Is it really worth to watch im a fan of comedy, romcom, action and suspense dramas any thoughts??? Im curious…
It is not a rom-com. Romance is a side plot and is a slow burn. Many feel the chemistry but just as many prefer a workplace friendship. DOTS is definitely a total romance-centered drama. This drama is more about the evils of corruption, literally evil itself, and dark themes. It has a huge mix of comedy though, but it depends if slapstick is your style. Haven't watched DOTS, so can't compare the two. I would say give it a try, but it took me 3 episodes to like it, and then I was hooked by the fourth. So it is sure a different experience for everyone.
I was just thinking... If Vincenzo was just going to torture and murder them from the start why draw it out? Why…
Adding to what the above comment said, His mom dying doesn't have a point, just something that Jang Jun-Woo wanted to do take away something from Vincenzo in exchange, and Choi Myung-Hee worked on it because she needed to get back into his good graces after several failures. So point-uh, Vincenzo losing something dear, the prospect of Vincenzo having nothing left to hold on to in Korea, and revenge and the tidal turn for a darker ending.
But a real point, mm...
The court stuff as said is because they need the villains to die after this legal schitzmick so they will die condemned and their businesses will be burnt down. (The whole theme about Babel being abandoned and collapsing. like the bible).
But towards the end, the 'toying' idea also fell short for me because it felt like Vincenzo could have prevented lots of plot points if chop, chop. Thank god the guillotine file was really utilized in the end, and thank god-my worry all along- they made copies. So then they were killable.
That's what's everyone is saying-could easily be 16-18 episodes instead.
the more i think about it the more i think this drama would've done better with a nice, tight 16 episodes instead…
Agreed. There were problems from Ep 16 onwards, but quickly resolved, and a lot of Vincenzo threatening people. So it didn't go down the drain, but it walked around in circles for a while and the villains lost their charisma because doing this relegates them to a certain temperament.
i wondered about that as well... it said it was his dream, so I guess it was his imagination...but then it said…
Conclusion: 72 hours ago, he dreamed. (On the airplane?) I completely forgot about that! That seems so funny now. At least he did set fire to (other) stuff in the process.
am i the only one who thinks the people who are binge watching vincenzo won't enjoy as much as the viewers who…
True. It's actually the first time I've done this seriously (I used to wait for episodes for other dramas too, but they weren't really interesting so I wasn't hooked and even missed the dates frequently). It was so fun with the MDL Vincenzo thread, too! I would say it feels great to watch it waiting week to week but tbh I would have spent less time over a show if I got to binge watch it, and you wouldn't forget details easily, and be able to connect the entire story together much better.
Soompi did an interview with Song Joong Ki, fyi https://www.soompi.com/article/1467132wpp/song-joong-ki-on-playing-an-antihero-in-vincenzo-undeniable-chemistry-with-jeon-yeo-bin-future-plans-and-more?fbclid=IwAR0nRpv8_D1UvLZNFF88M9sMbtrWuD1ubnOoUNvUSMUB01TeIZqQiGOvev8
Thanks, I was trying to find the English translation. Gave me a lot more insight!
Just for fun, but the small things that stuck out to me that weren't supposed to stick out to me in the last episode: - When Cha-Young falls, I was so wary of that table behind her-she was so close to the corners. -Shots of her shoes, I was wondering why there were so many shots of her shoes -When Vincenzo is walking in the end, he passes by a building that says 'Salute'- really stuck out to me (and fit well, maybe it was intentional)
By the way, in one of the early episodes, Jang Jun-Woo says, 'Vincenzo Cassano' in the pronunciation of 'Vin-sen-zo Cassano' To which Vincenzo says he's the first person who's pronounced it correctly.
Is it not 'Vin-chen-zo Cassano'? But at this point I'm highly used to 'Vin-sen-jo Quassano'
Here is my theory about the original ending, You know the last few episodes were delayed because the writer was…
Gosh, you read my mind completely! I had the exact same thoughts. I thought that based on his track record of leaving breadcrumb trails, it was still out of character for this change. I also think the romance might have been altered in the end, and I like to think the writer ended up binge-watching romance shows in the one week hiatus, since he's known for his 'not knowing how to write romance' self.
In the last scene Vincenzo’s hair style is going back to the same one in ep 8, the bangs covering half of his…
I thought it just meant he was done with Babel, because after you know what in episode 16, his hair almost stayed gelled back the whole way until everything was resolved.
Got a bit of 'Crash Landing on You (사랑의 불시착)' vibes from the ending.. – how the two are in love…
Haha, yeah, lots of us have mentioned this down below too. I like to think that the famous non-romance writing writer-nim was scratching his head, wondering how to end Vincenzo and binge-watched a bunch of romance dramas.
It has a huge mix of comedy though, but it depends if slapstick is your style.
