yes what Im saying: the characters are from Hongkong but not the mandarin speaking actors . nevertheless good actors learn different dialects. they could have tried to speak it to make the final dubbing more believable.

she falls into this novel and it's like a video game with the pager giving her tasks. she read the novel, so she knows some background. just continue :) beginning is a bit confusing but it will all clear up in a view episodes.

but how do you empathize on the martial arts? historical fiction could be no fights and action, only intrigues.

yeah it's more a war drama, but sects are involved and in the beginning the fightings aren't happening on a battlefield. to me, war dramas are about actual history and not made up fantasy. it's set in a world with unrealistic martial arts, even so they don't fly around.

race to romance was so freaking believable! almost a BL 🤭

holy smoke! by far the best wuxia-romance in a long time. I hesitated to watch: is this another hype but disappointing like legend of the female general?(watch shadow love instead) no. chasing jade is really good.

we, the novel readers, can't imagine they can tell everything in 9 episodes 😅 what could they possibly cut out? shorten yes, but not telling parts means changing the plot? and for now they are really close to the OG material. they even added scenes 😂

it wasn't fast paced as it's happening early in the novel, too. else, the story between Liuyi and Chusan would have ended with writing the script but now it's really starting.

I read the novel and he was more important to him than a big brother. half of the story is about taking revenge for his death.

but the guys were Chinese in to my shore and they speak Chinese in the novel, too... here they are from Hongkong and can't speak mandarin. it's an artistic choice I support. should the actors have at least tried to pronounce the words in Cantonese to make the dubbing more seamless? yes.
