On Pride and Prejudice Nov 28, 2014
I guess I need to have faith and keep watching since a lot of people seem to be at the latest episode and feel the show is good. I just finished episode 5 and the female lead as a character just really doesn't make sense to me. Her attitude, strong assumptions, and insubordination just baffle me. I think all the other characters are good, also having Choi Jin Hyuk and Lee Tae Hwan on screen together is glorious, so I haven't given up yet. But so far, the two Choi brothers are the ones mainly keep this show afloat so far. Either Baek Jin Hee is not conveying her character well, or the character itself was just developed poorly.Hope it's the former of the two.

Does anyone know where I can watch the newest episodes?
Ah, I take it back. It's subbed in Chinese. :-/

Now, I offered to do this the last time this came up. Someone messaged with me a bit and then I never heard from them again. I'd no longer be able to write articles, but I definitely could do editing. Just wouldn't want to get prepared to make time for it again and there be no follow-through.
Skye-N-Rain Oct 22, 2014
Choi Jin Hyuk looks like he's 22 here! The older that man gets, the younger he looks. He looked like he was in his mid 30's in "Pasta." Then early 30's in "Gu Family Book." From "I Need Romance 1" on, he just keeps looking younger. (side note: this just made me realize I've seen most of his dramas. Fan girl epiphany.)

I wish there were at least one review for this drama which doesn't give away the ending, one way or another. Sorry…
The whole purpose of the review is for people who haven't watched it ye. And they say so many times on the sidebar to not give spoilers. I will never understand people's insatiable appetite for telling everything. Especially, when you know it's for people who haven't seen it.

>ugly waito in a glorious Nipponese drama I don't want to watch this.
I guess that's what you do to try to get away with saying racially offensive things. Your "joke" is neither funny, nor appropriate. You could be white yourself and it's still not cool.

How about you keep racist comments off of this great website.

"Remake" is definitely the operative term because it will need to be totally redone. Think Hayazaki…
When I rewatched "Spirited Away" I understood so many things I didn't even know I didn't get with the dubs. I didn't think "Return of the Cat" would better in Japanese, but it was. I highly recommend give the subs a try. :-)
Skye-N-Rain Sep 25, 2014
"Remake" is definitely the operative term because it will need to be totally redone. Think Hayazaki films with English dubs. So much of the story is lost in translation in order to accommodate American culture. I learned this when I rewatched them with subtitles. "Love From Another Star" is a story that has so much to do with the culture in S. Korea. Her Mother's position in her career even though she's an adult. The pressure for her to get married within a short time of dating a guy. Him not eating with others because it is very commonplace to eat as group from the same dishes there for most meals. Her pressure for them to live together so soon. The way she's bullied on the set because of the hierarchy of actors there. Don't even get me started on the historical part. I could go on and on. None of that translates to American culture. I wasn't even a big fan of the show, so I'm quite unbiased. But so many people, many of my friends included, are too lazy to deal with subtitles. So, a white-washed version is what people will get. My vote is for hot mess.

Honestly, if he did it, he deserves punishment. But, objectively, no one knows the situation, I am a firm believer(like…
So, you're basically saying that if she hit him first, he is well within in his rights to beat her to the point of having to recover over a two week period?? Cause... that's what it looks like you are saying. And you don't necessarily have the right to "hit back", you have the right to defend yourself as needed. I know martial arts, and people who I know I could have easily beat up have attempted to accost me. Just because I can beat them up, doesn't mean I should. And I didn't because all I needed to was to get them to stop. Anything further is out of anger and/or retaliation. Regardless of whether they initiated the attack or not. That is called excessive force. I can agree that women shouldn't get a free pass on hitting men, but in no way does it justify her being beaten up and having bones broken. We can already see, that he was much stronger than she was. Her hitting him is not the same as him hitting her. If the situation was her initiating the physical altercation, which I doubt, he could have subdued her. But no, he beat her because he can.

Even though the guys playing Kuranosuke and Shu aren't as attractive as I expected, I'm still looking forward to this. They really nailed the apartment building for live action.

I've never smiled and giddy-clapped so much while watching a drama before. Wait... I've actually NEVER done that while watching a drama before. This was great. I'll save all my feels for my review.

Well, she told her plenty of times not to trust anyone. Not even her, lol. Ah Mo Ne seriously had no real fighting power anyhow. I found the end of ep. 18 amusing. and Cha Jae Wan wildly taking her in the car with no follow-up. That was hilarious.

Something tells me that it's manager Baek who killed Mo Ne's father...I'm just guessing as I don't think Lee jun…
@maida11 Are you familiar with the "spoiler" option? You can still edit your comment to check it. I hope Martin_DR is caught up on the episodes cause that's pretty messed up if they aren't.

are you fucking kidding i thought it was 20 eps, ahhhhh i shouldn't have started watching it and I can't put it…
I thought 32 episodes was a lot, too. But with 2 episodes a week, it comes out to a total of 16 weeks. That's not too bad. At least we're past the halfway point.
