Title Alice Spoiler
I get why Min Hyuk doesn't want to reveal his identity to Jin Gyum (he probably feels like catching Tae Yi's killer…
Many times I was frustrated with Jin Gyeom keeping secrets when it would have been better for him to reveal the truth. Reading your comment made me think that perhaps, Jin Gyeom got that thought pattern from his father. Like father, like son ~

Title My Unfamiliar Family Spoiler
I've watched 3eps but I agree about geon joo being a waste of time. I really hate that move too and I think I'll…
Actually, if you continue to watch the drama, the exploration of Eunhee and Chanhyuk’s relationship have more screen time as compared with Eunhee and Geojoo’s. And in these seemingly friendly conversations that they have, we learn more about what happened between them in the past and how they seem to talk in codes to kind of reveal what they feel but at the same time, especially on Eunhee’s side, maintaining the friendship line.

Title My Unfamiliar Family Spoiler
I disagree. Geon Joo is just a cheater who pursued Eun hee despite having a fiancee/girlfriend who he refused…
The seemingly rushed progression of Eunhee and Geojoo’s relationship happens in real life though. I personally know of some couples who had that speedy progression in their relationship. Alcohol and loneliness can ignite a relationship, though these are unstable foundations of a relationship if nothing else is developed along the way.

Also, the progression of Eunhee and Chanhyuk’s relationship is rather natural the way I see it. Clues from earlier episodes show that they did have mutual feelings for each other when they were in uni but due to Eunhee’s low self esteem and subsequent drawing of a line between her and Chanhyuk, he was friend zoned. Eunjoo mentioning to Chanhyuk about Eunhee liking him before suggests Eunjoo being perceptive about the hidden tension between her sister and Chanhyuk. The way I see it, it was her way of playing cupid between the two as it was Chanhyuk who accompanied her sister to the island and not Geojoo. Such revelation in turn, made Chanhyuk to finally make a move (based on the last scene of episode 10). Prior to that, dialogues between the two show that they speak in codes? Like when Chanhyuk asked Eunhee why she asked him to accompany her and Chanhyuk being disappointed after hearing Eunhee’s answer and Eunhee being disappointed after Chanhyuk decided to stay later avoiding. Also, Chanhyuk telling Eunhee that the reason he is good to her siblings is because of Eunhee suggests thst he indirectly clarified that he does not see Eunjoo romantically. If I’m not mistaken I think the word he used was that he is polite towards her. Lastly, their talk while Eunhee was drunk indicates them testing the waters to see where they stand in each other’s heart and at the same time revealing that they have feelings for each other.

The friends to lover theme is not something new in the entertainment world. While the risk of losing a friend forever if things don’t work out is often the common sub-theme, in this drama we see that it is more than that. Crossing the line means Eunhee having to face her rejection issues stemming from her mother not choosing her when she ran away with Eunjoo. Also, what Eunhee knew was that Chanhyuk liked Eunjoo. That would have made it really difficult for her to fully open up her heart and gain courage to start something romantic with Chanhyuk as in her mind she does not measure up to her sister, the person she resented growing up.

I was disappointed in Eunhee at first as well. However, what I love about this drama is that the character development is superb. As with people in real life, the characters in the drama are not presented in the dichotomous good-bad way. Everyone is flawed but at the same time, they have good qualities as well. Even Geon Joo had good pieces of advice for Eunhee. As the drama progressed, I got to understand why Eunhee agreed to such a setup. Her reason is not something that sits well with me but it happens in reality. Eventually, she realized that she deserves better.
