Title Blood River
šŸŽ‰Good news! The director of Blood River said he is currently discussing Blood River Season 2 with Platform Youku. Novel author Zhou Mu Nan’s Wuxia Universe will continue to develop along two parallel timelines — The Blood of Youth and Blood River — as two separate series (so the story of BR won't connect to TBOY). Blood River is a dark wuxia vibe series. Blood River S2 is planned to focus on the story of the Dark River organization in the next one to two years.

Person Zhang Ling He
I miss seeing him in dramas 😿hopefully Zhu Yu and Overdo release soon ā¤ļøAlso thought I saw wedding and…
I saw fans say it's a happy ending coz of the reuters. Actors can't spoil anything due to industry rules. Let's see how it goes! Zhu Yu would probably release in Jan.ā˜ŗļø

Well Blood River is more good to me than Dashing Youth! You all keep saying Dashng youth was the first story and…
The author wrote DY and TBOY first. He mentioned that while writing The Blood of Youth, he became very fond of the ā€œvillainousā€ assassin Su Mu Yu from the Dark River organization, so later he wrote Blood River as a standalone story for him. However, he didn’t expect his characters to develop free soul that they seemed to ā€œdecide their own fates.ā€

He admitted that he regretted giving Su Mu Yu and Su Chang He a sad ending too early in The Blood of Youth, and therefore suggested readers treat Blood River as a parallel timeline. Gong Jun also mentioned in a livestream that, in his opinion, this story is an independent narrative and should not be directly connected to The Blood of Youth. SMY and SCH are the closest brothers forever.

You're not welcome on this page. Looks like a clown. You should go back to school until you understand basic manners.

Which episode has the most minutes of fighting / action scenes?
Almost each episode has great fightings. šŸ˜† But the final battle in the second last episode impressed me.

I love this show and I heard it hit 10k however someone on Twitter said the Yunhe views are low? Is that true?…
It's a hit drama in China, broke 10k heat index in Youku. The market share surpassed the other two on-airing Xianxia dramas. Yunhe data is unaccurate, manipulated by fandoms. A lot of data resources varies everyday, and influenced by Fandoms.

Yes. He dies.
I double checked the novel, it's Zhuo Qing who injured Xiao Se in TBOY, but in the drama changed to Jing Xuan. Anyway, he died finally.

Bai He Huai’s poison relapsed, and she was taken away for treatment by SCH and SMY’s master, Su Yun Xiu. However,…
I guess just the author chose randomly. Or the timing of TBOY ending is 12 years after BR.

Honest question, why is Zhang Shi An a Main Role with so little screen time? I like the actor, and hope to see…
In Chinese Entertainment, Main role doesn't mean one has much screen time, it's just related to billing.

Okk pls help me I have some questions ā‰ļø 1. Why it has to be 12 years?? Does something special happens?2.…
Bai He Huai’s poison relapsed, and she was taken away for treatment by SCH and SMY’s master, Su Yun Xiu. However, the master told Su Zhe not to tell SMY, because she needs Bai He Huai to help her practice a special martial art. As a result, SMY believed she was dead. In the novel, they reunite 12 years later. (In fact, this was because the author wrote The Blood of Youth first — Bai He Huai didn’t exist in that story. She was a new character added in Blood River, so the author created a 12-year gap to make it more logical.)

Finally, the author mentioned that while writing The Blood of Youth, he became very fond of the ā€œvillainousā€ assassin Su Mu Yu from the Dark River organization, so later he wrote Blood River as a standalone story for him. However, he didn’t expect his characters to develop free soul that they seemed to ā€œdecide their own fates.ā€ He admitted that he regretted giving Su Mu Yu and Su Chang He a sad ending too early in The Blood of Youth, and therefore suggested readers treat Blood River as a parallel timeline. Aaaaand, it's done. Not quite what I was expecting but I loved it: I was impressed by all the actors, especially…
If you feel the fights look like direct out of Dragon Ball, it's because the core inspiration behind Dragon Ball comes from Chinese classic book Journey to the West and traditional Chinese Wuxia culture.

1. Qi / Energy Techniques are extremely similar to Wuxia ā€œinner force.ā€
In Dragon Ball:
Qi
Energy blasts
Spirit Bomb

In Wuxia:
Inner force
True Qi
Qi power

Both emphasize the same idea:
A person’s strength comes from the ā€œQiā€ within the body, and through cultivation, one can break through their limits. This is very similar to the martial arts systems of Jin Yong, Gu Long.

2. Combat aesthetics: lightness skill, burst movement, aerial fighting

In Dragon Ball, battles often feature:
High-speed movement
Aerial combat
Floating and instant-movement similar to lightness skill
Afterimage techniques

These resemble Wuxia elements such as:
Qinggong (lightness skill)
Footwork techniques
Fighting while airborne

They share a similar style and philosophy.
