (like Ashes of Love or 10 Miles) but nevertheless still passionate and enduring and I truly enjoyed all the scenes of them together. Special mentions also goes to Jing Chao and Chen XinYu who portrayed Fu Chou and Hen Xiang respectively. Overall this is a great series and I do recommend it, just keep in mind this a multi-arc story drama, so some patience is needed. And definitely keep some tissues ready for the last few episodes.
Why is it surprising Chang Chen and Nini is in a tv drama?
Chang Chen has only ever been in cinema films. This will be his first drama ever. He’s been in well-known works like Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon, Brotherhood of Blades, etc.. Same goes for Ni Ni; her first drama was with Chen Kun in Rise of Phoenixes.
Can I just add how poor this amnesia arc is compared to TMOPB. I understand if she forgets Chengyin but how in…
Probably because Gu Jian also had a hand in the massacre of her family. She’s always believed her family was still safe and happy in Western Liang and never would’ve thought they were dead. If she can deceive her memory to believe so then of course she can also convinced it that all the people who have hurt her doesn’t exist. It’s the precipice her mind refuses to leap over because it brings back too much pain for her.
Whoa Chang Chen in a tv drama? And this Ni Ni’s only second drama. This is some stellar cast ... I thought the teaser gave me a bit 10 Miles vibe, no wonder why since it’s helmed by Lin Yu Fen. Any release date on this drama??
I’m quite surprised how enjoyable this drama is. Didn’t hear much about this but I’ve been missing Raymond so thought I should give this a try. I was surprised how likeable Tang Yixin turned out to be since I’ve only seen her in evil or frivolous roles (e.g.Lu Zhen and Zhu Xian). She’s very expressive, maybe sometimes exaggeratedly so, but in all she’s actually quite good.I really like her chemistry with Raymond, but surprisingly even more so with Jing Gangshan, the actor who portrayed Raymond’s father. The way he jealously guards her as a treasure and conquest really said something about his state of mind...
