Every episode I'm watching Sea to see if he screws up and reacts to something in a way only a sighted person would. We're seven episodes into the series now and not only have I not seen him screw up once, but he's even had very subtle/natural jump scares to sounds, etc. that there's no way he didn't know were going to happen. A lot of productions will have a visually impaired character have a type of impairment that allows them to use the fog contacts so it actually limits the actors vision some to get a better performance, that doesn't at all seem to be the case with this series so unless they've come up with a new type of contacts that can cause the same effect for the actor but have no visual que for the audience, Sea is just doing that amazing of a job with this character.

With "The Miracle Of Teddy Bear" I thought Thailand was FINALLY embracing the usage of "nude" underwear (for those that don't know it, it's semi sheer skin tone underwear aka covers the private bits but makes the rest look nude unless they wear a size too small), then other series got on board using it as well and for the couple that didn't it became a game of spot the mistakes in the camera angles, etc. so that was okay....

Last time I tried I couldn't find any eng subs for Gay Ok Bangkok so I never had the chance to watch it, but now knowing they worked on that together I'll have to look again to see if I can find a subbed version.
Everyone is probably going to think I'm crazy for saying this, but the more this series goes on, the more I wish Aof Noppharnach Chaiyahwimhon (director of Bad Buddy) and Jojo Tichakorn Phukhaotong (Director of Only Friends) had partnered up and done this series, even if they had to partner / start a production company that isn't GMM to do it.
I get it, Copy A Bangkok wants to try to be as edgy as possible, but everything is suffering because that's where the only focus is so instead of edgy it's just cringe AF. This needed the NC scenes (especially the Boston / Nick level ones ) of "Only Friends", but the finesse that Aof brings with his characters and the two of them together would bring the "Not Me" social issues aspect as well.
The "who did it?" aspect of the series is enough of an intrigue to keep you watching through the cringe, but this series easily could have been one of the best of the year if it was in much more capable hands. Credit where credit is due, the Nicholas Sparks movie line was amazeballs. lol
The first three episodes were good, then with episode 4 they decided to hell with the character development in the first three episodes we're just going to make everyone (except Atom) messy as hell. By about 5-10 minutes into episode 5 I was already really glad this ends with episode 6.
Decent series, Mild plays the perfect psycho, Korn was annoying as hell at times and I think they could have written the character a lot better. Of course it was going to turn out like this with Kun staying, who doesn't do stupid shit for their first love? lol
Whoever cast Aungpao in this series really did make a fatal mistake in that casting because he is completely stealing the show. lol I like Off and Gun, but this has become "Where's Dy?", "What crazy is Dy going to go next?", "How much is Dy going to explode when Fire decides to fuck with him back and plants a kiss on him?", etc. things like that. Hopefully his performance in this series doesn't get him typecast forever like what happened to Neo because he's crushing his first role and really hope to see how he develops as an actor.
Since this keeps coming up week after week after week and on a number of shows, here's an education for you:
EDITED: An Edited episode / series / movie is typically edited to reduce it's runtime to fit within a tv time slot structure and to allow time for commercial breaks. It's also often used in conjunction with Censored for content to keep it within a certain rating.
UNCUT: An "Uncut" episode / series / movie is the full runtime of the episode / series / movie without it being edited to fit within a time slot (think a 1 hour episode airing on tv whos runtime is cut down to 40-50 minutes to add in commercial breaks, etc. Because streaming isn't restricted to specific time slots they can allow the episodes to run longer. That's why you see a lot of uncut episodes running 1:06 minutes or weird times like that.
*NOTE: UNCUT can also include extended scenes that contain footage that is a slight step above what some other platforms allow. IE. Youtube doesn't allow them to show a buttock, but another platform allows brief buttocks shots, so that scene is edited out for youtube and uncut for others.
CENSORED: Typically used in the case of an episode / series / movie that is edited to fit within a certain rating, ie less violence, blood, gore, sexual themes, etc. In the case of countries like China, it can also refer to material that was cut out to conform with local laws, IE Chinese BL series having to be edited into bromance series.
UNCENSORED: This typically also includes uncut / extended scenes. This is where they edit in the scenes that would push the rating of the episode / series / movie beyond their target rating. So yeah for all you horny ones out there wanting to see all the glory bits, you want either uncensored or unrated, although every once in a great while an uncut version (with a higher rating) can drop a quick breadcrumb flash here and there. lol
As far as to question why they bother with certain camera angles, etc. if they're just going to blur it... think about it, if you're home alone, have your own bathroom, etc. things like that and you wake up and it's either rush to the bathroom and barely make it or take your time to put on your underwear, etc. so the no one there doesn't see your private bits and you end up pissing yourself in the process, what are you going to do....you're gonna run your butt naked ass to the bathroom as fast as you can before your slipping in a puddle of your own pee. It's the same thing with choosing those camera angles and then just blurring it, it's more natural. There's also conveying an emotional aspect in those types of scenes as well, again even though they blur parts out. Using this series for example, Showing the guys naked showering, dressing, standing around naked talking/teasing shows of their physical strength, their bond together, etc. and while they haven't used it for this purpose in this series, it can also be used as a method of distraction from clues such as a scar, etc. that might be a bit too obvious at the time if there wasn't something to pull your focus from it.
Anyways hope this helps clear up the confusion on the different terms, etc.
After watching the first episode this very much feels like it's going to be one of those single / few location simple character driven series that have quickly become some of my favorite series to watch.
Rookie Thailand may have rather simple slice of life series, but the one thing they consistently manage to do is pair up castmates that work really well together despite most/all of them having little to no acting experience.
Seeing the Cafe location made we want to watch "Escape To Homestay" again, which was another great character driven series.
Well episode 5 was at least a huge improvement in one aspect, the extra extra jumbo crotch cup was nowhere to be seen...I can only assume that someone thought it was a ramen bowl and used it for their lunch and that's why whoever was in charge of wardrobe for the day didn't use it.
Strip away the bad camera work, bad directing, bad acting, bad character styling, and terrible story execution and there's actually a really decent story there with the mystery aspect and them trying to humanize sex workers who really don't get the understanding/credit they deserve. I really wish someone other than Copy A Bangkok had picked this series because if it was executed properly it really could have been amazing instead of the extended RICH underwear commercial and 80's/90's drug induced music video style cinematography love child this is.
And yes as of right now I'm still going to stick this one out to the end because damn you Dech you've made me want to find out what the hell happened to Nant, if he's really not just a split personality of Nont.
I do definitely have to agree with Ellie below thou, the Nont with wings shot was actually really cool.
"There's not a soul on earth that could stand you", even more than his break up with Rain, more than the failed attempts, this is the one thing that really got Sunshine. We've never seen him with friends, never seen him talk to or about his family, it makes me think that Rain in the only person he has left and his desperation is more about not wanting to be left completely alone than it is about his love for Rain. At least that's where I'm hoping they go with it.
Take swiss cheese and fill all the wholes with nukes and then set them off...that's still an understatement to the amount and size of plot holes in this series. It's like they didn't want to just tell a run of the mill high school bl story so they took a bunch of story ideas put them up on the wall and then threw darts at then and which one was hit was what they went with, but then ended up half-assing everything. Hell a run of the mill high school bl with Tor and Mix would have been amazing, instead what we got were crumbs of them together through a handful of episodes and the rest they had no idea what to do with.
Hopefully Tor, Mix, and Toey will land future projects with better material.

They always say the sweetest actors in real life are the ones that play the best asshole characters, Best's mom and Indy definitely fit that, and Chalarm for most of the series as well.
