lol cos I watched it and I don't like her character either. I skipped her manipulative scenes. The second ML's mom is okay, there is a reason why she left ZQ and you will get to know the story behind her later on.

Haha it's good then. I saw in dramas if the romance is the main theme in drama with sports, then the team/team member's stories it's like a filler (like in Skate into Love and My Unicorn Girl), also if there's love triangle can hurt the sportmanship/ friendship.

The death occurred in Ep 1, you don't see the surprise in the end. The story then unravels the mystery behind the death. So it's mixed flashbacks and present time ;D.

Add Eternal Love Rain (2020) into the list, lol! As someone who watch a lot of Cdramas (modern and historical) I hate how Chinese marketers change romantic drama names with either 'love' or 'romance' word for international market. Sounds like we (international viewers) are that dumb that we'll just automatically attract to the shows because of 'love' and 'romance' word in the titles.
Eternal Love should use the original title: "Ten Miles of Peach Blossoms". Sounds poetic.
The Eternal Love should be: "I Will Wait for Your Divorce". Sounds funny.
ELOD should be: "The Pillow Book". Sounds intriguing.
I like the Korean show's English titles are they are more catchy, and if you check their native titles have the similar meaning as English titles. Japanese native titles are quirky too.

1. Story: I will hunt down the synopsis in the native language if needed.
2. Reviews/comments: If not too many I will read all of them. If there are many, I will only read the reviews that are against the mainstream, and no comments.

My own criteria below:
3. Availability of English subtitles: Having watched too many Cdramas that famously stop subbing somewhere, I will wait till the subs are completed. But lately I have ventured to raw versions, as long as it's short, predictable, and I know the story.
4. The main characters are not in my blacklist. Don't ask me who they are. The list is tucked somewhere safely, lol.
5. First impression (Episode 1 or first 2-3 episodes if C-historical). If boring, bad characterization (mean ML, mean FL), bad actor/actress, bad production, I won't continue. And only for romantic drama: the main couple has to look good together.
