After 5 episodes, it can be said that unfortunately, this isn’t on the level of Sinful Marriage, but rather Embrace in the Dark Night. The plot's all about the hot couple and their steamy interactions. There’s chemistry, but it’s missing a gripping story.
English title: Queen of Darkness. Premiere on October 22. Description from the platform YOUKU: "When the cunning heiress FangJin meets the sly inspector YanZixian, she loses her memory and identity, and he seizes the chance to draw her into his game. With his guidance and indulgence, her heart begins to stir. But when the truth is revealed and schemes come to light, what will be their fate? Two master players find themselves irresistibly drawn to each other in a dangerous game."
Ugh I finished this but I'm not over it. This is one of the very few dramas I wish I could forget completely so…
For me, the two mini-dramas closest in vibe to Fated Hearts are Sinful Marriage and The Maid. Strong characters, great chemistry and acting, wonderful costumes and visual design.
How was the ending? The leads are together and happy along with her daughter?
Yes, it’s a happy ending. They are together and Fl is pregnant. They also raise the child of Fl’s ex-husband (though he actually wasn’t her husband) and his wife, who both die. So in the end, they have three children.
At the end of the series, there will be a plot twist revealing that the ML actually loved only the FL from the…
The idea that "It is our imagination that is responsible for love, not the other person" resonates with me. And this is exactly what happened to the protagonists of this drama.

Basically, there are two big plot twists. First, ML’s beloved didn’t actually die. Second, before her supposed “death,” she found a diary belonging to FL and used it to create her whole backstory and personality, because she was really a spy. So in the end, ML never truly loved her, but rather fell in love with FL’s story and character that she had borrowed.
The CP is awesome! They need to be in a full length drama. Love them!
I saw it. It’s pretty good, though those cheap Mango subtitles kind of ruin it a bit. ML’s super handsome and acts really well. Totally agree that Fang Jin’s acting has leveled up a lot!
The reviews make me want to watch it, but if ML is going to have a de4d-lover who confuses him even at the end…
At the end of the series, there will be a plot twist revealing that the ML actually loved only the FL from the very beginning, so you can watch it without worry.
It’s hard to give a straight answer to that question. He’s the first to show his feelings for her. By episode 17, it’s clear he’s deeply in love, and in episode 19, he finally confesses. The female lead, however, is more focused on revenge and her son, so she remains cautious and distrustful until around episode 23. Even so, I think this is a fantastic romance with some of the best on-screen chemistry I’ve ever seen. The pacing feels just right, and by the end, you can truly believe in their love and devotion to each other.
