I was trying to find the answer here, but it's difficult browsing through all of these comments... is it a happy ending ? Even if the drama is great I don't think I can handle a sad or even an open ending knowing well this will probably never get a sequel knowing where it comes from and how popular it has gotten since release.
Beautiful depression - full of rollercoasters, beautiful story-telling, great acting and hopefully just a set up for a continuation. I really hope S2 will be possible. (Thx everybody for the IMDB and petition tips, did my part too, we can do this together <3)
The series started out masterfully, but the latter episodes felt like it was dragging on for too long, too much miscommunication, the distance between the two basically grew as we progressed and while I was hoping the quarrel and misunderstandings would last for a bit, they lasted for way too long. There were so many made up obstacles in their relationship, that in the latest episodes it became very tedious and difficult to withstand. In general I'm not sure how I feel about Taichi being so incredibly dense throughout the whole series, it was so difficult to watch them being separated for no apparent reason, lack of communication is annoying, but when it's done to this degree it's borderline infuriating and takes away from the general artistry of the series. Remember everything in moderation is the key to success, there has to be a balance and sadly the balance was lost in the later stages of the series. I really thought up until halfway point that it would be an easy 10/10, they were doing well as actors, it was different, nothing felt overdone or overdrawn, it was awesome. Sadly they just couldn't keep up with the way they started, my engagement in the last two, especially last episode plummeted drastically and the ending definitely didn't feel like an ending. They barely spoke to each other even in the last episode, poetically they went back to the place where their journey has started, yet the chemistry was less visible than during the mid-point of the show. Didn't necessarily want them to kiss, but the confession scene with the awkward hug was their lowest acting point in the series. It definitely could have used a proper episode to close the gap between them, clear the miscommunication and confusion that has been lingering for majority of the series, cause the ratio just didn't feel right, we basically sat through hours of them barely communicating to 10 lines of dialogue between them in the last 2 minutes of the show. Instead of focusing on the stars of the show it became just a bunch of banter with supporting chars and Maya was... there, they tried to give her a story and a purpose, but I'm not sure it translated well, cause I didn't feel anything, I wasn't angry or annoyed at her, nor was I moved or touched by her story. Imo it took up unnecessary time and shouldn't have lasted longer than one episode. Her character felt like a mosquito, that doesn't bite you, but insists flying around you for hours... While I'd definitely rate 1st half of the show a 10/10, the latter half can't get more than 6/10 since it was just ok at best. Also I'm quite forgiving here, since they stuck to the source material, but the non-kiss kiss should have been left behind a decade ago... I'm pretty disappointed with how the show has wrapped up, good luck to the actors on their paths. 8/10
is it worth watching? i am usually left disappointed after watching Korean BLs because of no or lazy kiss scenes...…
In this production, the kisses are very nice, they aren't any french sloppers, devouring each other faces, but they for sure are proper kisses, full of emotion and you don't have to wait too long for the 1st one. There's no funky camera work, no dead fish kisses, plus the leads really suit each other. I highly recommend it, cause on top of that you get nice acting and in general good production.
Honestly with all of this premature judgement and spiteful lowering of the general score, I wish the score at least didn't display, until the series finishes airing. You can still read comments and interact with people to get a better grasp at how good a series is. Just like in this case, the rating was bombarded after one episode for no reason. With some other, way more popular productions the ratings are SKY HIGH, even tho nothing happens and the acting is questionable. But just because it's popular it gets suddenly a pass and for what... for 30-50 minute long intro with product placements all over ? iykyk The rating can sometimes steer you in the right direction and help you avoid some stinkers, but MOST of the time it's a popularity contest and should be looked at, as last, but sadly it's the first thing everybody notices :<.
I can't stop thinking about this gorgeous man since "Bake Me Please"
Honestly... it wasn't too good and sadly he was the "bad guy" for most of the series... I mean they sorted stuff out in the end, but you don't really get that satisfaction at least in his case. I'd say if just for him, then don't watch it, but then again... I just wanted to see more of him lol. I guess it's something to watch while you're out of material and need some background noise to fall asleep to lol... I can't wait for this series to be fully out, cause I need him on my screen.
