I usually drop when they obviously start adding filler scenes - which normally is a good sign that a drama is going to be draggy from that point. Dramas getting draggy/padded out is probably reason no.1 why I drop dramas, I am allergic to filler.
The second pattern is that I try to watch something with actors that I'm not really fond of, and if I don't get hooked right away after the first episode - I drop it and never look back. Our time is limited, gotta choose carefully what to spend 10+ hours on =)
Okay my final words before moving on from this series.
1. Stunning main cast, especially LSH - he is literally art. KHS is also very beautiful, not many women can pull of that look. 2. Joong Woon's arc was pretty good written overall and he even had some personal growth, but he did come off as nosiy/frustrating at times with all the screaming and overacting (only a biiit, don't hate me). 3. Questionable portrayal of suicide and mental health which everyone already is talking about. Like someone else mentioned - what hope is there for depressed/suicidal people out there if the only way to save people apparently is by using magic? Questionable message to the viewers. 4. Not the best comedic sense. Most jokes were not funny and felt pretty cringeworthy. 5. Excellent production values and good cinemtography. There are some really cool action scenes especially using the teleportation effect 6. The korean Johnny Depp, one of the most iconic characters of 2022. 7. Only a few expisodes are really really good, sadly there are maaany filler episodes. Ep7 is probably the worst filler episode in the drama. 8. A suicidal dog. 9. In the last 2 eps I expected them to truly flesh out out the ending, especially about their past which they teased throughout the whole drama. Instead they spent more than half of the last 2 eps on an idol mini story and internet bullying... It felt like the worst timing ever to add another mini story. Not only that, that mini story itself was one of the weakest in the whole series and felt like filler, like what the f...? 10. Not a very memorable OST, I don't remember even one song. I guess that rap song was supposed to be the main song of the drama? Sounded pretty generic to me..
So its definitely a bit of a mixed bag. I am surprised by all the "10/10 best drama ever" reviews. BUT its definitely worth watching - in my opinion a fair MDL rating should be like 8.3.
Sismance ✔️ Bromance ✔️ Hot ML ✔️ Romance ✔️ Sweet kisses ✔️ Scenes so cute and sweet that…
It was probably the perfect lenght after all, 16 eps for this would feel draggy. I loved the part in the last episode when the old chairman started to like Ha Ri lol.
