Lee Seung Gi the man who sued his company for mistreatment is now just watching these trainees suffer, even smilingly saying "Its just a few times" or "You wanted to be kpop idols right" gaslighting to the max. This man who was mistreated before, the hypocrisy that this man has is disgusting. Man stands and sings for his concert, he has no right to advocate for this while he himself never went through it
Eric mentioning that the dance was already tiring for him, and then them expecting these trainees to do it tens of times in top condition is insane and not justifiable
Just a friendly reminder: overly sensitive ppl should stay away from k-survival shows and kindly see some teasers…
I have watched most of these shows you mentioned and even a lot of chinese survival shows, maybe all chinese survival shows. None of them was close to the brutality the showed this ep, none. So im not sure what you are claiming but otherwise come with evidence or facts that happened in these shows. I think the closest to this might have been in produce camp where the boys just slept with 100 peeps in one room, and had to practice and show the theme song in 24 hrs.
Its not the brutal comments, those are common. But them expecting a 100 after 10 rounds of nonstop dancing, them not judging on singing but lipsyncing implying as if vocals dont matter, them not cading about their healthconditions and sipping water while these guys are bawling. These are what pisses us off for a good reason. We dont want them to sacrifice their health as normal people would wish for.
Choi Youngjoon is the one who has the most sense currently as judge, and idk what the hell Lee Seung Gi is on.
If they preceded as normal just filming their evaluation and judging them on that it would have been perfectly fine. But no, idk what they wanted to achieve with this
Ep.2 was crazy like for real but we have to realise that people will brutally torment these boys if they aren't…
They signed up to be an idol. They could have recorded the 68 trainees evaluation, rate them based on A WHOLE PERFORMANCE for where they were most likely in a BETTER CONDITION and not where they were on the verge of throwing up blood, dehydrated and absolute depressed. And this was all after intense practicing.
They didnt sign up to become fitness coaches, they didnt sign up for military, they didnt sign up for health affecting activities. They signed up to be idols, they are not gods of stamina.
Now they are rated based on poor standards, in worse conditions and even on lipsyncing. What you mean Zai didnt get a pass because he didnt lipsync well? What about actual vocals? Its okay to let them dance to death as long as they can lipsync?? What about vocals?
They expect them to be in top condition after dancing tens of times, even veterans dont dance their own song 50 times at concert. Its absolute maniac, ask those judges to dance and trainees to judge. They should set an example as seniors right?:)
Its absolute laughable too that they dont even need to sing, well goodbai this industry we will just hire backstage singers.
Your arguments dont hold up, they are humans and they have limits too. We all had stamina tests during PE, what if your teacher asks you to keep running way beyond your limits. Its not fair, not healthy and absolutely not right or justifiable.
As an avid go ahead fan, Im liking the small changes they made to the main leads to differentiate them from the go ahead story line.
Kang Haejun in Go Ahead was absolutely too nice, to the point he could praise the floor Ju Won walked on. He never talked back to her and did his best to always be this flawless brother. Thats why it was especially heartbreaking to see how he desperately wanted to be a family with Ju Won and thought the only way to do so was to be in a relationship with her. I like how in this version he seems to be a lot less romantically involved (as far as I can see for now) and that he actually has some backbone instead of always agreeing with Ju Won
I also like the San Ha changes they made. He seems way less gloomy and more outspoken. In Go Ahead you can sense the immense dread and depression this guy was harboring and how closed off he was. I really like how he seems more expressive of his wants and also how he clearly (altho not as clear to Ju Won) expresses his likes towards her
Ju Won also seems way less goofy, and a lot more happy and enthusiastic. In Go Ahead she was this tomboy, always making a mess of everything and having her brothers to fix all her problems behind her back. She also was a lot more dependent on her brothers and overall just had a tad bit of rebelliousness on her. This Ju Won seems more like a nice kid, very happy and just very much a foodie.
I can see the Go Ahead story reflecting, but im also glad they put some pleasant twists to the characters so that you cant really compare both versions. I can see that they are going for a livelier approach and Im betting everything that they will make San Ha's mom only 1/10th as paranoia as his Go Ahead counterpart (that mom was impeccable chilling and scary to the point you will applaud the actress for being able to portray that). His sister also actually seems nice and not selfish and egoitistical, so that probs will also already alleviate the mood throughout the show.