Poom... the man that you are. He drank 99% of the "beauty potion" before spawning and left barely anything for others :<< What a gorgeous and talented man.
Was the series great ? Not necessarily, it was sometimes quite dull, not too exciting. But it definitely made up in the chemistry department, and I don't mean here only NC scenes, yes they were cool, but the leads just felt so natural to watch, like they were melting into each other. I enjoyed their energies together, so if not them working that well together, I'd probably be really bored, but seeing them for the first time, it was a very pleasant experience. I also loved that the actors themselves did all the stunts, it's impressive and requires a lot of strength and skill. The only part that annoyed me a lot was last episode, everything felt extremely rushed, especially with the 2nd relationship, they could have given them one episode to properly build it up, since the chemistry and idea was there... So while the series itself would have been 4/10, I enjoyed the leads a lot, was expecting them to be quite stiff, so while their individual acting left room for improvement, the way they interacted with each other felt way better 6.5/10
It was quite the struggle to finish. Since... it almost made no sense to make a series out of it ? Smart re-telling of all that has happened in this series, that actually brought any value or substance to the table could have been done in about 2 episodes. I didn't mind the main couple, they acted ok, they had some chemistry and their NC scenes felt quite passionate and tender. The second couple literally got about 17 seconds of screentime, nothing happened between them and we just got shown the end result of them allegedly "being together", which is a shame, since I wanted to see more of them. The premise of this show felt literally pointless, they haven't changed as people, haven't grown, it's just that one became a successful commercial star and the other one finish his studies and became a doctor, but the reason for this show, their whole separation, the misunderstanding... it was borderline silly, or at least it was written in such a way. I completely understand, that misunderstandings and fears are a big part of why relationships don't happen, don't work out, especially in marginalized communities, but this just wasn't done well, it didn't have an impact and it was told over 7 episodes, when technically it was revealed in episode 1. We waited for the punchline of the joke for waaaay too long, even tho it was obvious way earlier. I wish them all good luck on their paths, hope whatever they will "continue", it will involve honest dialogue, cause I'm not watching another 8 episodes of this lol. It wasn't terrible, but it was for sure quite boring. 5/10
It started off ok, I wouldn't say well, it wasn't anything special to begin with... We have the stereotypical enemies to lovers, but taken to an extreme. Seheon and Doyoon, are naive, but precious angels walking on earth. But I do not support whatever started happening the whole 2nd part of the series. One gets degraded, insulted, yelled at and physically assaulted (imo it was definitely a physical violation, which was extremely uncomfortable to witness). Not even 10 minutes later, Taeyi is forgiven for his atrocious doings ? I don't think so, it literally felt like regressing back in time to 2014, when BLs first started getting popular and SA, bullying and insulting was viewed as "romantic, artsy, being excused by characters' past" etc.. I thought we're far beyond that and when people still behave like that it doesn't take simple "I'm sorry" for the matter to be over. I wish there was way more of Taeyi actually understanding, reflecting, missing Seheon, we need to make sure his character won't have outbursts like that every 2 weeks, this felt completely rushed. Same situation with Jooha, he was a bully through and through, I literally couldn't care less for whatever circumstance he was in, if he wants to take care of his sister and protect her, do it, but don't insult and assault everybody for no reason. Additionally Jooha calling Doyoon and his feelings "dirty and weird", TWICE, even after he "accepted" those feelings tells me all about his character and how this relationship will pan out in the future. This guy is not made for relationships, especially not a same-sex one. Also Doyoon still accepting him after all the beatings and insults... domestic violence glorification pretty much. It was just extremely uncomfortable to watch, since all the negatives and disgusting things those characters were saying and doing were glossed over as if it's nothing, which is wrong on so many levels. I just wish Doyoon and Seheon had more backbone and required more than one simple gesture for them to accept all the wrong-doings of their partners... That's not how people grow, that's how they learn they can get away with everything and abuse how much their partners adore them. On the other hand I appreciated the fact that they showcased Taeyi attending therapy session and taking medication due to his depression, insomnia. The characters had... some chemistry, but it definitely was lacking, I think the friendship between Seheon and Doyoon had more chemistry than them with their partners. They did pretty well on the acting part, but it's not something I'll re-watch, or remember fondly. It needed definitely more time to let those characters cook, in this state, everything past halfway was chicken raw... salmonella... I appreciate the different, more raunchy direction, but I think they lost the map and their GPS broke, so they got lost on their way... (And I won't excuse any of their actions, just because actors are good-looking) 5.5/10
