you might be the only one according to the mdl comment section LMAO but thanks for the agreement <3
OMG I NOTICED THAT TOO! It didn't sit right with me even 1% that people were so salty about ANY criticism towards the actors' PERFORMANCES; not them as actual people. Like, I guess I should just mindlessly glaze every actor in everything just because they put in effort to do their job??? Where is the logic in just rating everything a 10 even when it genuinely isn't THAT good. Like, whenever I give something a 10 I usually explain that it's not done super seriously and that it's only a 10 based solely on my enjoyment, because half of the time the writing is so absurd that somehow twists around into being funny. But, like, these people genuinely believe this show is a masterpiece and I cannot for the WORLD of me comprehend why??? You were so right that they can't give a decent enough reason to combat your own so they instead resort to cheap name-calling and bandwagoning in big numbers to look big and force people into stepping down out of stress. And unfortunately, most comics and shows in the BL genre are scored so highly solely because of the good looking guys (regardless of their acting skills) and toxic tropes piled on top of toxic tropes in order to appeal to the crazed fujoshis that are probably 90% of this fandom right now.

Yo didn't know being honest and dramatic for fun in a review was a cry for help. Guess only overly fanatic positive…
"Meltdown"? Meanwhile you personally chose to broadcast a person's single review that never targeted a person themself because you WANTED people to dogpile them. If that doesn't scream toxic and immature then I don't know what does. I've seen middle schoolers have more decency that. And I'm glad you found it funny since my review wasn't supposed to be ultra serious, but the ones that need "therapy" are most definitely the fanatics that use any excuse to target individual commenters just because they didn't worship the ground this show has stepped on. Speaking on "how you say" clearly shows with the crazed people that you so clearly wanted to draw here by singling out my review because you guys can't accept that not everyone will blindly praise a show nor that those who CHOOSE to be honest about their dislike aren't groveling and humbling themselves before the vocal majority of toxic fans that are one hate comment away from picking up a pitchfork. Stop twisting things out of proportion.

Omg, I may have seen that comment weeks back and hearted it! Like, I seriously saw people that were DEFENDING noncon and attacking those that thought it was problematic, since you know, it has plagued queer media for decades. Yet, they jump on the bandwagon of defending every single thing that is produced in and from this show without understanding how any of the questionable aspects can make people dislike it and not want to rate it highly. Also, commenting that you dislike the acting WHATSOEVER will have you bordline lynched. Just look at the comments made by someone under this review that someone linked my review (that never insulted any actor whatsoever) to discouraging actors and for trying to "ruin everything," like????? You are so right about the childish part because I got compared to a "toxic ex gf" and they said I "threw a tantrum" simply because of my review. The irony of these people.....

Yeeeah did you see how someone linked my review and said I needed "therapy" LMAO!? The fanpage is extremely toxic and even when I was being completely neutral in mentioning the second couple episodes back, I was dogpiled by the fanatics that can't be chill yet they call us "toxic" and tell us we need to "calm down" when we are the vocal minority. You're daring for even admitting to agreeing with me so I respect you!!!

Wasn't expecting a response so fast or at all, wow! I admit my review is harsh but that's because I think it's…
I have to respectfully disagree with the sentiment of turning off a show based solely on the first 30 minutes. I try to give a new show at least the entire first episode and even some beyond that since there are some that improve past the first quarter or half (like RakDiao). I can't reciprocate the mindset of avoiding any criticism because it erases the freedom of discussion and fandoms wouldn't flourish half as much without honest reception (and helps improvement of future writers). I doubt you said the same comments to people that gave 10s across the board, yet specifically targeted my review that was honest about my feelings. And in my review I wasn't trying to give any double standards for Chinese BL and I hold it to the same standard as any other queer media adaptation (Revenged Love is also Chinese yet my review was higher than this one). The appeal of this one IS the ABO and so I focused on that majorly since I like the setting. Giving it special treatment for being the "first of its kind" isn't an excuse for questionable writing. Also, I'm sorry but I think you are confused on something in my review because I never targeted any actors negatively. I never target specific staff and if I dislike a performance then I solely dislike that performance, but not that person, do you get what I mean? I understand you are a fan and hoping for a special is meaningful to you along with actor pairings but those are irrelevant to my review, so I am a bit confused on why you brought it up. I'm sorry that it seems like I tried to "ruin everything," but I don't understand how you got to that conclusion. This review was meant to express disappointment of the writing and it seems to have lit a spark with the few that understand my opinion, just as the mega fans are fanning over it under positive reviews and comments. I simply wanted to be a safe space for those few in agreement. Not liking a story is not the same as being a toxic human being as my review was not trying to target the staff or studio that produced it.

