SH's "affectionate" behavior toward her stepmom was self-serving. Using her step mom to punish her dad validates her victim mindset. She told Yun Hui not to forgive Hun Tae - which was ridiculous. It's all abt her obsession with MJ. Anyone obstructing the beeline to MJ is her ENEMY. Last ep, it was Hun Tae - next ep, it's Yun Hui (congratulations!). Following eps, GR etc. Mental illness or not, she's definitely narcissistic and cruel.

A normal kid wld run back home to ask his mother about the blood test; oh, but not Gyeol - he decides what he wants to do. He's so entitled. I understand that he's hurt and confused, probably fearful abt his future. But he's also taking GR's love for granted bc he knows it has always been unconditional. That's what he is doing to MJ now. Oh, he just needs some time to camp out at MJ'S place & cool off to figure things out -what, as an 8 year old?? What a brat indeed. GR's tendency to enable & martyr herself doesn't help matters. She lets him dictate the terms of their r/ship which only fuels his attitude.

Reconnecting with SJ after her exoneration definitely emboldens her. I think she wants to "snag" SJ - a form of payback against HR who made her life miserable. Whether out of lingering affection for SJ, or revenge against HR, or a mix of both - it's gonna be complex.

Gran is proving to be quite a sleuth. She's making moves that actual protagonists in makjang dramas usually take forever to figure out.

With 100 eps on board, MR pretending to be ES's mother is a diversion to throw off the investigation & buy her more time. It may diffuse any suspicion ES has on her. If she goes with the plan, her real identity will not be a secret too long bc she mentioned that she knew Hee Jung. And frm the notebook, the dad & Granma know the name.

And she cld hve crossed paths as an adult MiRan with Jeong Sun or Yeong Hun - and experienced another set back/rejection that wld solidify her obsession for revenge.

I think losing out on an adoption at the last minute was just the tip of the iceberg in her revenge arc. Miran cld hve experienced intense financial & social struggles after leaving the orphanage. It'll be interesting to see if upcoming episodes reveal her initial resentment for Jeong Seon turned her from envy into a full blown villain.

Agree. Her mind is in a psychological trap. She's completely overwhelmed by trauma & denial. When the teacher explained the blood types - it was difficult for her to process reality - she couldn't even register what was said until later. Her mind blocked it out as a coping mechanism until she was forced to face it.

I think the notebook stated the name of the mother (most likely MR's real name) & the birth date of the baby (which is the same as ES's).
So SJ did pay a visit home to find out about ES when he couldn't get in touch with her. Too bad he met the grandma instead.... 🤨 I m glad SJ got that sorted. Good for him.😊

That explains why she rather move on with her new family....but that does not justify cutting ties with her bio children.

It was a mix of both. I think he's slowly coming around to being "curiously concerned" for her - due to Han Gyeol. But I like how he chided Yun Hui (ep 14).

@acowen Yup, there are probably a few twists & turns - since we hve 50 eps in total!! I just wanna see GR's confrontation/reunion with her bio mom. That's the biggest emotional peak of the show for me!
