It's a shame that fluffly romance dramas get higher ratings while gems like this are stcuk with lower ratings.
I agree, but then again most people prefer to watch something escapist, light and easy that isn’t taxing rather than something dark and heavy. Gotta be in the right mindset to watch some of the darker shows that force you to pay attention.

Took me a while but I finally finished it. It had some good moments but also some draggy ones. I think the tone is uneven and it struggles to integrate the thriller moments in what is essentially a healing romance story.

I think Ian Chase as the male lead would have worked better. Make it a thriller with some romantic moments; In a similar vein to Flower of Evil would have been perfect. I think Ian is a far more compelling character that didn’t get explored much. The ML here was pretty bland. Nothing bad, but nothing special either.

They removed the romance tag which I expected cause this sounds dark and doesn’t need it at all. Maybe it’ll be something similar to the dynamic in Extracurricular cause it’s the same director and the vibe for both is more morally ambiguous.
On Flower of Evil Sep 21, 2021
Okay there’s just something about this villain that I find fascinating. A truly bad and scary individual but man so charismatic. A good foil to the male lead. Loved the whole vibe of the drama. It was the first Kdrama I watched months ago and I couldn’t have picked a better one.
On The Game: Towards Zero Sep 21, 2021
Look I like romance but the way this show did it was truly bad. The characterization is awful. I can understand why the ml likes the fl but the fl liking the ml came out of nowhere. It should have been developed slowly but they just rushed it. Couldn’t buy the scenes with them together cause it was so half baked. Wasted potential. First 2-3 episodes were intriguing.

Okay I finished this in 2 days so you could say that I really liked this. The chemistry between all the kids, boys and girls was insane. It felt like they were all best friends and all the scenes with them together were by favourite.

I only have a few nitpicks mainly that eps 10-12 were really draggy and for some reason for me personally I still felt that the mom of the main boy was still absent in her kids life but that’s just me. They show her caring but it didn’t feel satisfying to me.

Tang Jun Sang is a star. Incredible actor at such a young age.

Haven’t watched this yet but I’m curious about something; does the FL like or is interested in the ML first? I like it more when the the fl is the one who takes the first step.

I’m only on ep 2 but I’m confused about the mom’s relationship with the her family? Is she married or separated from her husband? What’s her relationship with her son like cause he didn’t even bother acknowledging that was his mom when the other boys were talking about her.

This was an intriguing and good drama that I have no real complaints with other than I think the two male leads should have been on the same page sooner. It took them a bit too long for them to work together as a team imo. I know it’s supposed to be mind games where you can’t trust anyone but it did get slightly redundant after a while.

Anyone know what the reception of the drama was like in Korea? Did people there like it more or is it just as divisive?
On Familiar Wife Sep 11, 2021
I think what I liked most about this drama was that there was no real antagonist. It was more of an internal battle for the male lead on how to live his life and with whom. Easy and fun viewing about getting a second chance. Female lead was great.

I am hoping for no forced romance
It’s a NGM drama and he’s good at picking projects with no forced romance.

It was a fun ride but the last two eps are weird in how rushed they are. It’s like squeezing 8 eps worth of story into 2. Never seen Song Kang in anything before but he was great here. Exciting actor and I look forward to see what he does next.

Title A Poem a Day
Fun show with no unnecessary melodrama and a nice, low key romance with no dramatic gestures or breakups. The running gag of the ML giving people advice was great.

Title 18 Again
It’s definitely a crowd pleaser thanks mostly to a great male lead performance from the younger actor. It’s a bit too overly sentimental for my taste and could have better have explored the supporting characters as I felt the way their issues got resolved was really superficial. (most evidently in the case of the school bully and how they barely touched the surface with him) I think a solid 8/10.

I really like this actor. Can play a hero or villain, a romance lead or a supporting role. Big fan. Hope to see him in many more dramas.
On Falling for Innocence Sep 4, 2021
I enjoyed the show, but I wish they showed the FL falling in love with the ML better. I never really got the impression she liked him as much as he liked her.
