It really shows that it's a web drama... not many figurants so they always come back. The lack of older actors (the dowager queen is way too young for the emperor.....) and that makeup. @-@
But the story is hilarious and the two main actors are not bad at all. So all in all, I think the drama is worth of the time to watch XD

I agree with boby yang. Ding Shui = Consort Lian who married the previous emperor. And she's also Prince Ling's mom. I think there was never one independent of Ding Shui. Even though the drama diverts from the novel with the added sorcery stuffs, the main characters' identities and timeline are maintained...
I like Dilraba and Zhang Bin Bin and look forward to some intense OTP romance, but one cant help but feel bad…
I actually like the push-pull relationship between the two leads... the chemistry is just too good... I didn't feel it as much btwn JK and GSL, probably bcause JK is more reserved.... in any case, JK totally dies in the history so happy ending is so not gonna happen. I wish GSL wouldn't die though :(

Up until now there have been adaptations but the general storyline isn't too far off from the novel so we have hope! ^^
I don't know about anything else, but some nice costumes you got here.
It is not a historical drama though. It's more of a xuanhuan/fantasy drama so they took more liberty at making the costumes. Personally I find some of the costumes/headpiece too much but I agree with namopanik that the style coordinates well with the whole scenery and such.

Yeah I've seen the interview she said that they did not film the whole book too, but I agree with you that it might because they put too much emphasis on the first part of the book. From what I can see of the news, apparently there's two news about it where one says Angela baby will replace ZLY whereas another news says it's only a rumour... in any case, apparently today's episode is really good so I still have hope that ZLY finished the filming of the ending lol