I dont know if I missed it, but did they ever dub One Life, One Incarnation, Beautiful Bones?
In the book they ended up dubbing the iconic phrase of it at the end, and to me it made a perfect connection from OLOIBB (also known as One and Only + Forever and Ever the dramas) to Really, Really Miss you. But in the drama they didnt do it right? Or did I totally skip over it
Im gonna miss Kang Min the most. Didnt root foor Sol Hee x Kang Min, but Kang Min was by far my favorite character. He really was the brains of this whole drama lol
I loved the book, I loved the series as much. I am an avid fan of the book and they all totally nailed it.
Zhao Lusi's every second, every moment captured the essence of a quircky little sister, a young girl in love and a mature woman from the inside. The innocence and pureness of a small girl in love and her process to sincerely love someone touched me so much. I replayed a lot of moments where I was just captured by her facial expressions because they were so good. How I imagined Sang Zhi from the book was totally brought to life by Zhao Lusi, no one else could have portrayed her better.
Chen Zheyuan totally proved me wrong. I thought he might be a bit too "young" to play Jiaxu, but he was amazing. He wasnt as sly as I imagined Jiaxu or as flirty/greasy, but I like how they made him a more in-depth person. In the book he was just an older brother, a sly old fox and even though he had that whole story behind him, I felt like his persona wasnt as deep. He felt more playboyish and Sang Zhi's concerns of central airconditioner was pretty accurate lol. But in the series he was more funny, more outgoing and less flirty. But you could see how he tries to cover up his pains by smiling, smiling through it all. I love how Cheyuans eyes can speak and whenever he confessed about his past, how his eyes become a bit glazy like he looks back and experienced it all over again. How Jiaxu was heavily impacted and how he slowly healed with time.
I loved Sang Yan so much lol and the whole family dynamic. In the book Sang Yan was a bit more "rude", I kinda felt like he didnt care about his sister as much as in the series. I loved the bickering in the series and how Sang Yan actually always pampers Sang Zhi. I really felt like they were brothers and sisters that care for each other but are like Tom and Jerry in disguise.
Another thing that they did well was Jiang Ying's involvement. In the books she was a psycho, a total creepy girl that gave me total goosebumps. In the series she was heavily toned down and she wasnt as stalkerish or as pesky as in the books. But I felt like they dealed with her too abruptly in the series. Jiaxu just gave her a warning letter and they never showed her again afterwards. It didnt go deeply about how it reached this point and how hard she affected his life. In the book she never stopped stalking him even after he moved houses or changed phone numbers. In the series Sang Zhi and Jiaxu once met Jiaxu's old classmate and he asked if he wasnt together with Jiang Ying. In the book the classmate actually asked if he wasnt going to marry Jiang Ying. Marry yes. This girl legit thought that he had to take full responsibility and that he had to marry her so that she could torture him for life. She was that psycho. She then didnt meet Sang Zhi in the ktv as in the series, but she actually stalked her and confronted her in a public washroom. Sang Zhi then came to realize how hard Jiaxus life was (he was in the middle of pursuing Sang Zhi) and after telling Jiang Ying that Jiaxu is also a victim and that he didnt ran over her dad, she ran to Jiaxu and asked if they could be together. She ensured him that he isnt his dad and his dad's debts arent his. That he shouldnt think he didnt deserve happiness and how she was willing to be with him. She didnt want him to suffer anymore.
Sang Zhi also isnt weak willed like as shown when her supervisor made her internship harder because Jiang Ying was her friend. She actually relatively quickly took matters in her own hand by not working overtime, by speaking up and overall standing up because she found it unfair. Like Sang Yan and Jiaxu said, she didnt have to be bullied and money wasnt an issue for her. She knew her worth and she knew that her supervisor was wrong in bullying her at worktime, not differentiating between private and work matters.
