I never said 'inside' in my above comment-I said visited, and the tourists' area is literally part of the place-the place is a tourist attraction. That's still the issue?
To clarify, what do you mean by the truth? He was definitely there. Do you mean the truth of whether he's patriotic, or not patriotic, or along the lines? Because so far the debate has really been about whether this constitutes enough of a problem to cancel him, which especially has much more of a divide outside of China.

The only link I can see between ZZH and KW is Wang Sicong? Wang Sicong is proposing to Zanilla, and ZZH is about…
Who is KW?

-Again, it’s not because of one picture . As for one of the more controversial points, he was shown to have visited Yasukuni Shrine for several years.

Dilraba's future work may not shown till early next year. If you have yet to watch her previous historical drama…
I know that one of the biggest problems with Chinese dramas is with the lack of quality writing coming from screenwriters or even the lack of respect for screenwriters.

I do dislike the tropes a lot, and I see some shows breaking away from them now more as a contrast. However, I'm not really saying skinship is necessary. More that themes in romance dramas aren't even delivered well or coherently.

This is exactly how I want my romance dramas: stress free, mature, romantic, pretty, main couple only, smart characters,…
For some reason all your above requirements put together is definitely rare to find in a drama, haha.

Personally wouldn't recommend 'Stand By Me' because of the more floaty plot (but this is more typical of romances dramas, so if just looking at the good looks, then no problem with that)
Try 'Crush', I believe it has just finished airing and has garnered a lot of positive reviews even in China, where netizens are notoriously harsh haha.

Supposedly, the two leads look great and have make normal logical conclusions and art smart. Haven't watched it yet but everyone says its good. I'd say the modern-romance category is still not the best genre for Chinese dramas, but its nice to see more.

Or, you could check out 'You Are My Hero', which aired earlier this year. I did watch that one and that was pretty good.

Wow, that was a great watch. This one gets a high score. I hope this leads to better-produced romances, this is the standard (or at least the goal, come on).

Wish they hadn't kept that one-liner in that cab last episode in English-I was in tears and then it had me cracking up.

jk, but honestly I was stunned by that ending montage towards the title card and the rocket launch. Those glasses also really worked well on Yang Yang for increasing his age.

Disclaimer : I got all the informations from my Chinese friend who is neither a fan nor a hater.I think ZZH has…
Oh, I'm not very aware of all of this sentiment towards him. Personally, I have never really followed his work, so the most I've known about him was around this scandal. I follow the Chinese entertainment news quite regularly so I understand the gist of what you mean. And as for ALBB, ZZH is under Zhao Wei's (very famous actor and director in China) agency, and she is known to have affiliations to Ma Yun, so.

But obviously we can only guess. For now, I think his biggest known offence towards the Chinese Public has been this recent incident. And honestly, he did gather a lot of star power, a lot more than I anticipated when I found out about this scandal, after Word of Honor. I was honestly very surprised as it did not feel like the next starts to catapult to fame overnight would include him. I think this news has been quite a shocker to me, too.

Thanks for the detailed explanation. And about that nazi salute I heard somewhere that it was related to his film…
Basically it insinuates he's trying to act like he's nationalistic and through that is lying- because he says in his caption he's in China celebrating National Day yet he is seemingly is in Tokyo.

I understand what you mean. However, the lawyer's statement is only directed towards the netizen's findings.

Additionally, I'm not saying here that ZZH is a complete scumbag of an arse of a, well, I don't know, complete moral failure or anything.

I understand how most celebrities have very irritating encounters with commentators or antifans-have we not seen enough from so many other examples? Yet understanding for other situations is a different idea to the current situation.

No, it's not true. It's also a photo he posted. I have not heard about this rumor, so I was thinking, is it maybe a military drama he did? I remember he was in 'Please Give me a Pair of Wings' (which I forgot I watched as well), but no gesture extends as far as the Nazi salute.
I think that's maybe debatable with the gesture's meaning, but it really doesn't look god for him.

Still, this isn't the current focus of attention of ZZH.

Firstly, the incident is not over one image.
Also, it's true that the fact that this came out at such a time is suspicious. However, as far as we know, a netizen first spotted the photo with the Japanese Rising Sun Flag. Of course, this does not eliminate the possibility of other forces lurking behind. However, this fact in itself does not erase anything ZZH has done.

Composite Timeline: (This is also highlighted in several articles)

2017-ZZH shares a photo of a car with the Japanese Rising Sun Flag.

*From the internet: The Japanese Rising Sun Flag is representative of the Imperial Japanese Navy, and was used when Japan colonized the Korean Peninsula and invaded and occupied China.

