As expected from a 66 episodes drama - it's going to get draggy at some point and it's already in affect on EP 19-20. You can basically skip these two episodes and won't miss a thing other then a bit of side story from the divine doctor and his lost brother. The two episodes are basically setting up for a bunch of jealous concubines in the inner palace fighting over the Emperor. It's putting the progression of the main story to a halt. This type of inner palace drama setting is being over used and over played in almost every single Chinese historical dramas - It's one of the reason why everyone around me(including myself) have zero interest for 'Ruyi's royal love in the palace'. A 90 episodes, yes 90! long episodes of jealous concubines going at it - Screaming and screeching their lungs out. Didn't feel bad at all when the drama got boycotted.

Thank God that they did it this way, because it will become another Mary Sue drama. A lot of audiences are sick and tired of Mary Sue dramas - the 'Everybody loves me syndrome'.

Drama is starting to enter the palace setting phase. With more character introductions, more backstories of each characters and more schemes, it's going to get complicated for foreign viewers, even to point that it will feel draggy.
