Actually, if the reason for them getting together and her being accepted by grandma just for the child, there was no need to show the time leap. It just made an unnecessary part.

I was so scared that he gonna die and there's a BE but thankfully, he survived. Both leads and FL's parents delivered the emotions like their life depends on it and this the main charm for this drama. I especially loved Meng Na's outfit and Jijun's personality switches (vulnerable puppy↔ strong heir) Both had heavily emotional past that made me tear up.