I was directed to this review by someone else in the comments and it is so well written. I enjoyed your writing…
Thank you! I'm glad my over-the-top dramatics paid off and made someone laugh (though I meant my statements 100%). I try to make it interesting and I love when comments can respectfully disagree. Scoring the show high is perfectly fine if it was great for you and just because you're a newbie to the ABO doesn't disqualify your interest whatsoever! I love rambly reviews too and I love to see different reviews since it feels for genuine when scoping out a new show/book. Since finding honest reviews that give "negative opinions" are pretty rare (due to fanatical fans) I try to be one of the few that don't stray away from them. I understand I'm in the minority with Hua Yong and Sheng Shao You in disliking them but I completely understand that they appeal to some people over others. Thank you for the positivity! <3

Not being able to handle people not like your OTP is also embarrassing. my review at least admitted that neither couple was ideal and I wasn't glazing them like you guys glaze your favs. I was being honest (though maybe too blunt about it) and being biased is literally every review yet no one starts wars on the overly fanatical 10 reviews nearly as much as the few lower than 7s. Honestly don't see why my review made people so mad.

That's too harsh. If u don't like don't watch it's as simple as that respect those who were hardworkiing to make…
Wasn't expecting a response so fast or at all, wow! I admit my review is harsh but that's because I think it's only right to balance out against the extreme amount of 10s that gloss over the glaring issues. With a show like My Stubborn I was a lot nicer in my review because I understood the general consensus and matched my review with that (just as an example). Also, saying "don't like don't watch" isn't valid here since I watched the show WANTING to like it. I said in my review that I wanted to enjoy it as I am familiar with the ABO. Using the amount of people that worked on a project as a way to deter criticism and excuse poor writing is not something I endorse and my review was not targeting any of the production team specifically. Reviewers are allowed to voice their dislikes without it being an insult to actors and the team as individuals. Same as saying you don't enjoy a book without meaning you hate the writer personally. Blindness praise is just as harmful as negative reviews and people that are looking to reviews as reference on whether to give something a try deserve a decent range of honest receptions. In addition, I'm pretty sure the last episode is THE last episode, so that doesn't excuse their dry ending. Side stories and specials should NOT have to conclude a story or open ending. That's a bad writing tactic. As for your last sentence, I'm sorry I couldn't discern what you meant.

I'm unsure yet. Like I said it depends on the individual omegaverse. He might be more conscious since he goes through heats often so his mind might be more resilient? I guess we'll just have to see. 🫡

How on Earth did Shen WenLang not recognise Gao Tu?
In omegaverse, depending on the author's writing of said verse, an alpha going in rut can be just as jarring as a heat for an omega. He went into a sudden strong rut that clouded his mind and senses and put him into an almost drunken state. So they tend to have fragmented memory of this time like someone heavily drunk or on heavy sleeping meds. Hope that helped.

IKR, they would lose their sh*t LMAO.I still do not know how they they want to adapt Painter of the night because…
I HIGHLY doubt those will ever get faithful adaptations. Korea just isn't evolved enough to adapt the current popular BLs like that. They stick to the tamer ones like Semantic Error and A Shoulder to Cry On. Even if they get there one day they probably won't ever adapt the ones that people rave about right now since people will have moved on to newer things (not that it's impossible to adapt old novels and manhwa, just that they lose popularity over time). And as someone who has read quite a few of the "toxic" ones people want adapted, I'm honestly glad they won't be. So many of those are just questionable smut with little story substance. Story-driven ones should be adapted or at least consensual smuts. But idk that's just what I think about it.

Well I wonder how the show is gonna handle that, considering how sensitive the topics are even in ABO. Well, we did come here to watch an omegaverse after all, so I can't complain seeing them include heats and pheromones ¯\_(ツ)_/¯.

Yeah you're right that this series uses omegaverse for toxic relationships instead of healthier omegaverse. But yeah making sure not to label all of ABO as being toxic or dark romance because it will scare people away from all of ABO if they don't like dark stories.
