Lin asked for help to be saved at first because she didn't know the killer intend to kill her, probably she thought she had a heart attack or something like that. Once the killer confessed and told that the kid switched the poison, Lin's heart for protecting the kid kicked in. Her character was protective to the children, not necessarily the innocent (the boy from abuse, the teenage boy from bullying). Besides, Tung was not necessarily innocent cos he cheated his gf. When Lin asked the killer to strangle her, she said to do it for the kid's sake.