This series left me wanting more in the best way possible. Even tho the ending was quite ok, considering how the series started, it was basically a full-circle moment, the actors had great, overflowing chemistry. I couldn't get enough of them together. Even tho the side characters were slightly annoying to begin with, their motives were clear and not petty. I loved everything about this series and what happens rarely, I wish the series had one more episode just to feed us more chemistry and actually fill in the gap that sort of was created between the last two episodes. They just probably had only enough resources to do 6 episodes, and they had to make choices, could have definitely been 10/10, but there was just a huge jump, that sort of broke the pace of the show, just to much of a sub-plot was thrown into the show at the last minute, if they wanted to do it properly, with the whole separation and family heritage, they definitely needed another episode, maybe even two. The actors definitely delivered, it was extremely pleasant to see them together. I'll give it 8.5/10. What happens very rarely, it's one of the shows I'll re-watch in the future.
Truly not for everybody. Personally seeing all this commotion whether it is BL or not makes me sad, since it's such a nice production regardless. It is very short and there's some holes that could be filled in regarding story-telling, but it's done nicely either way. It is love between two beings (one is an angel) and a story of two who struggled and despised life in similar manners. They bonded and brought the best out of each other. It is a tragic story of a lot of misfortune in the lives of those two, but it was nice to watch. I really enjoyed it even tho the ending is an obvious tear-jerker, since... well one is an angel, the other one still chose life thanks to the one who couldn't. If not for the angel probably both would have ended on the same path, and whether it's in his mind, hallucinations or some sort of manifestation, it is important what it did to him and how it uplifted him in the end.
Girl, I really hope somebody just typed the wrong name or something, there's no way they can do anything remotely close to what "Addicted Heroine" is with this cast. I'm sure Mac is a great kid, but exactly... he is a kid and this is not a role for him. Jail... who was the casting director cause I hope they are not roaming around doing any more castings in their life.
The amount of product placement was overwhelming. The plot was quite messy and just... out of nowhere. No indication for most events, it was just all happening out of the blue. REGARDLESS, the cast did pretty well, obviously most of it was acted over-the-top, since it's rom-com driven, but the emotional scenes were well done, which I appreciate. Sadly there's not so much to appreciate in the story department, I guess they also got it on 80% discount, just like the expired can of Pineapple they seem to never have sold, since it was in the background for the entirety of the series xD. I liked the guys acting here, there was even one guy from Lovesick whom I did recognize and he also did well. All and all, it's nothing spectacular, quite over the top, I know it's stylistic here, but most importantly the cast did quite well, which made all of it watchable and i'd dare to say enjoyable.
Quite well done friends to lovers production. Nothing we haven't seen before, but also it wasn't dragging on forever. There was a plan and it was timely realized. The confusion, the angst, the realization, the confession, everything followed pretty quickly and I enjoyed watching this process. Quite a bit of fluff, not something I'd obsess over or re-watch time and time again, but definitely an enjoyable little series.
A decent, short series. Provided enough backstory for context, little bit more interesting topic than usual in those HS/UNI settings, sadly not expanded upon enough. The chemistry between the leads wasn't overflowing but I guess they did the job done. It's an okay watch, but definitely not something I'm eager to re-watch. I've seen way better both acting- and plot-wise from SK. I'm not gonna say it does or doesn't deserve xyz, but it's definitely rated higher than I would have expected for series of such simplicity and length.
