Korean, Chinese and Thai drama vastly differ in everything. Every country has its own vibe in creating dramas…
Im not stating the facts or making you feel bad with, I just use counterarguments to your arguments. Of course you are entitled to your own opinion, but in the daze of loving Meteor Garden too much you already branded this drama as : "now they're just desperate for money so they're making it again" which makes me incredibly sad as the only thing they have released atm is a trailer and the actors photos. Afterwards you were trying to already make comparisons to the actors by stating how they might be inferior to the Meteor Garden ones while like again i said, we havent seen anything from them besides maybe some prior roles. Of course you can have your opinion, really. But the way you came over was like they were doing this only for the fame while perfection already exists. This really struck me.
While you said that I shouldnt make you feel bad with my arguments, which I honestly dont see where I should have made you feel bad because I was just trying to give you the feeling you should give them a chance before judging, you in your way tried to make me feel bad in not giving you a chance to have your opinion. Which I do give you. I just said that you shouldnt compare, judge and whatever before it began airing.
Again I love Meteor Garden, I really do and probably as much as you. But that doesnt mean I should think nothing can beat it ever, that way I wont be open to any future adaptions.
I absolutely loved Meteor Garden and Boys Over Flowers, although I haven't seen the others, and I am a little…
Korean, Chinese and Thai drama vastly differ in everything. Every country has its own vibe in creating dramas so Thailand def wont really follow how it has been made in China or Korea. Meteor Garden was more lighthearted compared to Boys Over Flowers while Boys Over Flowers really followed that Korean style of dramas where it really hit when it is needed. Thai drama has always been more on the intense darker side so really, dont expect that F4 Thailand would be an exact copy of one of these. They have their own style which may or may not succeed, but we can at least give them a try right?
Besides everyone has to start somewhere right? You mentioning the cast is quite new being problematic could be applied to the previous 2 adaptions. Actually Meteor Garden has been known to always introduce relatively NEW actors for their roles. Wang Hedi & Caesar Wu were completely new fresh actors. Guan Hong only had 1 role before it and Leon Long also only had 2 support roles before it. Kim Joon had his first acting role in BOF, Kim Hyun Joong had his first main role after several guest appearances/ 1 support role, Kim Bum had 3 support roles and Lee Min Ho being the only exception did have some main appearances in his dramas. Even the very original drama had NEW actors: Ken Chu & Jerry Yan had only 1 support role prior and Vic Zhou & Vannes Wu had their very first role in Meteor Garden. In the end what happened? The shows got quite succesful right despite having relatively new actors? They have been always following the formula in introducing new actors which they think represent the characters they have set for them the most. And every character differs a bit in every adaption, the main storyplot and main personality are set but the representations and details arent. And mainly this makes an adaption still feel the same but also different.
Before we knew Caesar Wu we wouldnt have guessed the role will fit him this good. Cant we also do the same to these actors? Who knows if Ximen Thai will now own soda, idk maybe he could and maybe he would fit his character perfectly. Like I said, every country has its own way of making dramas. And an adaption doesnt mean it will follow it to the t, this means that Ximen China wont be the same as Ximen Thai because all the details made Caesar Wu a Ximen that perfectly fit in Meteor Garden.
I loved both dramas too, esp because BOF has been my very first Kdrama I watched in 2010. I held very special memories of both of them as Meteor Garden was released when I was their age too. I saw both versions practically from the very beginning and they have always been special to me. But that doesnt mean I will expect the same for the Thai version. Im excited to see what they will bring and maybe it will be as great or even better. But dont already judge it before you have seen it because every actor starts somewhere. And this might be very well their starting point.
I know everyone has their own opinions, but I have to admit that I was just astounded and a little heartbroken…
You like the drama so much that you really hope everyone else will like it as much. Its just natural to feel that way^^ Im personally at 45 rn, will finish today but I dont think I will give this higher than an 7.5 maybe 8 if it gets better. Compared to other dramas (Wuxia, Xianxa) I preferred this a little bit less. I dont feel like I got that absorbed with the story compared to other people so really its all about how a person perceives it and not entirely about the drama self^^
Cried my eyes out for the first half of the story, second half of the story I really pulled my hair out because of these parents. I really really really hated all the parents besides ofcourse the dads, so really a good job to everyone representing it as they did a terrific job. Its not easy to make a watcher hate them to this core so I am astonished by their acting, really great job.
This serie really reminds me of what a friend once said to me: "Just because we are related through blood, we arent a family. A real family is a one you choose" I really came to realize that even if you have blood ties and even if they are your biological parents, at the end the ones you consider as family would be your family. I felt sad, warm and above all I realized how good my parents treat me. Every parents want the best for their kids, some may not express it as well just like the parents in this serie but at the end they wish for our happiness more than their own.
