I fully agree that love triangles just take away from the main. I prefer when there are no love triangles. I don't know if you saw the recent drama "run-on" but I loved that there was two sets of leads but they had their own romantic connection and there was no triangle whatsoever. I wish they made more of those.

So what did you want to whine about regarding the love triangle? I am really enjoying both of the male characters but clearly she's meant to be with the one. But at least it looks like the second male lead is not a dirt bag. I'm really hoping that he continues to not be a dirt bag. Although with everything going on now who knows maybe he'll end up being turned into the male lead.
Can someone tell me if the second female lead is evil or out to get the main female lead?
I'm not sure if she's evil per se it seems more like she's just a little on the crazy go nuts side. But, it also seems as though she suffered because her people were slaughtered so maybe she is very cautious about who she pisses off. And so she'll use whatever means she can to survive.
Just watched 35 & 36. 35 had the sweetest moment when SH found out LZ was the little girl, probably the best he's…
I watched episode 35 and I didn't see the part where SH found out about that. Where exactly did it happen? Maybe I missed something. I know when they're doing the snowman and they give each other the envelopes he says "you're mine" or something like that and she says "I am mine and you're mine" but that doesn't necessarily mean that he knew she was a little girl. So maybe I missed something before that????
Speaking of happy endings… Does my girl Baili get one? I know when the other version she left to work with underprivileged children for a semester and then at the end she showed up again at the graduation and the older dude was there because apparently had actually fallen for her. Did the same thing happen here? I'm hoping she gets a happy ending.
I still enjoyed this one. Probably not as much as the cdrama but definitely not bad that I had to drop it. The…
The final episode in this version was definitely better than the Cdrama. They tagged the ML's thoughts to the end of the 23rd episode in the version. And the 24th episode was just flashback. At least in this version the Final episode was his true thoughts about everything. It wasn't overly different from the other version but since they had the whole episode to show his thoughts did expand it a little bit. I enjoyed both versions though I did like the other version a little more but only because there was more story to it.
I agree the show runner is definitely must've liked this particular actress more than the others to focus on her so much. I don't even think she's focused on that much in the book. Then again I've only read part of it.
She gets a happy ending with the other guy?? Ugh. I mean if it gets her to stop obsessing over SHN I suppose that's fine. But it's kind of lame that she would get the happy ending and our lead couple would get a open ending. Of course like I said before I know that they do end up getting married in the end but at least they should've shown that in this version rather than leaving it to the viewers imagination because not everybody has read the books.
I agree that this version was definitely a lot harsher in its treatment of the characters. I do understand that it's called unrequited love but I did feel like you that the theme was definitely over done.
Also, I really disliked how much a part of this show Ye Zhan Yan was. They spent so much screen time on her in various episodes that I started skipping anything with her in it. And I pretty much skipped everything with her artist friend and Luo Zhi's cousin because I just couldn't stand how overdone it was.
However, one bright side for me was Zheng Muirei. I felt as though his character was very well developed in this version. But of course the poor guy was used a lot in this version between the two leads and I didn't like that.
I definitely have mixed feelings for the show as well. I did like that certain situations were added into the show that weren't in the other version such as the debate and the competition.
However, that being said I really got tired of how long they kept the main couple apart. I like that this version of Luo Zhi was sassier and self sufficient but I think there was a point where all of us viewers felt enough was enough.
I think if the writers had planned to end the show this way then they should've gotten a couple together a lot sooner rather than playing the "apart, together, apart, together, apart, together" over and over again.
That happened in the other version as well so it's not really a spoiler to me but disappointing. The other version had them getting back together at the end of the show as well after spending a good portion of time apart. But at least they tagged on the little wedding part. If I'm supposed to decide what happens next obviously they got married haha.
I wonder why they didn't include that when the couple does get married. The other version included that as a way to tell us how it all ends. I don't think there is a second season planned for this show seeing as it was filmed a few years ago. But then again, they just released the companion series to Go Go Squid so maybe they will eventually film a second season. But that's very disappointing.
Pretty sure the 23rd was the last episode of regular content and the 24th is just a fun extra like the Chinese…
I've been waiting in anticipation for "river" and I wasn't disappointed by the first two episodes. Kim So Hyun is my favorite Korean actress so I had high expectations for this one. It's a well produced show in my opinion. You?
