I'm not comparing Chen Yu vs Wu Zhen Feng, neither the fan of Chen Xiao or Wang Yi Bo. I wrote in my opinion below that Wu Zhen Feng is very smart, cos Baidu describes his character as "once one of the most outstanding students of the police academy". Meanwhile for Chen Yu an "anti-drug police". Of course Wu has to be very smart to go as solo hero undercover in the drug world for 5 years and still survives.

What I meant with Chen Yu being 'emotional' is if concerning Wu Zhen Feng, Chen Yu is a bit 'reckless'. For example, there is a drug operation and all police are in disguise, including Chen Yu. He then sees Wu Zhen Feng on the scene and he walks into a car. Something happens (I won't spoil if you haven't watched that episode, yet), Wu is kicked out of the car. Wu and Chen Yu's eyes met, and Wu fled. Right away Chen Yu chases Wu yelling his name. He ruined the operation, lol.

Someone commented below that the translation on YouTube is better than WeTV. It means human translation. But I haven't checked YouTube because I watched it from WeTV. Since WeTV releases the English translation on the same day, no wonder they rushed the translation using machine. But YouTube release is slower, so I guess they fixed the translation as both media is from Tencent, anyway.

You mentioned about some variety shows. It seems they hired translator only for (popular) dramas. Too bad, there are many good variety shows.

WYB character Chen Yu is emotional/reckless, especially relating to WZF. Even his supervisors mentioned it, too. So, I don't think WYB was being overacting. You knew about that jade pendant in Ep 1, right? WZF's dad had a jade business in the past and made necklaces for them, each has a half of the formation. Sounds a bit romantic, imo, lol.

Ep 1 to 4: So far so good, fast paced with plenty of actions. Chen Xiao and Wang Yi Bo played their roles very well. Veteran actors did great job as supporting characters. CX is barely recognizable being transformed to Wu Zheng Feng. Wu is very smart in what he says and does. Chen Yu is emotional when it comes to WZF. I can't wait for their teamwork. Highly recommended!
