That going to blow up fast I think. Even if ML mom plays too.
- You re not the only one. That lie is a ticking time bomb. It is only going to make the eventual explosion so much worse.

@Choyee, it's not like she was hiding her kids from her new husband either. He knew that she had kids and probably…
@acowen Yup, there are probably a few twists & turns - since we hve 50 eps in total!! I just wanna see GR's confrontation/reunion with her bio mom. That's the biggest emotional peak of the show for me!

I thought rather the Chairman lied to protect his wife and her relationship with Seo Hyeon, which is also insane…
@fffrda Being put on the spot, I think he thot that was the best option. But it's still absurd. Seohyeon is volatile - if she finds out GR is the step mom's daughter, she will blow upšŸ’„šŸ’„šŸ’„ and accuse her of playing favoritism & secret loyalty to GR.

I don't know what the writers can pull out of their hats in order to redeem her. Her behavior has been unacceptable…
Did GR block her mother after that dreadful call?

SJ’s true motivations are being kept deliberately ambiguous. But he has come this far - to ā€œdropā€ HR - if…
One thing about SJ - he resents when people disappoint him. So he might make HR "pay" for all the trouble she caused ES.šŸ˜‚.
We aren't sure when SJ set his plan in motion but I m pretty certain if ES had remained in the picture since day 1 - it would not include HR.
Well, that's the past - now as you say, they are joint at the hip for now.

Exactly!!! That's the usual trope. She might hve had an illness that prevented her from interacting with her kids ... the 2nd hubby took care & later married her....the rest is history.

Seok Jin suggested a five-year plan to marry Hae RašŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚. That wedding is not happening, unless he makes Cheongma…
SJ’s true motivations are being kept deliberately ambiguous. But he has come this far - to ā€œdropā€ HR - if he wants to fulfil his agenda - greed or revenge.
At the same time, he can’t cut off any lingering feelings for ES yet.
We re glad that ES found out that it was set-up.

Slimy hubby - the 1st one. Might hve some agreement to cut ties etc. Not sure. Can't believe I m now paving some redemption path for Yun Hui šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚. Yesterday when I wrote the comment - I just found her behavior so irksome.
I dun think the problem is with the 2nd husband - not for now until she reveals that GR is the ex of MJ. Then maybe, big conflict of interest.

They will probably find some complex redemption path for her...and catch us by surprise. šŸ™„

Maybe it's bc she has started a new life - remarrying into a wealthy family etc..... also I suspect the stepfamily dynamics can turn uncomfortable esp with someone as headstrong & possessive as Seo Hyeon.

Ps. I have no doubts that before coming to her senses, Seo Hyeon will act a little too aggressive to keep her…

@Kathryn_51 Yup - with many eps to follow, there will be more "flashbacks" to what actually happened. Might be she had some "agreement" with that slimy hubby of hers.

Yes, she was "kicked out" - by the father. I think she did ask GY to follow her but she refused. If she doesn't want to meet them personally but just to stay in touch for occasions like birthdays - even quietly frm a distance - wld certainly give the children some sense that she still cares. Idk.

I hve a problem with how GR’s mother is written. I understand she’s deeply hurt and embittered - but the blame is on your ex husband - not your children. I m sure she encountered a lot of hardships after leaving home etc. Later she remarried and moved on - fine. But actively abandoning her own children and almost severing ties crosses the line into pure neglect. Forcing GR to essentially sacrifice her own youth and raise her siblings as the head of the family while she, the biological mother washes her hands of them. GR called her, saying she was having a hard time and all she had to say was…....??????????? I don't really know how any relationship could be fixed after something like that. Any late-stage attempt at reconciliation feels unearned.
I also hve a problem with her step daughter, Seo Hyeon. Is she on a ā€œMujin Steriodā€?
She said she needed to register their marriage.😳

Ahhahah some "fine" example Hyun Jae is setting. And he's a lawyer. Though neither male leads are a match…
Yes,, both MLs aren't a match for ES - but if I had to pick one, it wld be SJ too - for the same reason: their chemistry. I m not sure I like the attorney yet...shifty eyes!🤨

I lost hope that he has any agenda except to take over the Company ... via marrying HR. As for his character,…
I get ur point POV. But keeping the ML locked in a flat, one-dimensional role like an "opportunist" or a "gold digger" or a ā€œcadā€ šŸ˜‚ for a long run (esp across 100+ eps) wld drain the story of any development and quickly bore the audience. With MR, having her established early as the clear antagonist gives the plot a firm anchor—you know where the conflict is coming from. But for SJ, I think a gradual shift frm gray to outright dark wld be better.
Side note: I haven’t watched GLiar or completed Pearl in Red. I hear ppl in this comment platform saying that SJ’s character is about the same as the ML he played in GLiar. Does that mean there’s gonna be a change in his character for this drama? A ML turning villainous usually justifies the FL ending up with the 2nd ML, a loyal character like the attorney?? šŸ™„

šŸ’ÆA revenge plot is the only logical explanation for the changes in his character. It is very likely connected…
I agree. His initial shock and conflicted reactions upon seeing ES again show that her sudden reappearance throws a wrench into a plan he likely set in motion long ago, when he believed she was completely out of the picture.
At Cheongma, he acts like someone who either feels a deep sense of duty or is trying to safeguard assets / uncover evidence. If he is playing a longer game - such as secretly investigating the circumstances surrounding his family, MR’s influence, or corporate corruption - marrying into the inner circle gives him the perfect vantage point. Yup, can't wait to see his POV. And if it's what we think, I hope SJ & ES will eventually come clean so they don’t end up constantly working at cross- purposes.

I wld like to believe that SJ has a deeper, hidden agenda. His focus on keeping things stable in Cheongma suggests he isn't just looking for an easy payout. Committing to marry someone as volatile as HR is a massive sacrifice - unless he has a personal motive or suspects foul play.
But I don’t like him holding ES to an idealized, frozen-in-time image 10 yrs ago. As long as he can confirm that she didn't abandon him deliberately, his ego stays intact and he feels validated. The moment she displays agency or tactics that don't align with his nostalgic memory of her, he judges her for changing—conveniently ignoring that her life was destroyed while he was off advancing his own agenda.
