1. Hearing aids aren't actually beneficial to deaf people / most deaf people. They work best for those who are hairing impaired, I believe. It's possible that it wouldn't work.
2. Also, in the past, her family doesn't want to call attention to her disability
3. And in the present 3/4 of the family is deaf(the other one can sign) and they run their own business whilst depending on Eun Gyeol and other aids and (for lack of a better term) equipment.
4. They can be pretty costly and we've seen that their family is only just now getting properly on their feet financially
5. They might just not WANT hearing aids. Especially the ones who were born deaf- they experience the world differently and sound isn't necessary.

Is your assessment of these people being critical of his work similar to how you perceive their criticism?
I doubt people are saying anything about picking this project, it’s about BEING picked.

I doubt people are suggesting they could do better. That’s not their job. It’s his.
And before you assume I’m salty or a hater, I’d like to share that I’m typing this under his poster in my living room. Sometimes, criticisms come from fans who simply aren’t blindly fanatical.

Most of his awards are for popularity and brand image, though….
I think the issue people are having is not that he’s a poor actor acting, it’s that he’s always the LEAD actor playing (mostly) the same character. However, he IS improving. If he can get roles where he doesn’t need to be pretty, he’ll continue to improve and be one of those actors, where we watch their dramas despite the setup because we know they’ll carry it well.
A criticism of the actor’s performance is not necessarily a criticism of the actor themself. Also, not everyone displeased with an actor’s performance is a hater. Not everyone draws a line and chooses a side.

They need to stop casting him as the cool romantic lead and give him comedic roles. He'd rule!

1. Okay, I was 98% convinced this show was gonna end with Ray going out similar to his mum. I'm now down to 20%.
2. I've always preferred for the actors to pair up with different people, rather than being a standard ship. That being said, if Mark could take a break from being every lead's best friend to be a lead paired up with Neo, that would be fantastic. Wow!
3. Except for Atom, my anxiety over this show is gone and I'm able to properly enjoy it, yay!! 3 episodes to go, so that might've been premature *knocks on wood*
4. The actors for Sand and Ray, Boston and Nick, Cheum and April complement each other so well. Mew's is doing so well.... with the newcomer. Storywise, I'm against it, but....

He DID do that chosen one martial arts drama in 2016, so logically I assumed that’s what yo meant. Ignoring all the other irrelevant stuff you said because I really wanna know what in my original or previous comments implied I thought CEW was less marketable and focusing on the “interesting and important part of the story” bit.

OMG people😂! What is happening? I reread my original question and I still don’t see where all this is coming from. I actually AM a Cha Eun Woo fan. Not in the official fan club but I’ve been following since their pre-debut mini drama. I got Hide and Seek the day it dropped and Astro was my first ever concert (I was in my twenties). Lee Hyun Woo IS a stronger actor, but maybe Cha Eun Woo looks more like the character. Or, maybe has better chemistry with the female lead…Or, Lee Hyun Woo’s role demands the stronger actor. I genuinely didn’t know, which is why I asked. There is no hate involved. There is no need to “defend” the actors. 😭 I just wanted the webtoon/ manwha readers to answer. “No” could’ve worked.

I stated that I didn’t know the source material, so I have no opinion on Cha EunWoo being the lead at the moment.
He isn’t the strongest actor, but he isn’t terrible and does quite well in comedy. My question was quite genuine. Not everything is an attack.
