Kim Dong Wook in top form as always. FL miscast and not as compelling; I like romance but it’s the least interesting part of the drama because I think fl is mismatched here. Still a solid 8/10
Bae In Hyuk is more suited for Chaebol roles than hardworking blue collar type roles. He is miscast both here and in Cheer Up. The man has swagger to play rich asshole but not earnest Boy Scout. Not convincing at all. The drama overall is meh, as the comment below says it’s soulless. Lacks any poignancy or catharsis to make it rewarding.
Trailers were not great but Han Ji Min usually picks good dramas. It has such a kooky premise lol. I was hoping it was a more somber, slice of life drama but I’ll reserve my judgement. Hopefully not too much slapstick humour.
That shit is like 10 years ago.. I don't think any dramas are like that anymore. It's an old tropeEdit: Except…
Recent dramas with a rich ml and poor fl include : See You in My 19th life, Business Proposal, Crazy Love, The King Eternal Monarch, Run On, Link Eat Love Kill, Good Job, Shooting Stars, Call it Love and lord knows what else. Plus King The Land which you mentioned. This trope is the bread n butter of kdrama. It will never go away lol
Park Hae Jin is one of those actors that is famous but still goes under the radar. Hopefully the drama is a success; I really like him in these types of dramas similar to Bad Guys where he’s got some edge to him.
Will Rowoon be playing another bubbly, naive male lead? Nothing wrong with that but he’s done already with Extraordinary You, She Would Never Know, and The King’s Affection, even Tomorrow. Honestly I think he’d excel playing a more darker role. In due time I hope.
This drama is reminding me of Blind. I thought the killer would be some surprise but the most suspicious one was the culprit. I think it’ll end up being the fake writer and an accomplice
There really is nothing like two miserable people falling in love. Love the drama so far and the chemistry. Reminds me a bit of the drama Lost (2021). Melos with a comforting ambiance despite some depressing storylines are the best vibe there is.
In all seriousness I’m truly intrigued to see how good the production is for this drama because so many articles have talked about how expensive it is. The cast is killer and I hope it’s good.
Sounds like the plot of a movie and with only 4 episodes it’s probably better suited to being a movie. Anyway will watch regardless cause the cast is cool.
Ha Do Young just radiates “cool.” I like him a lot and you can feel the chemistry with Dong Eun. I doubt they will end up together (they don’t even need to) but I hope he has a good conclusion and gets custody of the “daughter” while the bullies get what they deserve.
Ep 7 was really good! It was thrilling and suspenseful. I know some people hate the idea of romance but I like the pairing of Ho Gae and Seol. They have nice banter and they’re alluding they both like each other. Fine by me if it’s written well.
For better or worse the Netflix original kdramas have a different vibe/ feel to the network and cable ones. I enjoyed this one, Narco Saints and extracurricular but hated Hellbound and The Silent Sea. I’m talking ones actually produced by Netflix not ones they just distribute. Glitch is a solid 8/10. Could’ve been tighter, but it was different and tried new things.
They should lean into the mystery aspect more than this trite love triangle; we all know she’ll end up with Jungwoo so I don’t see why they’re prolonging it with the sml. Better yet instead of devoting so much time to the love triangle why not flesh out the supporting cast. They have so little to do they barely feel like characters. I know the demographic for these kind of dramas are for younger people but they should better their writing.
I was never under the impression the fl liked the ml as much as he liked her. It felt one-sided when when they get together. Don’t know if it’s lack of chemistry or the writing but whatever they set out to do- it didn’t work imo.
For a romcom this definitely lacking the com. It’s very rarely funny.
Also the first 4 episodes could have been a drama in of itself. The whole ex coming back and almost getting married could’ve been the whole drama for 16 episodes without the reality tv stuff. It would’ve been more melodramatic but it’s not like what he have now is a fluffy drama.
I think the ML is a solid character though, he has some depth; not really feeling anything for the FL though. If they don’t end up together I wouldn’t even mind, but we know somehow they will.