2018-On China's NATIONAL DAY, ZZH shares (rough translation), 'On this nationally celebrated holiday (I) of course have to go back into my homeland's embrace. During the National Day Period (I) won't go anywhere. (I'll only be) at home, enjoying the warmth of my homeland (country). Happy Birthday, I love you, China', though the photos attached indicate he is at Ginza,Tokyo.

2018-ZZH takes photos outside of Yasukuni Shrine

*The Yasukuni Shrine commemorates the Japanese who have died in wars from the 19th century, including World War II

And more details of controversial visits from Japanese Emperors/Prime Ministers are here:
https://www.postguam.com/the_globe/philippines_asia/why-yasukuni-shrine-is-a-controversial-symbol-of-japans-world-war-ii-past/article_5aaf93c0-fbfe-11eb-a11c-fb27672952bf.html

2019-ZZH visits the Nogi Shrine to attend his friend's wedding

*Nogi Shrine is named for Nogi Maresuke, a prominent Japanese general who was heavily involved during the Sino-Japanese War invasion of China (such as the Port Arthur Massacre).

ZZH takes a photo with Ratna Sewi Dewi Soekarno, also known as Dewi Fujin in Japan

Her husband launched 'The September 30th Incident', also known as Gerakan 30 September, comprising of an anti-Communist massacre, including many Chinese.
She herself is also known for displaying anti-Chinese comments, which means she is obviously unfriendly when it comes to China. Additionally, during the 2017 Asian Games, it was found that the APA hotel guest rooms displayed books that denied the existence of the Nanjing Massacre and Comfort Women (this itself is a huge controversy internationally). She was invited on a television show where she excused the incident in terms of 'free speech'.

Therefore, ZZH's photo with her is....controversial to say the least.
-
Of course, you can say that many of them may be coincidences. However, there is also his hypocritical statement:

In the public apology ZZH sent out, he apologizes for his naivety (towards his knowledge of the local culture and history).
However, his statement was attacked, because:

Part of Zhang Zhehan's public persona has been his love of reading. In fact, his fans compiled a booklist of all of the books he has read (that they know of).

Two of the books listed in the booklist, 'Kafka on the Shore', and 'Killing Commendatore very specifically talk about the Yasukuni Shrine and Japanese Revisionism.

This to many people is yet another offending factor, that when in light of public persona ZZH's love of reading is marketed and where he shows apparent ignorance for landmarks such as the Yasukuni Shrine he professes his naivety.

-

The first photo was dug out in July, In response, ZZH deleted the post, though he then shared a Weibo post insinuating the netizens were being nosy and continued forth with a lawyer's statement warning those who spread malicious rumors to stop at once. Additionally (this part is a bit hard to translate) but on the post's tail (that is, the subheader to the post which lists the time and date and from what device the post is posted, in which you can add a phrase) it says 'Tidy up (them) one by one'.

As for the other extra photos such as the apparent Nazi Salute, sitting on the tombstone of a revered Chinese figure, inappropriate gestures etc.-those are just extras, they're not the main point, I think some of them could be excused and some are also unclear. The focus is on the shrines AND his attitude.
-

That's about it for now.

Edit: By a general scope, what does comparing ZZH to Kris Wu say about viewers as a whole? Celebrities, especially in the East (and in China and Korea where actors, singers, and entertainers are mixed in with the concept of idols) are supposed to be role models, and represent who you aspire to be like. The increasingly lowering standards for celebrities is concerning. The comparison does not erase anything.

Honestly, this is not just about politics.

*Also, again, this is just about ZZH himself, so let's not relate it to Word of Honor or any of his dramas. ZZH has struck a very sensitive nerve, so I highly doubt he will come back in the public light.

The fact that a person Heart can be hurt cause certain actors don’t date is beyond weird 😂😂I can’t understand…
*A Metaphor. I just meant that people feel offended on behalf, worried, get to worked up-when in fact, following these shows should be a relaxing, enjoying process.

A comment I saw on bilibili (in a joking sense) which I think can be applied here over shipping:

If their relationship is real, then just ship,
If this is marketing, well then, isn't the point of the marketing for you to ship,
If their relationship is fake, then cherish the chance to ship!

Anyways, there's nothing wrong with shipping characters. I think it's alright to ship actors, and it's not like one can go around forcing people to not ship, but just keep to yourselves about the real-life aspect. Nothing is very clear behind-the-scenes and like the comment has said, as it can be interpreted so differently, just make sure you're the one having fun and don't get your heart injured over the fate of someone else's relationship lol.

Now past 2.4 billion!

I'm not against the male lead, man.
I'm talking about the AO3 incident and the entire internet suddenly going against him for few months.

-Also I'm just relaying something I heard. It makes sense if Mango TV would want to air their own self-produced dramas first.

As for what happened in the middle, I'm not sure, but it's seemingly uncommon to have a show with two top-of-their-league actors stuck on a shelf for so long.

Anyways, excited for the drama as well.
