Nicely built up plot in first half and plenty of action and long climax in second half. But one character is dead. Although I was not fond of his character, it came as shock. Especially if he really whispered "I want to live" I suddenly hoped for him to appear in next scene living a normal life with new identity. Hence 9/10
I can't help but keep thinking about what he whispered before his last breath.
Also, love how FL is not really a damsel in distress. She was terrified but brave enough to pick up gun and shoot. Plus, she freed many of the locked girls and cared for both male leads.
ughhh I hate he died it’s too predictable I wish we found out why they broke up etc and bit a more plot lol…
exactly! My interest piqued to know their backstory? Like why did he say something like "I won't disappoint you again/second time' Give us some more background even if it's just 5 minutes
He was such a precious soul in Search drama with a naturally handsome and warm aura that I checked him and just realised he is also the male lead in 'The Priest' and "'Just Friends'. No wonder I felt his smile looks familiar. Priest is a memorable (and sort of favourite) drama for me for that jaw dropping twist.
I have been watching dramas from last 5 years. Just DON'T watch this. It's really bad.
Should have read this before! 🥲 I don't think I ever took like 4 days to complete 5 episodes. I hate how the scenes keep going back and forth in first 3-4 episodes. Second and most important, it's too predictable hence the thrill, mystery, suspense that they're are trying to build is non-existent.

Then I finished ep 6-10 in like 3 hours by fast forwarding and watching on 1.75x, my heart broke for Yong Dong Jin's father and mother.
8.0 is the overall rating so can't say it's overrated. But I felt it's exaggerated and supernatural at it's peak maybe. The fight in the end was something I didn't expect at all. It's a good one time watch.
If not for the starting 5 minutes or so of father-son moments, I might have dropped it at some point.
I feel both hero and villain lacked some depth in the character. Maybe it's the type and duration. If it was drama with 8-12 episodes, they could develop the character arcs of hero and villain more and relationship with Father Ahn and hero better.

Okay a general overview is the drama is one of the most consistent horrors I have watched. It is definitely a…
Him being alive felt like a failed seal. The moment he stabbed his eye, I believed he won't come back alive then is still alive, that's the protagonist halo.
If they wanted to keep him alive, their should have been some other end (burning the body since burning the bird worked in ep2). There was no follow up on Park Il Do's body.
They found the body in yard(?) and should have burned it. In the beginning they burned the bird and it worked. The spirit lives in ocean but was definitely connected to the in-land body. It had some form of attachment/sensitivity. There was no follow-up about the body.
Since the final blow was sealing him in lead's body and he even stabbed his eye, I didn't think he would come back alive. That was a big surprise. Greater than who actually possessed Park Il Do.
I also like how they successfully moved the doubt from character to character and made me think who is the actual one. The priest ticked all boxes. Even I felt the old man is innocent.
And the reason why Park Il Do was after lead (crack in his will) is crazy but also solid. That's the only plus point for me against 'The Priest' drama. Every other comment in that drama is asking/comparing and hence I ended up watching 'The Guest'. Otherwise, for half of the drama, the teamspirit was kinda lacking.
I dislike how the detective was back to zero in ep 3 (& 5 irc) after witnessing the spirit and exorcism. She took too long to believe in Hwa Pyung.
And the police staff was pretty much rotten. The Congresswoman left unscathed after one murder, one attempted murder, corruption and abuse of power. She should have been in prison instead of winning elections after 1 year leap.
"you definitely get sucked into its dark and unearthly ambience when the scene requests for it"
I never dare to watch horror stuff. I even left the drama mid-way in episode 1 just to come back to it one hour later like "Just one episode, I want to see what happens next" 🥲 And next thing I know, I binged it, sometimes using my had to cover up or muting audio but I still couldn't bring myself to drop it. 😭
Also, "an ace up its sleeve" is so real. I knew who is the evil the moment it appeared but the whole situation from ep 7 to 12 was just crazy!! Everything felt so real that I thought the dream started from the time both leads visited her to get their memories back. I was baffled at the situation where ep 13 started.

Finished watching but they did not answer why the spirit was after Dr Ham.
For half of the drama I believed, she got to know his name 8yrs ago (the condition for taking him out from box could be same as sealing him in the box) and he thinks of her as time bomb after Soo Min meet her in hospital. Like they should justify why the spirit was after her/hospital where she works.
Like the whole concept, execution, eerie background music (yes, I had to.nute sometimes because 9/10 times I skip horror genre), make-up of possessed people/spirit/nun is done in great manner but they left a big hole im the plot.
Also, a spirit who was on the run for 8yrs suddenly approached the person who wanted to free him 8yrs ago is kind of stupid to me.

One time watch if you are in mood for horror / father-daughter relationship but don't have time for a full length 16 episode drama.
If not for the starting 5 minutes or so of father-son moments, I might have dropped it at some point.