Back to Jiang Ying however, afterwards she tried to contact Jiaxu again and he made it clear that he wasnt his dad. I remember how he said "If I am responsible for my dads actions and if my dad ran over your dad equals to ME running over YOUR dad, dont you also have to die with your dad?" He knew he was harsh and he knew that his words werent entirely right, but he really tried to make clear that what his dad has done, that that doesnt mean that HE did it. Just like how when her dad died, it doesnt mean that she has to die. Jiang Ying then never appeared in front of him again and Sang Zhi then later came to hear from her supervisor that Jiang Ying was also quite pitiful and that she hopes Sang Zhi can forgive her. Jiang Ying got her karma as her step father also ran over a person and the family came to trouble Jiang Ying in public. Sang Zhi saw and heared Jiang Ying screaming "It was HE who did it, not ME!" They made eyecontact and you could read in that moment that Jiang Ying suddenly understood Jiaxu. She finally understood how wrong she was and never appeared before them again.
I really missed this closure as how they showed it in the book, but on the other hand they also toned down Jiang Yings obsessiveness so I didnt feel like it was very needed.
In the end I loved the drama, I loved the acting, the osts and they totally did the book justice. I am gonna miss Hidden Love♡
I really disliked how Seungyeon was. I know it must have been evil-edited so I would say I dislike her as a "character" here. She started of quite sweet, straightforward and really a nice person. But as it progressed it felt like she was more determined about getting Sooro instead of actually liking him. It was all fine if Sooro played along and gave her hope, but he didn't. He was clear as day that he doesn't want to know someone else and wanted to only be with Taeeun.
She didn't respect his boundaries at all. When someone repeatedly rejects you, you aren't supposed to sway him just because you want to. Especially not if she keeps saying to him that he shouldn't reject her because otherwise she would cry. Sooro must have felt suffocated by how he cant reject her but also didnt want to give her any hope.
That whole 1 on 1 date was also miserable to watch. How she waited for Taeeun to choose first so she knew that it was Sooro. She had no clue which one was Sooro's, the photocard had of no significance for her at all. She repeatedly came between them when both of them were clear that they have chosen each other. I don't want to begin about how she talked being nude under her robe when they got a massage and how much she liked the date, when you saw how Sooro kept looking away feeling uncomfortable.
It was painful for me to watch and I legit wanted to smack some sense in her. I wouldnt have mind it at all if Sooro gave her hope and Taeeun looked for other guys etc, but they didnt. It was like looking at someone trying to steal another girl's boyfriends... awfully painful.
I do want to emphasize that I know it might be scripted and that I dont know how she really is, how much of this is true and etc. So I really want to say that I dislike her as a "character" here and not as a real person. I dont hate her or anything, just that the person she portrayed here was really not it for me.
Did you watched teasers? I think they looks good together, and he has that calm sweet vibes))https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SO8b-mkSliI
I personally think he looks a bit too young for how I imagined Jiaxu to be. A bit too sweet too tbh. Like I have nothing against him or his acting, I just imagined Jiaxu to have a bit of that edgy, sly, sexy older senior vibe.
Loved loved the novel. Cant see a better fit for Sang Zhi than Zhao Lusi, tho im a bit more ehh about Chen Zhe Yuan. Like him as an actor, but personally didnt see him as Duan Jiaxu. Hope he proves me wrong and give me the alluring but calm Jiaxu that I hope for^^
At first I got so worked up by Mr. Lin's personality. It reminded me so badly of my father from head to toe. My father was always at home supervising me and treating himself as an allknowing god. "I know my own body", "What do you have to say kid?".
My father is very similar to Mr Lin, so similar that I couldnt stand it at all. From his actions, to his stubborness, to even how he ran away. My father did this all. He never wanted anyones help, saying he knows it better. These last few years so much happened to my family, to the point where my father was forced away from home. The only differences between him and Mr Lin was that he didnt have a nice relationship with his wife. He didnt listen to all the advice given. He didnt change himself in the end or tried to trust anyone around him..including me.
He still tries to contact me ever so often and I keep denying his contact...telling him Im busy...always fighting with him over the phone...and tbh I reached the point that whatever he says must be a lie..a facade. Mr Lin's character hit me so bad and I realized that I might forever regret not talking to my dad properly. I keep telling myself I need some more time to face my dad because I know he loves me and my little sister the most. He was just never good at expressing it, his pride was in his way. But more than a year has already passed by, its time I face him.
