TBH- after so many heartbreaking scenes, deaths, and FCY running around helplessly looking for Ning and news of…
I think it is hard to hate Qi Min if one knows his backstory. Not condoning what he has been doing lately, but when very bad๐ฉ happens to a 4 or 5 year old child and gets no resolution / therapy and just keeps compounding together with physical pain, the result is a psycho. ๐
The last drama I watched DengKai in, he was also a villain, but a cute funny villain with bad styling. ๐คช This Qi Min role and styling for him is just ๐ค๐ป๐คค๐ฅ๐. Hope to see more of him, maybe as a ML next time.
Does Qi Min have an illness/disease? I know things are not good in a historical drama when a character keeps coughing…
When Qi Min was about 4 or 5 years old, the war had gone badly and his father the Crown Prince was dead. His mother knew their enemies would come for them next, so she burned half his face and body to disguise and "save" him by getting him out of the palace. She proceeded to burn down the Eastern palace and unalive herself in the flames as crying young Qi Min is carried away by his shadow guards. And if that is not enough trauma for a small child, he had to undergo multiple skin grafts for his 3rd Degree Burns and often suffer from phantom burn pains. So I guess his persistent cough and grey hair are the result of trauma and poor health. ๐
Qimin seems like he might drop dead from coughing before anyone kills him. Do any novel readers know how he dies…
In the novel, when Qimin was with YQQ, he had casually told her that he did not mind dying by her hand. Should that day come, he wished to be served poison soup by her.
Qimin was badly injured in the final fight. Xie Zheng's side kept him alive for a while because some answers were needed from him. He hung on despite his severe injuries, refusing to answer to anyone else and requested YQQ. In his mind, he just wanted that poison soup from YQQ. She did cook the poison soup for him and served it to him.
If you mean ZLHโs controversy, I donโt think it will have effect in China. Most people there probably think…
True! And if the drama is keeping to the novel, the 2nd CP will be getting a BE. ๐
QM is a tragic villain who is mentally troubled as a result of the traumas of his youth. He needs long term therapy and medication. Without therapy and medication, there is no way he can function normally with YQQ and his son.๐
I am also a bit confused , but from what I gather and if I understand correctly:Chanceller Wei + Grand Tutor Li…
Yes, based on the novel, Qimin got injured in the fight from arrow wound to the chest and was kept in the prison cell.
Before this, some time back, he told QQ that he wished to die by her hand, she can give him poison soup. So in the prison, he kinda held on despite the pain and waited for her poison soup. His psycho mind wanted to die like that.
QQ said some rather harsh words to him when she came to give him the poison soup, He cannot understand why she hates him and he teared up. Sighs. But I guess QQ also does not understand his mental issues and was surprised he teared up. She thought nothing of it and left him there to die after drinking the soup. Sighs....I will be needing lots of tissues for this tragic villain. ๐ฅน๐ข๐ฉ

I feel very sorry for Qimin.
In modern terms, he is suffering from PTSD. His mum burnt him badly when he was a child and he did not understand why. We know that it was his mother's desperate attempt to protect him and ensure he had a way to get to the throne which was rightfully his if not for the rebellion. And then she died in the fire in front of him. That has gotta mess with a young child's mind. Then followed by years of pain from the burns and burn treatment. People giving him disgusted looks and no love from his guardian. Quite poor thing actually.
I always tell my friends if I got sent back to ancient times, I wanna steer clear of the palace. It is a super toxic office space. ๐ ๐ฌ
can someone enlighten about the characters of royal family? it's hell confusing.. who is wei, li, he? who are…
I am also a bit confused , but from what I gather and if I understand correctly:
Chanceller Wei + Grand Tutor Li - Helped to quell the initial rebellion, but Wei went rouge and put a puppet emperor on the throne.
Wei Xuan is Chanceller Wei's legitimate son. Li is the eldest grandson of Grand Tutor Li.
General He is Chanceller Wei's subordinate and thus on surface has to show that he obeys Wei. But he is not really agreeing with Chanceller Wei.
The Sui "brothers" are from a rival kingdom. Qimin is the elder prince and the demented one we saw is the younger prince and the crown prince of their kingdom. Qimin though the elder prince is not the crown prince because he is adopted. The Sui queen is his aunt, so the 2 princes are actually cousins. Qimin's dad was the crown prince of Yin who died in the rebellion. His mum is the Sui queen's sister. Qimin is actually the rightful emperor to the Yin throne if things had not gone wrong during the rebellion.
And yes, all the villains are HOT! So even if we are confused, just watch on for the hotness. LOL
Excited to see our Weiwei in a new project. But....Sighs...Edward Guo. ๐ค๐ I only ask that he please take…
This director does not have a very good reputation. ๐ I still watch his dramas for his beautiful cinematography. BUT, his endings are either open ended or BE / SEs where the CP cannot be together. There were melons that he did not treat some of his MLs well and on top of that will give more screen time to his actors from his own agency.
I know our Weiwei will look super good in his drama, but I worry for him. So my only wish is that GJM take care of our Weiwei and give him back to us well and healthy. โค๏ธ๐๐
Oh dear, he literally helped to bro-zone himself.
The results are going to be permanent. ๐
Erm...Chang Yu, that is not a sack of potatoes you are swinging up the mountain. ๐ ๐คฃ๐๐
Wow...she is strong! ๐๐ป๐ช๐ป
He currently only has 622 likes. ๐

He was happy to be released from his living hell.

If they follow the novel, I am gonna be needing tissues for his future scenes.

I think the Qimin and YuQianQian CP is going to be tragic unless they deviate from the novel. Sighs...I need tissues for that too
If Eldest princess and the neat freak GongSun Yin get together, at least one of the 2nd CPs get their happy ever after.
We need a hug! HUGS! ๐ซ
*passes a box of 4 ply extra soft tissues to AuntyCandy*
I think we might be needing more of these soon! ๐
Looking at the birthday presents and crying. Sighs...I cried along with our gal. ๐ฅน๐ข
ANGST has started for this drama. ๐คง
