1. Story: I will hunt down the synopsis in the native language if needed.
2. Reviews/comments: If not too many I will read all of them. If there are many, I will only read the reviews that are against the mainstream, and no comments.

My own criteria below:
3. Availability of English subtitles: Having watched too many Cdramas that famously stop subbing somewhere, I will wait till the subs are completed. But lately I have ventured to raw versions, as long as it's short, predictable, and I know the story.
4. The main characters are not in my blacklist. Don't ask me who they are. The list is tucked somewhere safely, lol.
5. First impression (Episode 1 or first 2-3 episodes if C-historical). If boring, bad characterization (mean ML, mean FL), bad actor/actress, bad production, I won't continue. And only for romantic drama: the main couple has to look good together.

For reasons to watch you can do an Advanced Search with a keyword 'reasons' (don't put reason, the keyword is case sensitive you may get different type of 'reason' than intended articles. The results will be many and they will give you ideas on the criteria ;D

Hi Moonchild, you mean overrated drama that you rated low? You can always write an article that's the other way around than Defense series article above. It's called Unpopular Opinion. There are two I found. I thought I saw more articles than that but not under 'unpopular' keyword so I couldn't find more. Here they are:

yeah, also in kdrama Oh My Venus, same actress but she had props to make her looked chubby before she lost weight.

I will surely miss articles that are 100% pure entertaining like yours! Generally MDL articles are quite serious nowadays (not pointing to other, mine included ;D)

Yeah, honestly I was undecided which of Shazz's articles to use for my article cos many of them are hilarious ;D
I can help you writing again if you don't have much time. You write and I help you with pics/layout, lol. Co-writing is much faster finishing an article that way ;D

Dalia, since I saw in the Forums Discussion that you wanted to write about this topic sometime ago, I had wondered if you did it, since the topic seems interesting. So there it is. Also, thanks to commenters about the Japanese honorific used there, since I'm curious about it, too. Keep writing articles on different culture aspects from countries presented by dramas in MDL. I think that's your interest, right? ;D

Kate, since I have flipped through thousands of previous articles, there have been only a handful of articles I found with the topic of review writing in the span of 9 years. So, thank you for writing this article encouraging MDLers to write reviews ❤️. Yes, I need them! When I want to watch a drama and I see no review, I feel lost, lol! The reviews I regard the most are from they who are brave enough to spill out their opinions that are different than the mainstream's. If the drama is rated 8 and above, I will read the reviews that rate it 7 and below, and vice versa. In conclusion, everyone please write reviews no matter what your opinion is, as long as it's presented respectfully ;D

lol I didn't know you reviewed it. Yeah I love stand-alone drama specials, good to watch for a break between 2 long dramas ;D