I loved the drama, easily one of the best this year. I will recommend it to more people to watch as this is a total gem.
I have no clue why this is higher ranked than the original itself. The plot was almost an exact copy and how much I prefer Thai dramas in general, I really dont see why this would rank higher in any sense.
The original had great soundtracks, better scenery and overal I liked the characters better. Especially Tae kwang who is absolutely unforgettable for me till now.
I am not saying its a bad serie, not at all its great, but I feel like for something that has been reproduced I expected it to be a tad better than the original. I might be biased because I watched the original from the very first airing episode until the end, rewatched it way too much and as teenager it really was something that left a message for me. Now Im of course older and the message wouldnt have an as big impact, but smh I feel like its lacking and I cant pinpoint what. But really, its a great serie! Just me overestimating it a bit I think.
I completed watching it up to 3 episodes , till now I couldn't find such intrest , can I continue watching it
Personally I think that the charm in this serie is that the more you watch, the more you get charmed. I have watched tons of series where my interest sparked at the very last part or only at the beginning, but this drama has been one of the few in the last years that really really charmed me the more I watch. You can try a few other eps and drop it if you dont like it, tastes differ:D I mean I dont like Goblin while I think 90% of watchers love that serie, its just not our taste and nothing can change it^^
Loved loved loved loved the drama. Never have been a big fan of Wuxia dramas but this one really topped it for me. Most Wuxia follow a kinda sad storyline or a heroic one and not a lot succeed in my opinion. Especially after Eternal Love ceased a lot of Wuxia dramas to really interest me. But I loved loved loved loved this one. The main leads are the cutest couple ever and even while QianQian is kinda stupid and is always pushing him away, luckily Han Suo loves her so mightly intense that he would do everything to keep her. The bicker between them, the cute misunderstandings, everything was great. I especially like dramas where the romance is faster paced instead of that they end up together like 7/10 episode of the story and I just loved how the characters have been written. Comedy was outstanding here, especially with Lin Qi.
Overal I loved the story because it was fluff and had wuxia at the same time. It had a storyplot going and the characters arent the Im stupid I lay back kind. Please try the serie if you ever read the post because believe me, it was an amazing ride. Finished it in one day. And come back here to say that you also love both main leads so much.
Is it worth to watch? Like put your head on my shoulder, my mr mermaid and love 020? How bou go go squid? Worth…
They are all worth the watch:). If I was you I would start with Love 020 first, if you liked that one then you will enjoy every drama you mentioned in your comment!
One of the best dramas I have ever watched. Right up in my ally. It was really a drama which I have been looking for after put your head on my shoulders has ended. It has the nice comfy vibe to watch like put your head on my shoulders, love 020 and my mr.mermaid (also all cdramas). Not too much chaos, stayed true to the more realistic part of ourselves (like friends and dreams) and the ones which makes us think a lot about our own happiness and goals. Totally totally loved it. I dont want a second season as it has been wrapped up really perfectly. Any sequel will ruin it. I really adored the drama and I really love the growth in each character. I love all the inspirational quotes and I really really love that every episode has been a great joy to me. I will miss it a lot and I will surely rewatch it a lot:). An easy 10/10 for me.
Also psst it was so funny to see all the Ashes of Love referencesXD
For me, this is no argue the best drama of 2019 for now. I really liked the whole concept, the acting was good (chemistry between Jingoo and IU a bit missing but oh well) and I liked the pace of the drama. The whole drama felt unique for me. It may not have the biggest plottwists but it had its own quirks. For someone who couldn't even live through the first 5 episodes of Goblin, I enjoyed this immensely. And maybe because IU's acting was astonishing here, she owned Jang Man Wol, she WAS Jang Man Wol. Her sorrow, her laughter and her indifference, it was if the character was real and the story behind her was real.
So I skipped a few scenes but after finishing it I seem to have skipped the reason for Mucheng's brother Muqiu disappearance? What happened with Muqiu, what did I miss? And does anyone knoe if Mucheng is going to join Xing Xin team later on?
Was that conversation between Pinky Ma Go and Chan Sung a definite hint that the last scene with them sitting next to each other was reality instead of a dream by KCS? Because I don't know how to otherwise interpret "are we still bound to each other".
While you said that I shouldnt make you feel bad with my arguments, which I honestly dont see where I should have made you feel bad because I was just trying to give you the feeling you should give them a chance before judging, you in your way tried to make me feel bad in not giving you a chance to have your opinion.
