More or less all timeless classics, movies or tvseries, have satisfying and iconic endings. A proper closure to the plot and the characters. I am not sure if I am fan of this trend of kdramas going for open/non clear/not satisfying endings, 2521 is another example.
Like someone else wrote, I could have written a better ending of this drama in 5 minutes that would have changed 80% of the comments in here to positive. I just don't get it.. why.. why...
Im not sure how fast my comment will disappear as everyone is writing right now, lol. But imo this is not the type of kdrama you can recommend to people who aren't into kdramas, they will probably think its boring AF and drop it right away. That doesnt matter at all though. Imo the payoff off the mini stories came a bit too late, especially concerning mr Gu. Each episode had filler scenes to be honest. The open ending also just felt a bit lazy, sorry, dont hate me. So its not that 10 out of 10 masterpiece like I wanted to rate it, but it was a really good watch. Peace to you all.
I hate that its becoming a "trend" that writers write (weak ass) open endings intentionally recently - to get people speculating/talking about them. Damn this one really hurt.
I also found all the talking to be excessive, so indeed it felt draggy sometimes. Do they normally talk this much in thrillers? lol ๐
Too tired for a review but its like a 7.5/10 from me, maybe 8/10 if I'm being generous. Expected more. Not many exciting moments. Btw Lee Joon Gi kind of set the bar too high with FoW so I don't really know what he should do next, maybe a different genre?
Is it only me or has the writer completely dropped the ball in the second half? Even considering dropping it. The classic kdrama format - starts off good then halfway through just get worse and worse โน๏ธ
"Back in 2002, Lee Kyung Young was arrested and tried in court for prostitution of a minor. The trial public records…
Not defending him but that an 18 year old woman gets "manipulated" into having sex sounds kind of.. fishy.. 18 years old is not a minor imo either. He paid for it since it says prostitution? Well well I guess we will never now but people in here are making it sound like he raped a 7 year old girl or something..
Am I the only one who loved the way they left the "mystery" for the viewers in the last episode? For example the fireworks in the footage from the surveillance camera etc. Genius writing.
Great article as usual! As for dropping dramas, I try to watch at least one episode and if nothing holds my attention…
Oh no, you missed the most epic villain reveal of all time in Vincenzo =P About Vincenzo I think its worth giving it another chance. Remember that the writer literally is a comedian, and one of the biggest trolls in kdramaland. There are many good laughs in that drama.
