she still the water god according to novel. And in the drama, we had the scene in demon realm about water god created a new flower so its probably still Jin Mi. they just chose to stay in mortal realm.

TBH I think the scriptwriter chose to explore Runyu's story more. In the actual novel, you dont see the background story of neither character since the story was told in first person POV so Jinmi's. I was glad for Runyu's background story tho, it made the character much alive for me. I wish they explored more Xufeng's as well, instead of those subplot love stories of Suihe, Puchi, Empress and what nots..
How is the drama so far? Are the episodes you've watch so far worth watching?
Hmmm I have to say that I've only watched 3 episodes so far... Raymond lam is a bit too old for the young years of his character but I can see him being a good choice in the latter part of the drama. the main actress isn't the best choice but I could tolerate her.
As for if it's worth it... I think it is a drama worth watching but I might be biased because I have read the novel in the past so I watch it for nostalgia first and foremost. It's going to remind you of scarlet heart in some way but with a less graceful girl lead unfortunately ^^;;
The beginning of ep one makes me think that there might be something between the boss and the writer!!! *v* the love story of the past and of the present?! So exciting!
China has banned film that include time traveling to the past so I don't know how that will influence this…

It pretty much explicitly told us that they took out the time traveling part and replaced with a present time Bu You Ran telling the story of the historical Dong Ge
I love your article. I'm not by any means a beginner in chinese drama so I've watched almost all of them... I'd say though, I'm yearning for another drama similar to love 020 with no "drama", just a linear cuteness from beginning till end. I wish Gu Man has other stories that can be transformed into dramas XD
I liked Love Me if You Dare but unfortunately I find the criminal investigation part was overpowering everything in the latter part of the drama. I prefere much more When the Snail Falls in Love. Initially I dropped it but while I was unable to find a good c-drama to watch, I picked it up again and completely binge watched it. It was surprisingly good, not enough cute romance scenes until the novel (where there was inner voice of the main male lead) but cute enough, and even more, realistic!