Im letting go of Mr Lin now, but I hope to create ever lasting happy memories with my dad as well just like Zhixuan did. I could relate so much when she vented about her dad when he ran away, how she could only recall the bad memories. And in the end all that was left were the happy memories. Im still stuck in the bad memories phase, but now its my turn to seek my dad and hopefully turn our relationship for the better
Actually picked up the novel after watching the drama and imo, they made the drama so much better. Although, there…
The first experience is always the best. I reread the novel a lot and I have always loved it so much. I was a but skeptical when Z.Tao & Zuer were cast because they are totally different people from what I have read in the novel. Qian Wei was supposed to be a silly seductress with charming and tempting looks while Lu Xun was supposed to be a very tall and a delicate cold man. I cant unsee Z.Tao without his pink tracksuit anymore imo and Zuer has always played the innocent bubbly girl. But they really outdid my expectations, they really are taking Lu Xun & Qian Wei and making it their own.
Altho im really really sad to see how they use Chongwen as love triangle fodder when Chongwen has always been supportive for their relationship and has only ever been a mere friend to Qian Wei. I would say it was unneeded for them to put Chongwen also in this love scenario when it was already funny enough without his involvement. Chongwen was such a good and nice guy in the novel, and to see him get hurt in the drama pains me. Justice for Chongwen:(
Loved the novel, so excited to start bingewatching this. Altho the main leads dont really match up with the description given in the novel, hope to see them prove me wrong :)
Even after getting hurt in Boys Over Flowers and Meteor Garden, here I am back on the Ren train, the Huaze Lei train, the Yoon Jihoo train. I know every single time that he won't ever make it, but I always fall back rooting for him TT. Tho Ren really stepped up his game, he is quite the character here. Yoon Jihoo also did those psychological tricks, but he was more lowkey and hid his affection way better. He probs saw her more as someone he wants to protect rather than someone he loves. Huaze Lei was more bright, less tricky and had less facades. He seemed more like a big brother she could fall back on and I definitely didn't feel like he liked her romantically. He seems like the biggest shipper out of all the versions. But Ren, Ren really didnt came to play. He really seems like he wants to take the opportunity whenever he can, but he feels torn with Thyme and he knows that Gorya has no place for him. Everytime he tries his psychological tricks, you can see the hope in him that there is a chance... but he gets crushed without fail. Ren here really let me throw all my warnings out of the window, and here I am sobbing he failed again in ep 15 TT
Can we all appreciate how normal Kang Tae Moo is? Kang Tae Moo has been such a "refreshing" CEO for me due to how "normal" he lives. Seeing him snacking on tteokbokki, popcorn, corndogs and not needing to rent out a whole amusement park just for the sake of 1 Ferris wheel scene made me love his character so much. He doesn't elevate himself to be higher than other people and doesn't distinguish between lower and higher class, he just enjoys life like a regular person with a bit more money. He is such a free spirited CEO in comparison to all those face paralyzed cold CEO's in the usual CEO trope that take 20 years to admit they like someone and just throw money at FL to impress them, not having ever touched a germ in their life before and etc.
I actually disagree with the comment section. Hari can't see what we see as viewers, so Hari can't see how much effort and feelings Taemoo puts in all his actions behind the scenes. We can't expect Hari to just lovingly accept him if you consider how she has been treated by him in the beginning. She got dragged here and there, pestered 24/7 having to uphold a contract, getting stressed by the penalty fee and having to act out all "lovingly" while they were not romantic partners at all. How would you expect her to just take his confession words to be true if the past has already proven that Taemoo was in a state to marry her and her only so that his grandpa could stop annoying him. Coupled with the fact that she has been having a 7 year crush where this Minwoo dude kept shoving all his girlfriends in Hari's face, this girl has been hurt for 7 years thinking that nobody might like her romantically. I can totally see how Hari might not believe Taemoo's confession because Hari truly doesn't believe someone can like her. Also you could see how everyone looked so lowly upon Hari when Taemoo pretended to be her boyfriend, saying she is out of "his league". Hari has been looked upon, hurt and her self esteem totally bruised romantically wise. It would have been weirder for me if Hari just says yes and they started dating immediately. I wouldn't say Hari became weaker, just more conscious and a lot more careful as she hasn't experienced a real romantic relationship.
Comparing webtoon Hari with drama Hari is also kinda ehh. The drama has altered all the characters a bit, the plot a bit so we can't just compare them when their situations wasn't exactly the same. See it more as a parallel Hari that experiences another route that still starts with same start point and ends at same ending point, but takes different actions and routes inbetween.
