I agree, that was irredeemable and out of place. I ignore that it happened, because it doesn’t fit into the…
Yes, for me, this kind of behavior is irredeemable. I hate it when someone justifies sexual assault or rape in the name of romance.
Unfortunately, this issue is more common in boys' love (BL) manga and manhwa, and bl series don't differ in this regard. I really hate that this trend is frequent and repeated in LGBTQ+ series
This scene should have been cut. The remaining of the drama doesn't show this kind of behaviour don't worry but…
Yes, this scene was unnecessary, but Ig it's show that the ml is actually a red flag. I like character development, so maybe I will gradually like this show later. Now, let's see how it goes.
If you're looking for paragons of virtue and models of positive behaviour, you'll be hard pressed to find any…
I enjoy this type shows when both leads are equally toxic. I really hate it when one lead is a ray of sunshine while the other is a major red flag. So far, I'm feeling a bit bothered by the fact that the main character seems like sunshine, whereas the male lead is the biggest red flag.
Thanks for your advice. I will continue watching. Let's see what happens. I'm currently on episode 2, so it's too early to drop this series.
Started watching this series. Watched the first episode (comedy is good, enjoyable so far) I get that the ML will be a red flag, but I can’t shake off what he did in the first episode. One person betrayed him, so he approved ra*pe in the name of revenge. That’s not just a red flag, that’s a black flag. Disgusting.
Wtf is this?
Ig I’ll continue and see what happens next. But I already hate ml.
I hope the show won’t be turned by some GL fans into a same-sex romance, ruining the beautiful friendship between…
I completely agree. I also get frustrated when people try to sexualize straight friendships. (My point is that I don't have issues with bl/gl. I just have a problem with this issue, regardless of gender identity.) It bothers me when anyone attempts to twist a normal relationship into something romantic or sexual. Why can’t they just be friends? Why does everything have to be about romance or sexuality?
I don’t understand why some people act as if platonic relationships don't exist. Why does random kindness or care or any kind of emotion have to be interpreted as romantic interest? Ik everyone has the free will to interpret things in their own way, but I just find this tendency really annoying.
Vincenzo is not my favourite, but I understand it. For example, Whisper of the Heart is one of my favourite movies. It doesn't have a groundbreaking story, but somehow it gives me a comforting vibe. I can personally relate to the characters.
Relatability is an important factor for me in these kinds of stories. Vincenzo has that mix of comedy and family comfort, but I personally didn’t feel a relatable connection.
I prefer a good storyline, but sometimes, just being able to relate to certain things makes the experience more enjoyable. The cinematography and dialogue writing were really good.(I forgot to mention)
I completed it a few days ago. Here are my overall thoughts:
I love how the show used symbolic elements and touched on important issues like the justice system and corruption, though it didn’t offer anything new on those topics.
The show tries to explore the grey area between right and wrong(both in terms of human nature and the system itself). I liked how every character was somewhat morally ambiguous. They didn’t suddenly change, but adapted to their situations, which felt realistic. There were also some unique side characters. I would have liked it more if they had given those characters more depth through background stories.
I agree that the villain was memorable, but I think it was more due to the actor’s performance than the character itself. The villain character felt a bit cartoonish.
I loved the way the main character handled the revenge aspect. It was brutal and satisfying.
Some people have commented that the comedic elements didn’t work for them and felt cringe, but they actually worked for me. The problem was that the mix of comedy and serious themes felt messy at times. I understand it’s hard to balance both effectively. Sometimes it worked, and sometimes it didn’t.
The biggest issue for me was the pacing. As I’ve already mentioned, it had pacing problems that made it boring and hard to stay focused. A 20 episode series with that kind of pacing is really tough to sit through.
I really like that idea of celebrating everyday. I'm definitely going to start doing that, especially when it comes to food related days. There's always something new to try. ^^
I know it’s not a thriller, so I didn’t come into it expecting that. I really just wanted to enjoy it as a black comedy, especially since I’ve heard a lot of good things about it. But honestly, I had a hard time getting through it and ended up putting it on hold after eight episodes. Now, I’m going to give it another chance. because a drama/series can have a slow start but really shines later on. The Fiery Priest, which also started off slow, but I enjoyed it as the episodes went on (Same screen writer). It was solid 8 out of 10 for me.
I really don't understand why some people think the female lead is annoying. I actually think she's hilarious and I loved her. She's got that goofy, witty vibe going on. Not every character has to be all serious and perfect. Or am I just biased since she's one of my favorite actresses? (I didn't like her character in Itaewon Class. It felt like they were trying to romanticize a sociopath. If I judged her solely based on her acting/her, I probably wouldn't have anything to say about Itaewon Class character. But I really admired how she played it, she made the sociopath vibe feel real. She always tries to take on unique roles. That’s one of the reason I admire her.) Tbh I need this type quirky character more. I love quirky characters.
apparently it's a Chinese anime too? or is that a webtoon is? it popped up as a viki suggestion for me, I'm unfamiliar…
It's originally a manhwa (Webtoon) And was later adapted into a Chinese anime. ( donghua) Are you familiar with manga? Manhwa is the Korean format of manga, which can be described simply as Korean comics. Webtoons are manhwa specifically designed for online reading.
You can try: ''Doom at your service'' if you haven't already. It's a fantasy romance type of drama, and the FL…
I haven't seen it yet, but it's on my watch list. I really admire Park Bo Young; she's not just adorable but also a very talented actress. I've already watched her in two other dramas, Abyss and Daily Dose of Sunshine, and both were great. Especially her performance in Daily Dose of Sunshine was outstanding. In this year, her another drama coming out (Light Shop),And I am excited for this one too.
is it okay if I watch season 2 without watching season 1?
It will be helpful to understand the characters' backgrounds and purposes. I will recommend watching the first season, then the second season. But season 2 has a different plot (so far). So you can watch either.
If you enjoy dramas with idealized male and female leads lacking character depth (solely to feed your fantasies), please skip this drama. Instead, watch another "green forest" drama that fits that description .
Idk what they're trying to prove. They do the same thing with the characters "Baek Hyun Woo" ,"Ko Mun Young" , “Jo Yi Seo”
Stop obsessing over the romance tag. Instead, try to understand the characters and their purpose. This drama is about self-discovery and finding the meaning of life.
