Maaaaybe but tbh I dont even try to understand the historical facts in dramas anymore (especially when it's during that confusion period of time....) If it were Tang or Song or Ming or Qing, I can get the gist of it. But when it's Sixteen Kingdoms or Northern and Southern, I give up and I'll just treat everything as fictional LOL

If you like strategist stories, I've heard that HuGe in Nirvana in Fire really excels in that. Personally I did not get into that drama because it was too much plotting for my poor little brain XD But everything I've heard about that drama is all compliments...

Yeahhhhhh I dunno! They would cut it down for sure! Tho the drama got the story of fengjiu and donghua too (which isn't even in the novel of Eternal love...) so it got longer

The novel itself was set in a fictional time but the adaptation made it into the Northern and Southern dynasties (more specifically the Western Wei dynastie around 535 to 557 according to Wiki). there's a lot of confusion still tho cuz it says it's during the Western Wei dynasty but it might be near the end of it as well seeing the war stuffs...

Hahah yes I did... but I watched it using the FF button a lot.... I really dont like Yang Mi so I only watched it because of the novel..... and that I know it's a really good story. I can't wait to see the movie version tho!!! The prettiness of both of the leads omgggg *v*

Yeah... not on par with Korean subs unfortunately :( I've seen Korean drama subs where they even translated the Korean old sayings >_<

Can I just say how much I love this drama?! I haven't felt like that watching a Chinese drama for quite some time! Last time I felt like this was when I was watching love o2o.... such good acting o3o

Also the Chinese title in literal translation means "agent" and "princess" but the princess part refers to a married into royal family princess...

Well there will be tragedy and stuffs but you could say it's a happy ending. That is, If you ship the right couple :P

a lot of those male characters are sons of influential families (except Yuan Song who is the brother of the princess) as for Yan Xun, he is the son of the king of the Yan (which can be compared to a Lord more than a King, because he is still under the emperor. Yan Xun will be another emperor in the latter part of the drama).
